    I got rid of my revlon and bought the Dyson. Revlon gave me a lot of split ends and there was a burnt smell. I use dyson 3x a week and my hair feels so luscious and healthy. If you can afford it, switchover. And watch a ton of tutorials 😊

    I’ve had the Revlon for about 9 months now and I can’t live without out. It’s the best blow dryer/ straightener . I rarely if ever use my actual straightener. My hair type is wavy frizzy. More frizzy than curls. Like this girl I have a lot of hair and the Revlon tool works quickly. I highly recommend it. Love it! ❤️❤️❤️

It’s just as big as Revlon) I have thick long hair, have no time and can get bone straight in 10 min. Also Dyson is way lower heat, Revlon was damaging my hair, none with Dyson after months of use.

  • @somichleecious
    @somichleecious 4 ปีที่แล้ว +107

    My hair is longer than Julissa's but it only took me about 15 mins to give myself a complete blowout with the Dyson Airwrap, and I don't consider myself an expert with the tool yet. The key is to use it on almost-dry (about 10-20% dry depending on how fine your hair is) hair - Dyson explicitly states that this is a styling tool and not a dryer. There's a separate blowdryer attachment for that purpose. You're not supposed to use this on damp hair because that will take too long - that's why the tool overheated (it uses a technology that's really powerful, so naturally leaving it on for 3 minutes to do each section will get the tool really hot). You're supposed to turn it on for maybe 30 seconds at a time, turn it off, and move to the next section. To set the curl at the end, you're supposed to switch to the cool air setting and twirl it around for a few extra seconds. Also I have the Revlon too and it's great as a quick styler on damper hair, but if I'm looking for something other than a simple sleek look (note: there's another attachment in the Dyson kit that better achieves that than this round brush), I'd prefer the Dyson because it gives the hair a lot more bounce and the results are long-lasting (I have oily hair so I wash it every 1-2 days, and it usually lasts well into the 2nd day). I do have straight, fine hair that's easier to style so maybe the Revlon is better for curly hair after all, but I just want to clarify that the Dyson isn't as bad as it seems in this video (other than the price).

    • @Ordgrill
      @Ordgrill 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michelle Lee agree. If she wanted the same look as the rebook one there is a different attachment for it (a bigger flat brush, that can also give you volume) the smaller one is as you said for damp hair and when you want even more curl and volume, really makes the hair look like a blowout from a salon

      Sophie K is ur hair curly or straight? if it’s straight then ur hair has to be 90% dry before you use it but if it’s curly it has to be damp so your hair doesn’t dry curly. when you’re combing it through your hair make sure the side where the air is coming out from is blowing directly onto your hair to get heat on your hair

    If anyone is concerned about heat damage, the hot tools version is more expensive, but uses less heat all around. I got mine on sale, use it almost daily, and don’t have any heat damage (granted I go overboard on the heat protectant and hair masks). I have thick, silky, long hair and I love using the one styler to give me voluminous, Victoria’s Secret waves. It’s the best money I’ve ever spent on a hair tool.

    Regarding the heat for anyone that's interested: I own both the revlon and the dyson, and I used my kitchen thermometer to do a heat test. The Dyson hit 190 deg F after being on for a few minutes (high heat and speed). The Revlon I couldn't even measure because it immediately went over the range of my thermometer which had a 220 deg F limit, and warped the plastic cutting board I was using to protect my counter haha.

    Hi- that round brush on the dyson is not meant for your hair type. That’s for giving body to “fine, limp hair”. I have that attachment and only use it for my bangs. You need to use the firm smoothing brush to straighten your hair. I love it!! I find the revlon really damages my hair. Just thought I would tell you what helps me. We have similar hair and I researched the dyson attachments a lot before buying it. I know you didn’t like the paddle brush but the key is holding the section by the end and brushing thorough. You can’t just brush it through without the tension of holding it or it won’t straighten. Hope you give that a try and it works 😊it’s saved me a lot time and damage!

    I am a professional hairstylist for 17 years now, I have used so many products over the years but I recently bought the DysonAirwrap...I do have naturally curly hair and what I found was its not mean to straighten the hair while doing a blowout, if you want that look go with something stronger. In the directions is says to dry the hair partly then use the round brush attachment. It's actually meant for smooth volume only. It works amazingly on my hair for that. If you have fine hair it works even better and gives big volume!! Hope this helps.

    What's more, I just bought a silicone diffuser attachment for when I wear my hair curly and OMG! 20 mins and done. Now, my Airwrap really is complete. 😁

      Hi! Idk if you ever bought it, but I have crazy frizzy hair and was so tired of waiting for it to dry then straightening it. I was really skeptical about the revlon, I didn't think it would actually make my hair straight enough to be comparable to flat iron, but I bought it and now I use my straightener to curl my hair more than I use it to straighten my hair. I literally love the revlon brush so much, I cannot say enough good things about it. (The only thing negative I'll say is that they aren't very durable. The motor went out on the first one I bought after 4 or 5 months, so if you can get it from somewhere like target that offers a warranty I'd recommend that. And then the second one I bought I ended up having to replace after about 6 months to a year because the bristles were falling off but I think that was because I used it so much. I still happily went out and bought a new one because I am practically reliant on it at this point. It took my shower -> work ready hair routine from an hour to 20 ish minutes. If you're on the fence and haven't bought it yet then I'd really recommend going for it.)

    My hair is around a 3c and it's waist long.
    I have both dryers, and Dyson is hands down better for the simple fact that it's non-damaging and it dries faster on curly hair. The attachment that's supposed to be used is the paddle attachment. Curly hair will crease on a round attachment because you're introducing a curl on already curly hair. The Revlon brush is more of a flat round brush and that's why it's straightening the hair, but it's not worth the extra damage; especially if you color or perm your hair often.

      @@merisariol2670 I'm glad it was helpful. I'm thinking of doing a tutorial on it because it's seriously worth the investment for any hair type but curly girls aren't using it correctly. My hair is near a 4a and it looks like a 1A when I'm done drying and flat ironing it.
      Buy it used, it'll save you about 300 dollars. There's a lot of websites selling it for 200ish. You don't need all the attachment either, only the round brush and the smoothing brush. It'll save you a lot of money if you don't buy the full set.

    This was really unfair to the Dyson. I had a Revlon for months but it damaged the hell out of my hair so I decided to splurge and get the Dyson. NIGHT AND DAY. You used the worst attachment for the Dyson when the paddle brush is so much better and the same size as the Revlon. The curling wands aren't my favorite and the style doesnt last very long but I've been using it for almost a year and my hair has little to no damage, it also takes 10 minutes to do my hair. You really do get what you pay for and I am a Dyson believer that the price is worth it for beautiful undamaged hair.

      I find that odd. I use the Hot Tools version of the Revlon brush twice a week on my super dry, breakage-prone frizzy and curly hair and it makes it like smooth silk and it's never been healthier. The key is a really good heat protectant. I love the Amika serum. It's made my hair even healthier than the past 5 or so years before I got the brush (I've been using it for 8 months now) where I didn't blow dry or use any heat at all on my hair. I'm not sure if those who have damage with the Revlon are holding it in place too long, using it on hair that is too wet, or what. I use the highest heat setting and about half dry hair and get compliments on how shiny and long it is. Also, I have insanely thick hair (every haircut I've had, the stylist says it's the thickest they've ever seen) and it's past my boobs and I spend about 25-30 minutes drying it tops.

For frizz prone hair you should have been using the smoothing brush attachment not the round brush, while thats the most similar looking thing to the revlon. It’s made for fine and extremely flat hair.

      **someone whose used both can u tell me if the dyson is heat damaging? or if youve only used the dyson on curly hair, have u noticed heat damage???? pls help me. ill feel rly guilty if i waste my mom's money. it's ONLY worth it to me if the round brush dyson is less HEAT DAMAGING than the revlon. i like using the curling barells, but that's not why i bought it.

    I’m going to grab that Revlon piece! As for dyson- same applies to their steamer mops. I use the $45 at my Reiki center-so heavy commercial use-and it’s awesome. The dyson is $300. I have a client that has gone through three of them in maybe 5 years...and she lives by herself and uses it once a week.

      Which steamer mop do you use?

      @@cparisenti I use the Shark one. Just used it yesterday after changing soil out on some plants and the floors looked great in 10 mins. I also hear the bissel one with scrubbing heads and steam is pretty great and that one is $130.

    I was so close to buying the dyson but my hair is exactly like yours plus some and was afraid of it not working. This video helped me so much and I might just go get the Revlon dryer! Thanks!

      The Dyson is not worth it. I have long curls & frizzy hair and it left my hair fuzzy and feeling dry. I ended up turning it

    I find with both tools the hair needs to be like 80 percent dry before using any of the styling brushes. I own the Dyson i just use the round brush for volume at the root only. I use the other attachments

    You can get a nice bouncy blowout with the revlon also. And I feel like the dyson was louder and more of a whistle sound. The revlon side looks great

    Saw your video yesterday, ordered the revlon, got it today, and its worth every penny!! It usually takes me 1h to 1h30 to do my hair, it took me 25 min!! And theyre not burned at all like they are when i use a straightener!! Definitely recommend it❤

    It's because you are using Dyson volume brush WRONGLY. To obtain sleek hair,you must use smoothing brushes!
    The comparison with Revlon in this case is useless, because they have different function.

    • @2013nicolas
      @2013nicolas 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Absolutly. Using the smoothing brush would save you lot of time and shoulder build up! With the smoothing brush you could have dry hair up to 80% & with the round brush you could have do the ultimate finish instead.

      The smoothing brushes bristles are too far apart to actually smooth my hair, but my hair is much curlier than hers. You need a lot of tension to smooth out curly hair and the round brush attachment was the only one that gave me any.

      @@2013nicolas Even then if she used the smoothing attachment how much would she cut her time down? Even if she cuts it into 50% that would make it dry equally and as well in the same amount of time. That would leave you to compare the price.

      She is using the volumizing one, Revlon is ALSO a volumizer, the comparison is fair. BTW, USING CAPITAL LETTERS IS PLAIN RUDE.
