I'm so excited for your future projects! God has definitely blessed you with the ability to put together quality resources to help moms homeschool using the best! I have used the McGuffeys off and on with my boys, but never bought your lessons books till just recently. I was printing the free versions or using notebooks, but pages would get lost, work was sloppy and disorganized, and I felt frustrated (my boys all hate drawing and writing and keeping their work organized!). Now with the purchased version of the lesson books, each child has their own cute book and keeping everything together is so much easier! The kids know what to do and I don't make them draw if they don't want to. It's less overwhelming!
Your new stuff sounds really good. I love that you’re being obedient to the LORD in this. Your math idea is definitely needed. There is only one program I know of that’s even close to what you describe. It is called Learn Math Fast. Have you heard of it? I think volumes 1-3 or 4 cover up to pre algebra. Anyway, I believe there is a need for your version and I’m excited for it to come to fruition. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.
Wow, Sherry!! This is all very exciting. I am looking forward to your new resources. Any tentative dates for the commonplace books and the Mom’s Encyclopedia? One suggestion I have, as you described having a page for the facts/outline and then lines on the back for their narration/composition. I was thinking it would be great if the pages were side by side instead. That way the child doesn’t have to flip their paper over to look at their facts/drawings as they’re trying to come up with sentences. And for the Mom Encyclopedia could you add a section on high school. How to award credits with an eclectic/CM approach. Booklists, keep high school records, write course descriptions, creating elective courses like home ec, life skills, career exploration, personal finances, etc or make videos on those topics for us. What resources did you use, tips/ideas/advice. Very much excited for that Mom Encyclopedia and what you described. I will buy it for sure!

Can you please do a video explaining they WHY of copywork and dictation? I have never been able to implement this simple learning\teaching technique even though I've known about it for years, watched lots of tutorials and loads of research. It may be the age old challenge I have of wanting to know why. As in how does it work in the brain for learning? What is it doing that creates the learning? If that made sense and you think you can explain this, it would be a huge help to me and may solve years of puzzlement in my brain. Thank you again for all you do. I'm so glad you have been encouraged to use the McG's! I am enjoying working on these for hours each day. So far I have about two-fifths of the pages created, and then will be the digitalizing and editing, then the submission to the publisher. It could be another 6 weeks or more.

We have tried a mix of workbooks and math journaling this last year and the workbooks were so dry but so helpful to have a spine and all the necessary concepts and the journaling was where I felt my daughter really learned. Your gold nuggets at the end are always my favorite part❤
I use First Year in Number a little bit, but mostly we just do something related to what we learned with First Lessons in Numbers: Oral and Written by Maglathlin and I just make up something to journal but it's not very automated, I'm struggling to make an SOP like you have mentioned. It's hard to use older math books after being in the public school system all my life.
Sherry I love you and everything you do. Because of your videos and support we have been using the McGuffeys for a number of years. My kids have wonderful vocabularies, are great spellers, and k ow their grammar. Once they hit high school though I really dont know where to go with composition. They haven’t taken off naturally with essays and I always end up spending gobs on curriculum I hate and don't use. Do you know of any McGuffey resources that would be geared more for high school and composition? I feel like everything is for littles. I want my youngest to finish out the McGuffey series, but feel the need to switch to a more structured (and pricey) language arts program for high school.

I have my children use the McGuffeys for speech practice with a little speech therapy phone (it looks like an old phone but is hollow so they hear how they sound to everyone else). It is helping and... They are learning good old-fashioned values and manners. Sometimes they pick their copywork passages from the "McG". :) Win-win-win!
I just want to say I followed your instructions and started over with my son and two weeks into your method I have seen tremendous improvement in his reading. The math book sounds excellent and I’m looking forward to using it
I always love your videos. I especially appreciate how you make them in a way to be listened to while working (and how you say it every time). I save your videos till I have a kitchen job or I take the kids to the park or am doing some other job where I can just listen while working. After following you for years I now use the McGuffey readers for reading practice and copywork for my younger kids. I used to have them choose a certain number of sentences to copy. They always chose the shortest ones! So after much thinking about typing out their copywork etc. I decided that was not the best use of my time. Now I highlight the sentences right in the book that I want copied. Saves me tons of time and I can choose better, more meaningful sentences. I can’t wait to see the commonplace books you come up with. 😊

I also like the ideas they give in their LAH program for the second book and how to flesh it out to a full program. With topics for further discussion and research. It’s way more than I could use, but I have so much more confidence to sift through resources like that and not stress about what I don’t use because of your encouragement and guidance ❤!
I totally agree! We spend so much time and money filling children with useless information. My heart aches for the children, so I try and do my little bit via encouragement and helping mommies in their important work😁
@@MomDelights I did not learn much of anything in school, avfew years ago I had stubbled onto your channel and learned about the ecclectic books for math and reading, andbother subjects, history, music, elicution, etc. I started "relearning" these subjects, and my channrl is all about my real time learning. I started with Math as that seemed a bit easy to comprehend, little did I know!! I am now on my second year, and I am learning alot like basic neasures, and what fractions are. I just do not remember this stuff going to public school!! As a selftaught musician, rhythm was a big problem as what it all ment, but know that I understand what a 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 are, Ivam understanding rhythm much better! I still dont understand multplication and division well, bu we are touching on them and going through and reviewing concepts at differant parts in the verius books is helpful. All in God's time! I thank my God, that I can learn properly the things that mater. Thank you for sharing!
I want to use mcguffy readers for a child who knows his letters, letter sounds, etc. Were ready for blends and small words. However he is too young and not ready to write. Will this work verbally only?

Hi Sherry, my 3rd grader was just diagnosed with dyslexia and adhd. Very reluctant writer. Would you still recommend the McGuffey readers or more of the Orton Gillingham approach? Thank you for all you do. I enjoy your content!
Actually, my daughter (who has appeared here on my channel) has a few dyslexic children and has been looking into being an Orton-Gillingham tutor. From what she has told me, my free reading program goes well with that approach, and the McG's dovetails nicely with both, since it is so logical and emphasizes the basic phonics principles and repeats them over and over.
there is a pioneer village near me in indiana and they take kids to the school house and give them a lesson out of these books. havent made it up there yet though

I am now on my second year, and I am learning alot like basic neasures, and what fractions are. I just do not remember this stuff going to public school!! As a selftaught musician, rhythm was a big problem as what it all ment, but know that I understand what a 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 are, Ivam understanding rhythm much better!
I still dont understand multplication and division well, bu we are touching on them and going through and reviewing concepts at differant parts in the verius books is helpful. All in God's time!
I thank my God, that I can learn properly the things that mater.

I want to use mcguffy readers for a child who knows his letters, letter sounds, etc. Were ready for blends and small words. However he is too young and not ready to write. Will this work verbally only?

Hi Sherry, my 3rd grader was just diagnosed with dyslexia and adhd. Very reluctant writer. Would you still recommend the McGuffey readers or more of the Orton Gillingham approach? Thank you for all you do. I enjoy your content!
Actually, my daughter (who has appeared here on my channel) has a few dyslexic children and has been looking into being an Orton-Gillingham tutor. From what she has told me, my free reading program goes well with that approach, and the McG's dovetails nicely with both, since it is so logical and emphasizes the basic phonics principles and repeats them over and over.

there is a pioneer village near me in indiana and they take kids to the school house and give them a lesson out of these books. havent made it up there yet though
