I love seeing how quickly you start picking up on some of the central themes of the series really fast, and especially how you interpret it as someone completely ''out of the loop'' with no other info besides the anime so far. You bringing up Petelgeuse's contradiction of sin and virtue along with how he practices/believes in a unique form of 'sloth' was really fascinating to hear too. Awesome commentary man.
No one but Subaru and Petelgeuse can see the unseen hand, but the others can see the effects of the hands making contact with things in the air such as the ice mist that Emilia casts when she shows up or the dust that Wilhelm kicks up with his sword or the falling water that gets kicked up when Mimi and Tivey use their breath attack. They can see how the hands pass through them even if they can't see the hands themselves.
im so glad to hear your take on the witch cult and sins, tappei really had a mad stroke of genius when writing each archbishop with parallels and contrast to their represented sin. sloth demonstrates this perfectly as the more he talks the more you can be convinced of his twisted psychology and the more you begin to rationalize it.
Again, i just totally love your indepth look into this amazingly deep series. The one thing ill say for now is to keep in mind the blank letter. Its a very small piece of information that foreshadows something massive down the line. Also, try to remember everything Betelguese says. This is another small detail that gets astronomically more interesting in season 2... I just love this series so much. Thank you for such awesome reactions to it!
Keep in mind that sin archbishops are either the opposite of their sin like Betelgeuse but keep in mind that sometimes archbishops embody their sin but in a twisted manner, not always the opposite keep that in mind when anlaysing them
It's never explained in the anime probably because of time contrainst but emilia's cloak prevents people from recognizing the one wearing it, so she could go into the town without them knowing
@@bilalahmed-bu7bi here is a DIRECT quote from Subaru in season 1 episode 24: "It was handwoven by Roswaal. Apparently, there is a spell woven into it that prevents recognition." If you think this statement doesn't explain anything, you lack a brain.

Man… I didnt watch the directors cut originally but i really prefer the direction of cutting the music right when Julius kills Subaru. It just hit way harder.
I actually really love and prefer the directors cut version of that part, something about the music lingering makes me a lot more emotional than the original but I understand why people would prefer the og
I feel like you have the misconception that the unseen hands can go through objects and that people can't detect them. While they can't be seen they are still very much there and have a physical form which means that you can touch them even if you can't see them as well as use the enviorment to detect them which is kind of what Wilhelm was doing. He was creating clouds of dust in order to be able to see the movement of the unseen hands. He wasn't able to fight Petelgeuse because of luck but rather pure skill.

@anusaukko6792 thank you 😁
R.I.P. sloth mercenary (not to be confused with Sloth mercenary)

Isn't it explained later? Maybe I'm misremembering, but I thought it was.
Its explained in chapter 24.
They touch on it next ep
19:31 About that, the funny hoodie enilia wears conceals your appearance.
This isn't explained in the anime.
Yes it is in the upcoming episodes
@MobscastBlackOut subaru wears it, but the function of it is never explained directly.
You can infer it, though.

@MobscastBlackOut really then, I guess I misremembered.
I swear I thought I heard this in a cut content video.
