The exia was always my favorite but honestly this is my favorite HG exia
From a glance the figure looks like Kamen Rider OOO Tajadol combo.
Huh, well what do you know, it does!
BBmetalhead04 When I read that comment the Tajadol theme started playing in my head! XD
True.
It does! He just needs a shield and it's ready

I'm pretty sure this is coming out MG
Therry Swag And I'm absolutely certain this is will have an MG release. Next month, in fact.
Love the review and all the cons you spoke of are absolutely true. currently working on this build and it was good to find all of this out so I could plan ahead and make the necessary corrections. Keep up the good work.
I don't care if it can't do splits cus they never do a split. That spead it has is fine, it's natural at realistic
well, i just got my Exia Dark Matter in today, and i really like it!
So, how is it holding up??
@@sitatamaria4908 Not good. Not good at all. I do NOT recommend it
@@zorh136 wow that was fast, especially since this is a 6 year old comment
@@zorh136 What about the mg
@@sitatamaria4908 I just happened to be by my phone when I got the notification. The MG is definitely better, but still not great. The ankles of the MG Exia are notoriously weak
After watching Gundam Build Fighters.... this Gundam/Gunpla has become my favorite
Bro, if the loose wrist thing still gets to you... Try wrapping up the knucke's ball joint using double sided tape
I like Amazing Exia's design and color scheme(I'm a sucker for white and blue bots) over this.
Then I think you'll like the HGBF 1/144 Hi-Nu Gundam vRabe
***** I'm already loving it.
Glad I can still get copies of this HG at my local Midtown Comics. I want to do a Exia DM custom with the Avalanche Exia.
may i ask, i was planning to get a MG hi-nu gundam but i can't decide if i will get the original one or the Katoki ver.
the Ka. seems nice and updated but i watched a review where the weight of the wings/fin funnels are on the neck & head which may cause the head to fall off but in your perspective which is better the original or the Ka.?
Is this kit included the booster?? Since i know there are also sperate dark matter booster
I'm personally a fan of the Exia build and honestly Dark Matter is a sharp edgy play off to Exia similar to Gundam Astraea Type F.
Overall I think I'd like it as a good display piece, but as you said it's for Exia fans.
To me it looks more like the Exia with the Aegis silhouette placed over top it.
But yeah, this is for fans only ahah!
***** I've finally gotten my hands on one and I immensely enjoyed the build. I actually took it a step further repainted the red a fierce metallic spray paint, and then slapped on the RG Destiny Gundams Wings on the back of the Dark Matter Booster.
Minor increased weight issues aside; display wise it looks absolutely amazing and really plays some strengths in the Dark Matter Booster's design. Also it gives something that the Destiny wings always lacked, the articulation needed for it's design to make sense.
waiting for the MG version
what panel line color suitable for red parts? ...black or grey?
Anyone else have trouble with the orbs on the arms not sticking and the loose chest
does the booster fits in RG grade ? (especially EXIA)
Can't say I'm a fan of this Exia's colors in the least, but some good reviewin' as usual V3.
You planning on getting the HGBF R35 Gouf kit that just went up for preorder recently?
Hell yeah!
As long as the price isn't too crazy I'll definitely buy this
When I bought it it was about $30
Hey Type...were you referring to the Exia repair at the end...Or the Amazing Exia? LOL
At first I thought you could've meant the Build Strike Cosmos, but looking at pictures of it, it looks identical to the Star Build Strike, so I'll skip that.
;)
hey, is it possible to do a fix on the wrists with a bit of elmer's glue to make the joint a little tighter?
It makes it slightly better but it doesn't completely solve the problem.
ok, whats a better solution then?
Not really sure. Haven't looked into another solution yet since I only display my exia with the rifle. :/
after i get it, i do plan on eventually displaying it with the Dart Matter Blades being help in hand
I use clear nail polish helps to stiffen joints but not so much you cant move them, works really really well.
Could you put a GN drive on the Trans-Am booster? It look like you could
I have the model its ol over all but my question is whats with the extra parts on tree E
I believe they're the remnants from the original Exia HG that let you build the GN Drive.
So is this better than the amazing exia?
My friend has that. But I have the regular (GUNDAM EXIA)
great review! I personally prefer the Amazing colour scheme, something bout that bright red/pink colour that bugs me, the face mask also bugs me but not asmuch
I guess being a Char and Athrun fan, I've come to absolutely love pink suits. So manly!
Yet strangely enough i love Athrun's suits (especially them leg lasers) and Char's suits, hmm i guess i'm just more accustomed to the original colour scheme
That's probably it more than anything. Well I suppose I'm not a fan of the face mask on this Exia though. Looks too much like Mortal Kombat's Scorpion.
You should show a video showing your tools what you use make gunpla looks awesome.(IF ALLOWED)
Daus Hirana Meh, Tutorial videos aren't my thing.
is it possible to put the blade of the flame sword in the dark matter rifle?
You mean like an exia's regular GN sword? Yup.
ooohh i see, thanks for the reply. Keep up the good work :D
would you recommend this for beginners ?
I won't since the build time can be quite long
+Gamers Creed what gunpla models would you recommend for beginner's. I am looking a villainish looking Gundam if that's a thing.
+Random .Duelist lol you know I lost the connector to the waist, and I will recommend the wing gundam fenice
Would you recommend amazing exia or dark matter exia ?
There is no official Amazing Exia model kit. Yet.
Snap
***** There is now.
^_^
Yup! Along with the Wing Fenice Rinascita!
So should I wait it out or go for dark matter exia ?
Is this a good choice for a first gundam bot?
Although I've not built this unit myself, I personally would recommend the 1/144 Revive Gundam as it is probably the best starter kit ever made.
Dude this thing is a little complex, just started to build this, and torso is freakin pissing me off, but ye it's between beginner and intermediate level
where can i get that wall?
along taikun hobby link japan
it looks very nice
i'll buy it soon
Does it comes with a stand?
No it does not.
+TYPE V3 So thats why my Dark Exia does not have a stand. I thought they forced to exclude.
will you review the 1/100 MG Gundam Exia Dark Matter?
One day.
Thank you.
plz do the gundam gold astray
crissy corbett Sorry, I think that design is ugly.
very good revie ;-)
Thanks!
LOL. It's MG variant had a P-Bandai part.....
Whoop, I know it's kinda late but, the base (frame), I think Bandai used the original Exia which, I think the base itself is bad.
You sound kind of sick are you okay
I was using a low quality mic back then.
i have the dark matter but it tooks 4hour to build
+genoace izzat Nice!
when did you buy that
its kinda inverted look of amazing exia
blue-red
white-black
green-red/orange
red-violet
Where the dark matter gn drive?
In the box.
Bandai messed up reusing the old exia to make this. I like the exia design and feel they should've updated it for better articulation in the hips, waste and elbows. I'm a little disappointed in this kit.
Hopefully you'll be more satisfied with the MG then!
MG???? 😮 You got insider info or somethin??? It may be better if they reuse the MG mold. Just tighten up those ankles. I was mad at how loose they was....still one of models tho.
It'll be released in February. Enjoy!
gundamguy.blogspot.ca/2014/11/mg-1100-gundam-exia-dark-matter-on.html
Nice..I hope they release a MG Amazing Exia too
I should had bought this instead of Amazing Exia which is one flimsy kit.
I know this is a bit late, but aren't they the same kit?
@@3_Clones this is amazing exia dark matter
@@oops7171 No like the molds
@@3_Clones yes
So it's a female Gundam, interesting.
No. It's just a red Exia.
I was commenting on the peg hole between the legs HAHA!
Oh! Well if that's the case then I suppose ALL gundams are female!
Hahaha, good news for us guys, am I right?
***** It could be where excess-- stuff comes out.
Ugh u send me one pls my mom wont buy me
i have this. i have a question though, there;s an extra torso and shield piece included in the package. what is it for?
It's the original parts that make the regular Exia.
I love the combination of black with the red/rose red. It's so beautiful! In addition, this Gundam reminds me a lot of the Black Rose Dragon card from Yu-Gi-Oh! XD Perhaps the Exia was based off of it?
That's my favorite card...
Idk if Gunda *Exia* Dark Matter is based of gundam Exia
Aqil Haiqal perhaps hes talking about the color scheme of the dark matter
If Setsuna seeing this, he will be pissed, disgusted, angry that his beloved Gundam Exia become corrupted and evil.
True!
This is why I put an A-Laws decal on my model
It's weird, coming back to this video and hearing V3's voice sounding lower XD
And the grip is the only problem with those blades
I saw the dark matter exia, i was suprised at the gunpla, i looked at the bottom and i said WHAT ARE THOOOOOSEEEEE?!?!
Meijin kawagucci
Not a fan of Exia. I mean at all. I AM a fan of unique looking custom jobs. Plus, you can adapt this to a certain 30mm Spinatia and the colors mach pretty well.
Time to thicken up the wrist joints
wait so I can use the green gn blade kai from the standard exia repair 2 to make a different colored blade?
His head reminds me of Voss from the Decepticon Justice Division.
Does anyone think there would be a mg of this kit?
my firstmodel kit was the HG astraea type f. basically red exia with new head and many. many weapons. i saw its problems and its good point. nut i think i was on the better side of first kits.especially since i could make a pallet swapped exia. and thrn i ruined it with a bad paint job
The dark effect is really good
Did Dark Matter Exia GN Sword can stick at rifle like Amazing Exia?
HG Exia's parts are still found on the kit.
You can take off the blade from sword and put it on the GN sword (rifle)
I miss your reviews
You should really invest on a tripod or monopod with a smooth panning video head. It will make your footage so much smoother.
Prominence and what blades? I didn't catch the other name? It just sounds cooler than fire and ice
Brinicle Blade. Yeah, I don't even know if I pronounced it right. :/
You would be better off getting the MG version of this kit as you get more or less all the parts to build the original and R2 version of the Exia in Dark Matter colors. It also looks allot better than the HG version.
An amazing exia model has been anounced, so has a gundam fenice rinascita i dont remember the date for the amazing, but rinascta is comming in september, and amazing comes out earlier frankly i like exia alot but apart from the rg im not getting any more exias for a while, rinascita on the other hand has me stoked i cant wait, if you cant tell im a big fan of the wing, and the zero
Season 2 out
i think if i get this i might just get rid of the ice sword and super glue the wrist ball joints in (unless i can tighten them)
This was the first gundam I ever made.....
did it come out Okay? I bought it for a friend's birthday but it hasn't come in yet, I got myself Gundam Astaroth and we're going to build them together lol
***** can I have your recommendation for hgbf that can do dynamic between hgbf exia dark matter and hgbf fenice rinascita which are good for dynamic pose
Riefki Dije fenice
does it move at all like you know bend arms and knees
Watch the video.
Does it comes with a GN shield? Because I have some leftover parts.
Why this dark matter doesn't include a GN Drive like Amazing Exia does? To your amazing exia review
how many gundam collection do you have?
I just get this gundam, and I think its amazing, I'm so excited to build it.
What kind of red is the dark matter has is it bright red or dark red
Oh, and one last question, can you put the backpack on the astraea type f?
Sorry, that one I'm not sure of.
oh I see, thanks.
type v3 what the other name of the fire and ice sword??
didnt heard it clearly
Prominence Blade (Fire) & Brinicle Blade (Ice)
i see thanks a lot..
he does now that tou mention it.
Dacey Swab nice english
I hope bendai will make a tram am mode
What kind of red is the dark matter has is it bright red or dark red
Somewhere in the middle?
looks like char's sazabi red?
What's it's height? :)
thanks :)
I got this kit, sadly Exia it self wasn't so 'rock solid', one of the 'purple' parts that make up the wast as well as where the Dark Matter Booster docks to the back need to be glued on due to fitting to loosely, and the same goes for the left 'vent' part that attaches to the shoulder, it likes to pop of the ball joint and flop around some times.
those complaints aside, I love it, even 'fixed' the problem I had with the weapons. Mine has the Exia's more iconic weapon, using the 'flame' sword for the blade.
Sry bro, but everyone doesn't have that problem so
So it doesn't come with the GN drive like in the anime?
Nope.
***** That's disappointing
Tutorial on how you cut and remove nub marks pls :D
KrazEWillY Not my thing. But there's plenty other videos out there with good demonstrations.
Nice review, though I don't like the design/color for this unit.
Are you thinking of getting and reviewing the upcoming RG Exia kit?
You bet. Exia is my favourite Gundam!
So is this still seven swords?
Gundam exia dark mater good
this one my gf did and she had fun lol
Cool my broter has that
Nice one kepo up the good works
im not a fan of the show, would you recommend me to get the seasons?
and i dont think i have to be a fan of the series. i really like the figures.
Wait, what are you asking? If I recommend watching Build Fighters? I would say yes but you just said you're not a fan of the show.
of course im not lol i was on a toy site and i came upon them and i figured they were that type of hobby id enjoy. you build and it has a articulation and pose ability. my only issue is, if the parts where you cut the pieces off the frames or whatever you call them lol may be visible after assembly. by the way im going through your reviews out of interest. nice reviews by the way. :) when i said seasons i figured the show is made by seasons you know, just like any other anime.
Yes, all the nub marks will be visible to some degree. Paint and proper sanding will get rid of them.
do you have any tutorials for such? id like that very much.
lol nope. That's not my thing. Best to learn gunpla from a more experienced builder!
What's the size of this model?
1/144. About 5"
***** Thanks! I'm going for my first model so that's why I'm asking, this one looks very cool!
How long did it take you to build it
Well, I'm really slow at building, so just under 2.5 hours. I bet most can get through it in 1.
Oh thats good i want to start building model kits so i just wanted to know how long it would take
how tall is it guys
***** hey man. i'm planning to collect gundam kits. i want some advice from you since you are kinda a 'veteran' from building kits LOL. anyway so i bought a HG gundam kit planning to build it slowly to feel the nostalgia of building kits again when i was a kid. so when i'm building it. my gf suddenly got into it and build it with me. then after finishing it we really enjoyed it and the build quality is superb and not that flimsy and falls apart. so since we are into it. we bought an MG gundam. after we build it. we said okay it looks good. then for some reason. we can't even pose it everything just falls apart compared to the HG one. i mean the thing is unstable. everything falls apart every time we tried to move it. does every MG gunpla like this? or really less stable compared to the HG one? we really didn't know what line are we going to buy from now on since we did enjoy the HG more than the MG. friends says MG is better to collect than HG. but i don't know man. i think i like HG more because of stability and price. though what are your thoughts?
Generally, MGs are more stable and better put together because they include a solid inner frame. However, there are always exceptions to the rule. For example, an MG with a complex transformation gimmick will always be more flimsy than a HG kit that has no gimmicks to it at all.
ok thanks for your reply. think like i just got a flimsy MG after all damn it. me and my GF decided to go for HG/RG line instead of MG since it cost less and have a really wide range of selection. i'm just wondering what do you prefer to collect though?
HGs are great - they offer the widest character selection at an affordable price. It's just they almost always require extra paint or modding to get the most out of them.
Personally, I LOVE the RG line the most, but it's the most problematic. Basically, it takes the complexity of the MG and shrinks it down to HG size. Sounds great but small parts + complex engineer don't mix well. They can be very fragile. If you do go down the RG path, I recommend the Gundam MkII or Exia; those are by far the best in the RG lineup and suffer none of the issues mentioned.
The majority of the gunpla community will agree MGs are the BEST grade overall. They just offer the most in whatever aspect you want. However, their size and price is what keeps me from getting too many of them.
Last is Perfect Grade. There's not much I can tell you here other than it's the pinnacle of gunpla. They usually stand about a foot tall and cost somewhere in the $200 range. Try looking some of these up just to see!
thanks for replying man. appreciate your help
yea man MG is good but the price and selections of gunpla is what kept me from getting them. me and my GF decided to go HG because of affordability and selection of gunplas. most new gundams anime will end up in HG anyway so yea HG it is lol.
i really like the RG Wing Zero Custom tho. hopefully its good :)
kenny samia You've heard his answer, now lemme tell you mine from the perspective of an MG collector. MGs are like what TYPE V3 said, more stable and sturdy than HGs. However MGs that aren't stable or sturdy are usually ones that are transformable or most of the older MG kits that came out in the 90s to early 2000s, I think you may have bought some of the older kits which may explain why it collapsed since Bandai's engineering really wasn't as fleshed out back then as it is now.
For e.g. Take the RX-78-2 Ver 1.0 MG Gundam, this MG was great for its time but now its really outdated, quality is starting to die out and lack of extreme pose ability like what you see nowadays, inner frame limited to legs and in some cases arms as well, hands unable to carry weapons at all etc. It took Bandai till March of 2005 to release the RX-78-2 One Year War Ver Gundam where with new technology Bandai manages to fix some errors that were in previous kits, the most important one is the hands molded with pegs so that it can actually hold weapons (which now have holes for the peg) properly and is now the standard for all MG kits. The inner frame is still limited to the legs IIRC but it has been revamped and now poses better. After that the MG quality starts going up and some but not all old MGs got the Ver 2.0 treatment to go along with the One Year War ver update such as the MK-II Ver 2.0 (which revamped the inner frame so now the entire body is an inner frame, not just the legs. Again, a norm in MG kits today) and the RX-78-2 Ver 2.0 etc. IF you were to collect MG then I suggest collecting ones made after 2005.
But of course, the HG kits. Generally every mobile suit will get a HG kit first usually because the line is cheaper and more cost effective than MGs and so the selection of Gunpla is the highest compared to other grades. In most situations, obscure Mobile Suits would be too expensive for Bandai to release it in MG form since not that much people may want to buy an obscure kit at such a high price so it is usually released in HG form to alleviate it. Plus it's small size means it has more 'play value' (and I emphasise play value because model kits are usually display piece but you can play around with them to a certain degree) just like the deluxe class in Transformer toys. However due to its size and cost that means Bandai will understandably take cuts with its paint application forcing you to either use the seals or paint it yourself to complete the look.
If I were you tho, I suggest to go ahead and keep collecting HG kits because of its cost, size and a vast selection of Gunpla to choose from, as well as add ons such as weapons and Hangar Base diorama sized for HG. There is a lot of things you can do with the HG line. I personally still gonna collect MG kits because I like things big (no innuendo intended), more details meaning I don't have to resort to painting every single time to get that level of detail, an inner frame, much more enjoyable build due to more part count, more poseability and really eye catching even straight out of the box. But in the end that's your money so use it wisely.
should I get this HG version of EXIA Dark Matter or the MG version? which is the better figure/model?
Angel Torres MG
***** still waiting for your review of the MG....
+Kaiqi Zheng most likely not going to do it just saying
+Kaiqi Zheng most likely not going to do it

Can this kit be created back into the standard exia? I really want to actually create the amazing exia that yuuki had made!
man i really feels bad for you, it’s been 7 years and no one replied to you :/
