    I'm an 85 year old man. After practicing these steps every day for 3 months --- sometimes only 5 minutes at a time because my frail joints must have time to rest --- I feel 15 years younger. My granddaugher is so proud of me, I'll be able to walk her down the isle and shuffle at the dance party at her wedding. 😁

    It looks so easy when you do it man. Mine's a totally different strory😖

    I wish I was 25 years younger than I am, I'd be practicing these moves all the time. Still at 45, I'll give it a go and practise my " dad dancing".
    Thanks Harrison, your a fantastic dancer and great teacher, keep up the good work mate 👍

      it’s annoying how as soon as you get older dancing becomes ‘dad’ dancing

    • @williamcoatman5547
      @williamcoatman5547 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Mate if you practiced and got as good as him nobody would call you a dad dancer. I don’t think there’s anything prohibitively athletic about this style to stop you doing it at 45. Just a couple thousand hours practice and you’ll smash it. Maybe some testosterone replacement therapy wouldn’t hurt either to get your joints bouncy again 👌👍

      45 is still young :) There are people in their 70's shuffling. So keep praciticing. Its great excercise and a great skill to have.

    What is the difference between Steps 2 and 3? Is it just Step 2 you have your toes off the ground with the front foot, and in 3 you have a flat foot?

    I’ve never danced in my life but I’m absolutely in love with Cutting Shapes since I saw it earlier this week. I’m a bit overweight but slowly starting to get the Charleston & RM down but I feel like I’m stomping on the ground almost. Does this just get better overtime or an I doing them wrong?

    • @skoomaenjoyer9582
      @skoomaenjoyer9582 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Sorry z I’m quite underweight and I’ve been hitting the ground like an elephant, Im sure with more practice and better form that force gets mitigated

    • @omkarpande8
      @omkarpande8 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Dude I learned Charleston in 3 months.
      Just by practicing slowly anyone can master.

    • @CALISUPERSPORT
      @CALISUPERSPORT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yeah you'll get better for sure, you see overweight guys cutting shapes at raves. I think the main difference is they have to generate a little more force for their hops, so they aren't quite as nimble but they can still match the beat. To avoid stomping I just utilize toe strength more. Your calves will burn but you'll get better.

    Great vid, BUT. Why do all shuffler tuts insist on wearing black pants Lol! makes it hard to tell which leg is which for beginners. Once you reach intermediate the movements are easier to catch onto, but when I was first starting out I had a hard time.

      Same, I think it needs to be broken down into steps/ counts. Every shape and step has to hit a count, so an audio breakdown with each step on the count would be helpful

    Good in terms of variety but for a total beginner I’m finding there’s not enough time spent on each section to really break it down. Rewinding isn’t ideal because it’s still the same tempo, just a bit to quick for a total beginner I find! Thanks nonetheless
