for 2023 returns, I used both TaxAct and TaxSlayer. The biggest hurdle was to see which one would handle 1099 MISC (small gas royalties). Tax Act would not handle it properly..as it kept telling me I have to say I am self employed or own a share in oil and gas company! ...and only AFTER I paid by credit card..did it say 'The IRS may flag your account!'...because it would not let me use a Sched E form properly.
TaxSlayer when I also did a dry run to see if it would work...it work quickly and easily to handle my 1099 MISC and quickly added the income to a Sched E form! So from now on its TaxSlayer for me...its 1/2 cost of turbo tax and works wonderfully easy for me (Im retired).

There’s no way they allow you to do it because that makes you the opportunity of filling up the form by yourself and e-filling as well

In general, Cash App Taxes is great (Credit Karma Taxes doesn’t exist anymore, it is Cash App). However, Cash
App doesn’t support multi-state, foreign income (which could impact investors in mutual funds or ETFs), and some K-1s.
TaxSlayer handles it all at a great simple
price.

Hello! A tax slayer doesn't let me add two 1099-NEC forms. Instead, it sends the second one as my personal business income. I am trying to figure this out for hours.

Are the NEC forms from side hustles? If so, it's doing the right thing - you combine them both into your business income, and then you can also claim your business expenses.

TaxSlayer does not...... slay at all.. I would skip this one and consider other often-cheaper options.
