Damn I miss these classic FASA products. The had interesting events happen in the setting without massive universe altering meta plots that would throw your home campaigns out of wack with the official time line.

I wish they had made a dozen or so of these books. Stuff about periphery state border clashes, great house raids, major offensives to secure a mech factory world that kind of stuff would have all been really welcome.

If I remember correctly this is supposed to be hinting at his developing plans to invade Liao and he kind of forgets about Galtor until he has to do something or risk losing a system and face by allowing a plan he enacted be botched.
