Sportboat Roundup | June 20, 2024

On this week’s Sportboat Roundup, host Tonie Bangos cover the ongoing bluefin bite which has had its far share of high’s and low’s. With a push of warm water and good conditions on the forecast, we’re looking forward to more productive fishing in the weeks ahead. Up in the Channel Islands, the white sea bass and halibut have been on the chew with multiple boats reporting excellent fishing on the beach.

I seriously hate fish counts. Every single boat I’ve been on lies. Same for the charter I used yesterday increased the actual catch. Why do we still even do fish counts. Pictures or it probably didn’t happen.

Can we get a location for some of those bluefin bites? 60 mile, mushroom, east butterfly, or Cortez? As a private boater, it really helps to know whether they’re 40 miles out or 100 miles.
