Totally agree. Italy is the World's most important guardian of art and architecture through the ages. From ancient Roman to 20th c there is no country like this. The Romanesque period is wonderful and very rare to find in original condition. I'm guessing that the frescoes date from around the 13th/14th c the various altars etc from the 16th/17th c. I was not aware of this Basilica previously, now it's on my list to see in the future, thanks to Massimo Nalli.
