The very air wing that is played in the mission is the one that deals the crippling blows to the Mogami; she would be later sent back to Truk and then to Sasebo for complete repairs would be battle ready in April, 1943. -A plane actually did crash into the Mikuma, but it was just hours before the events of this mission. An SB2U Vindicator crashed into Mikuma's rear turret. There is very little information as to who committed the suicide attack.

Check Midway movie its about this battle but Akagi and Hiryiu were actually sinked by SBD Dauntlesses not by TBF Avenger in that battle there were only Daunttlesses not Avengers

In real life, the Mikuma could only hold 3 float planes.

The Dive bombers were not fun to fly in this game. I had to do this mission with the wildcat.
