I've used them. I'm not a fan. It is not a stand alone piece of equipment, it has to be attached to an upright. It's plate loaded and thus has issues related to resistance curves and effective range of motion. It's also very expensive.
@@SkylerKingTW Girls love that machine. 90% of the time when the machine was used, it was a lady. Also, I am a huge. You made my day by replying to me.
That machine was a pretty good find (looks good cleaned up and painted!), and a creative approach to maximizing it. Interesting video - I’ll have to see what these cost used in the states and if it’s worth investing in.
I'm really enjoying it. It's not just that it's versatile, but it does all of the various exercises in such an effective way. It really feels great to use.
That's plate loaded, which is an immediate disadvantage in terms of resistance curve as well as effective range of motion. It also needs to be set up every time you want to use it.
You're the second guy to mention seeing one in the 90s. That's crazy, because I had never seen one until the early 2000s and didn't start seeing them regularly until about 10 years ago. I had no idea these even existed in the 90s.
i actually use this thing at a commercial gym all the time, for its intended purpose lol
Those machines are amazing , love them
You would like the bulletproof isolator.

@@SkylerKingTW you can attach a second arm with a weight horn to the outer side of the isolator and adjust the resistance curve. It works great
I used one in the early 90s at the DTLA YMCA.
Really? I had no idea they were being made that far back.

Surely the bulletproof isolator would have been a better choice. You can do the same movements and more with it.

Had one in a gym I working late 90's, pain in the bum trying to get all the correct angles
And clients to understand how to set it up

@@SkylerKingTWthink the reason why they're rare
Because like you said gyms have abductor adductors leg extension leg curl machines
