  • Twenty years later, the 2003 Detroit Shock are back in town to be honored for their WNBA Championship. Johnny Kane caught up with some of the coaching staff, including coach Bill Laimbeer and assistant coach Pam McGee.

      The team has relocated. However, that 2003 turnaround has not been replicated by any team since, NBA or WNBA. Worst in the league one season to best record and champions the next with 22,076 in attendance? That is nothing to overlook and certainly when Piston Bad Boy Bill Laimbeer was the head coach.

      Think about the great female players from Flint -Pamela and Paula McGee, Deanna Nolan, Tonya Edwards and Twanda McDonald.
