This opens up a whole new world of trolling for Wilbur. He could just hit people through the blocks he phases through.

That might actually be why the bug even exists in the first place. It might be something related to the Phantom.
It might be related to the fact the enderman race has +1 block of reach
You could make a secret door with this. Place a strider/horse/pig behind a wall and then ride it through the wall, since it’s not just hitting you can interact in any way (Ranboo picked up the Axolotl with a bucket)
also, minecart chests in walls will be a secret chest that only he can enter

@@sleepdeprived5354 They actually do! You can /summon boats, they have an entity hit box, and they fully count as entities!

I appreciate that you cut to Fundy and Niki's perspective of them experiencing it as well.
There's also a clip of tubbo punching nikki through the glass in the pub- so it's more likely a problem with the version or origins that causes it to happen rather than ranboo's extra reach or with axolotl models

I guess it's probably because they had to change player's size for origins like Sneeg's or Fundy's. The hitboxes were written in the way to not interact properly with blocks so that they could normally move, but the same script cancels the interaction with the block and allows players to interact with other entities through blocks. At least that's how far I know from programmer's eye. The best solution would probably to change the hitboxes from different entities. They might not be intact but would help fix this bug.
That's where my knowledge stops. I am not an expert into this stuff so I won't say anything, it's just a theory. A GAME THEORY! Thanks for reading.
no, this is a glitch with 1.17.1 itself it happened on an smp i was on, were people could hit thru the glass panes and glass any other block used as windows (like solid blocks, fences and fence gates) stopped it. (Edit i saw more of the video and they were able to hit thru normal blocks, so i guess you were kind off right)

Well, his origin does have extra reach and it could be due to the fact that it needs to work with entities too and what happens when someone is facing a block minecraft sets their reach distance to however far that block is and then the origin is adding to that so he can grab the axolotl.
True, it can be that also but it doesnt really give an explaination how people on the smp i was on could also hit thru the glass panes (+we werent using any mods so idk)

They must have been trying to make the phantom a bit better but accidentally made it for everyone
This was already known cus tubbo hit him on the roof before he was up there and Fundy punched niki through the glass on the first day. Just server lag
How would that be server lag? It's not a time desync, and it's the client that needs to think there's nothing blocking, not the server

@@ITR the server doesn’t have time to manage that it’s a block in the way so when the entity is in range it doesn’t register that it’s blocked off and can’t be hit. Same as it doesn’t have time to register that it’s the same items and won’t stack

I bet a chest Minecart would work as their an entity. Seems to only be entities that you can interact with through blocks. Very interesting bug

I played this origin before, due to the reach box being extended, you can throw ender pearls through blocks.

its not because of his reach its just a bug on origins it happens to me on my server all the time

I have a world with a duplication chest in the nether and the mobs move at, like, half the speed of a sheep. Also blazes spawned in the overworld sooo yeah I think it's just another one of the universe's mysteries
From my knowledge, this has been a thing since 2018, it was probably patched in normal Minecraft and didn't get talked about, but maybe it continued to mods and stuff because it happens with every mod I have used.

It happens in base game, my hardcore world with a diamond armored zombie i have trapped and named David he hits me and i hit him through glass when i pass his cell. Anyways yeah no its been happening to me since 1.16.4 lol they amount of creepers ive killed from my window lol
Ranboo is not the only one who can do this since someone was hitting nikki when she was behind the glass in the pube.

This is a fabric/origins bug it has nothing to do with his origin, try setting up ur own server and test it!
