3 Quentin Tarantino films in the top 5. That pretty much says it all. Definitely lives up to the title of _Favorite list._ No problem with that though --- everybody has their thing. In the end, its what you as an individual value.

What a list ! Awesome movies. Enjoyed all 199 of them except Yi Yi (Never saw this one) My personal collection spins around 7000 movies.. I do have a couple hundred more best movies but this list is really GREAT !

Great list. Interesting that so many of these lists rate The Prestige and The Zodiac so high, yet they weren't successful when released. I've actually seen over 160 on the list too, several more than once
This list somehow feels more IMDb than IMDb itself. Not hating, though. I'm not yet pretentious enough to act like I don't love your top picks. Some people need to remember that there's absolutely no shame in preferring more popular, modern films, especially when you're clearly also giving older, experimental films their fair shot. Kudos.

Respectable list. I’m disappointed that many people don’t have the film The Thin Red Line(1998) on their lists. It’s a beautiful, tense, and heartbreaking film. A Terrance Malik masterpiece.

And foreign films are hard for me to watch bc I need to look at subtitles and then I can’t focus on the movie
@@admilz I don't want your list to be like mine or whatever. These aren't bad movies. There are plenty of great ones on your list. The problem is that they're all extremely well-known films. This becomes even more obvious when we get into your top 20. It gives the impression that you've stopped at the first line of the first chapter of cinephilia: Nolan, Fincher, Scorsese, Kubrick and Tarantino. These are the favorite films of a 14-year-old discovering cinema. You have to go further. I'm sorry if I said it unkindly, but I'm being deliberately provocative to encourage you to get out of your comfort zone. Then, the remark about the "French Art-house film from 1953 that no one has ever heard of" is at best Americanocentrism and at worst stupidity tinged with racism. As for the subtitles, I don't know what to say, I'm forced to read them myself. I had the same problem as you for about 15 minutes of the very first subtitled film I ever saw before I got used to it. Plus there are French films in your list so I really don't see what the problem is. Also, you can see my list here (boxd.it/smp2I), and you'll see that there aren't just "French Art-house film from 1953 that no one has ever heard of", there are even plenty of films known and appreciated by many. And finally, you're sharing your list on the Internet for people to see, so you have to expect people who don't like it, and treat them in the same way as those who do.
