There is a haunting feeling in the place...and a feeling of peace and then beyond...eternity. I couldn't think of anything to play there but that one tune...the only one that seemed appropriate for then and there. Thanks for watching.
@willsoflo Hey thanks so much for the kind words. I'm glad you like my playing of this tune. I think my blog sort of dissipated from lack of use... LOL... lack of time these days. I do plan to either get back to it, or just use youtube as a sort of video blog about guitar, clawhammer banjo, and fiddling journeys as I go... always learning... keep playing/keep having fun! Thanks for watching! GHPeggy
Peggy Im reading along on you r blog . Great story telling . It adds so much to the music !! New England could have given back some of the water that fell here this spring and early summer .. All the best . Guy
Thank you for the kind words; I'm glad you enjoyed it. Your videos are very nice too... I especially like the bowed dulicmer and the jamming of the old hymns ...thanks for putting them out there!
I don't use tabs, but I've heard this thing played a bunch of different ways. Usually it's crooked... I played this one straight up because it just seemed to fit the atmosphere at the time. I guess it must be a very old tune since it has so many variations.
I really love this tune. Haunting? Oh, yes! I just keep coming back to hear it again and again. I see a reference to a blog you are posting. where is that? I'm curious. I came late to the music game. i play rythm guitar in an old time string band and just recently took up claw hammer banjo. I don't seem to be inately talented but I'm having a lot of fun. Thanks for putting this video up. For me, it's inspirational.
Hey Peggy - Just dredged this up out of the distant past. Really love the sound an sure would like to add this one to my list. But just noticed it looks like your playing that Good Time banjo you recently starter playing again. Is it the same one? Gee I sure love that sound.
great location for echo.....seems MADE for that location..... Wonder if you could get paid to stay there and play while the tourists go through.....???

Hi Groundhog. That is a sad story but beautiful musical tribute to the lost souls there...Blessings.
It's as good today as the day I first heard it, Peg.
I like the way you think... wouldn't THAT be the ideal career!!!!!!
This is great. I love the feeling you talk about. It is haunting. I hope you get the banjo of your dreams soon. :) A fellow BHO.

Hi and thanks. Is there somewhere where I can hear or watch your banjo playing? I'd love to hear ya!
Great song! I've been looking all over for tabs for it, but I can't seem to find anything that sounds like this version. Where did you find it?
