Thanks for posting! Massive sounds great and I've already made some beautiful patches. I find the the reverb a tad bit better than Serum's so I've been on the fence about picking one to master. I've decided Serum and Massive will both be my bread and butter synths.
Not that it is of any true importance, but the 'AD' for the Internal Envelope stands for Attack/Delay. As you can see below the graph, the Internal Envelope is controlling exactly that; the Attack and Delay on which ever modulation you're altering. Thanks for the info in this video, I'm trying to get fluent with this VST, as using presets is really lame, and doesn't produce a quality product. It will be much more fun to mess with once I understand all of it's functions.
can't believe I never noticed the key tracking mod. Great tips. you got anything on the Routing Tab specifically? It's one thing I can't fully get my head around. awesome work!
Hi, is there someone that can give me any link on ~~how to perform~do a wub, not using fl studio basics but the typical ''crushing deep noise''. How to? thnks
I am curious about tip #1 ... It seems to me that this difference in the sound of the oscillators only happens when you use massive in a standalone mode... At least it has never happened to me when I'm using it in maschine. Am I right?
+Virtua you can kinda do it by using the stepper, but you will be able to do only the numbers of 1 to 12, not percentage per say. So you can do 50 %, 25% 33.3 % but not the whole range...
Virtua if you're asking what I think you're asking, I may have an answer. I'm not sure about other daws, but I know in fl, you can right click any know or parameter and then right click one of the little buttons in the top of the daw. not sure what that daw button is called tbh, but it will give you the option to create an automation clip of any parameter in any vst. that way you can really do some fine tweaking
good video was impressed from the first tip cheers tip 5 you need to explain that a bit more maybe show an example can you do on video on the modulation osc section please
I thought the video was a little poor because you talk about some of the features but don't demonstrate them which would be really easy to do. All you need is a basic sound on oscillator one to show how some of these things affect the sound. Almost makes the video pointless IMO.
do you know where i can find a video where they just simply explain each individual aspect of massive in detail? i don't give a fuck about learning how to make "that skrillex" synth, i just need a deep tut so i can really get started. I'm also not paying for a video course.
guys ... i recommend to all . first ... play the synth with your eyes,,, it means READ READ ,, .thats why they have this words printed there. if you dont know the word then look it up instead of trying to hear what it does like stupid and many times people will never ever know what they touch.this mentality maybe is not important if you mess with the tune or something that you can easily hear but most things you cant just hear.. so good luck if you try to read text with your ears.
Please change the title of the video to just "10 Massive Tips" - there is nothing here that's not in the manual, so I wouldn't call it advanced. :) Although I guess that a lot of people don't bother to read it. Personally I always read them cover to cover, as I always find out useful info.
advanced??? in what way?. key follow or this stuff are the things you do before you even choose wave in the osc .. like the first thing you do once you open the synth if you think are advanced maybe you should reconsider the definition of advanced and basic and maybe you have no idea what a synth is. m not saying this for this friend here that made the video ... god bless him and all the best to the kid . but i had to comment . once again ..m no offence to the guy made the video .. i support this.. knowledge shared... polyphonic --- uses many voices monophonic uses one retreger is press the trigger again ... mono legato is monophonic example imagine you speak and you say a word... like a AAAAAA that lasts for 3 secs in polyphonic when you press the key it will start and play that AAAAA ..but if you press the next key the synth will produce the next AAAAA but the first AAAAA will keep playing untill the release or anything that takes its time will finish ,,you will hear both until they complite the time they take to finish according to envelope ... release... ect ect retreger is like a human . you have one mouth,, you cant start the next AAAAA and still singing the previous one... you need to cut the sound and start the new one. so when a key its pressed in retriger the synth stops right there and doesnt complite the sound but plays the next one. mono legato is monophonic mode that allow you to play notes and if they overlap it glids (slide from one note to other its like it kills the attack of the sound and makes it one long lasting sound that slides from note to note. seriously if you think that this is advanced is actualy the most basic controls next to power on and off
I normally try not to comment on videos if I'm going to be negative since there's so much of that going around, but here is some (hopefully) constructive criticism: this video would be a lot better if it and you were more organized man. For a lot of the tips, you don't sound very prepared to explain them to the point where you come off as a lot less knowledgeable that I feel like you are.. (like when you bring up legato for instance, or not knowing if it's up or down on the stepper that shortens or lengthens the glide).. it just makes it hard to pay attention. Also, why explain what you're doing without giving the viewer a quick example of what your tip actually sounds like or what it can do? Just a suggestion, I was pretty disappointed in this video because of those two things.
Nice, just wanna hear the differences between the settings your talking about! Next time play it a bit!!
play it yourself man
can you imagine what this shit was like in the 80s. be thankful for this :D
We aren't in the fucking 80s
A trick: watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Abdullah Kaison yup, I have been watching on flixzone for months myself :D

Decay not delay but yeah.
can't believe I never noticed the key tracking mod.
Great tips. you got anything on the Routing Tab specifically? It's one thing I can't fully get my head around.
awesome work!
pls do a tutorial on the spectrum modes of the oscilators like formant, spectrum ... :)
Please explain the voicing tab
Hi, is there someone that can give me any link on ~~how to perform~do a wub, not using fl studio basics but the typical ''crushing deep noise''. How to? thnks
great vid. it would be helpful to hear massive when you were showing things like, different lfo ratio at 10:28
I am curious about tip #1 ... It seems to me that this difference in the sound of the oscillators only happens when you use massive in a standalone mode... At least it has never happened to me when I'm using it in maschine. Am I right?
No. It happens in maschine also.
anyone know if its possible to input a percentage or number into the knobs to get the exact rite pitching in filters and shit ?
+Virtua you can kinda do it by using the stepper, but you will be able to do only the numbers of 1 to 12, not percentage per say. So you can do 50 %, 25% 33.3 % but not the whole range...

Virtua you may also use macro controlls
good shit g had fun the whole time and learned a lot
Thanks you for all your great tutorials.

can you do on video on the modulation osc section please

You get what you pay for man... Look into getting a book on it. Or keep looking.
go to your documentation folder of massive, there you should find getting started manual
Thanks man. Great tips!
Thanks, man. This was really helpful.
super helpful thanks!
GOOD STUFF MAN, THANKS
Totally using a clip of you in a song. Everyone's doing the same thing. You know who you are. Or whatever you said. lol.
+Chad Schultz share a link or I don't believe you.

+summitthescale Check out the SadowickProduction channel and watch his Massive playlist. It's 20 videos and he goes over almost every aspect.

A nice tutorial eventhough it has no demonstration of the possible use of the stuff mentioned
I love how you know so much about all this crap but you don't know what legato means lol dig ur tuts though
wow sounds like this was before you got your ADHD medication. :3
Your right everybody is trying to sound like someone else
11:11 Oh, The grand old Duke of York

polyphonic --- uses many voices
monophonic uses one
retreger is press the trigger again ...
mono legato is monophonic
example imagine you speak and you say a word... like a AAAAAA that lasts for 3 secs
in polyphonic when you press the key it will start and play that AAAAA ..but if you press the next key the synth will produce the next AAAAA but the first AAAAA will keep playing untill the release or anything that takes its time will finish ,,you will hear both until they complite the time they take to finish according to envelope ... release... ect ect
retreger is like a human . you have one mouth,, you cant start the next AAAAA and still singing the previous one... you need to cut the sound and start the new one.
so when a key its pressed in retriger the synth stops right there and doesnt complite the sound but plays the next one.

This wasn't very good. The expletives are exceptional, though...
