You are looking at the final leg of the North coast improvement project. Portland was left for last. There is no other way to fix the road and no, the sea did not come over into the road.

I grew up in the Port Antonio area , my heart aches every year I visit and have to travel on that road. There seem to be no coordination between the water commission and the contractors. Water commission just dig up the road as they please and then leave a big trench for motorist to deal with. they've been working on the road for three years and we just start see some improvement in Long Bay. Disgusting road conditions for a main road near the parish capital. MP's need to do more to bring back the Public Works Department to take care of the roads.

Hey Rob, it’s called the Southern Coastal Highway. Maybe when it’s completed they will rename it like they did with the pj Patterson and Edward seaga highways
Just hoping so-called road works are getting done nearly 24 hours per day along that root I regularly travel when in JA! Not even Knutsford Express Coach can use that major 'road' route! Sad! Even trees & bushes hang-over entire coastal way too much!
