This by FAR was the best single that ended up being in his greatest album. Those of us who witnessed and got to live in this music era (btw this was literally the beginning and the song that kicked off the start of the best music era) are lucky to have lived, grew up to, partied and even witnessed this epic change in music. LIL WAYNE does NOT get enough credit for his artistry, talent, brains, and courage to change the rap game and creating the best music chapter in a single lifetime. This man right here changed the game. Everything he touched turned to gold. His style and unique eye and ear grabbed the attention of everybody, not just the kids of this time, the old heads, teens, soccer moms driving their kids to school, movies sports and all. Not only did his music paint the picture (like the song Mona Lisa painted the picture at the end of this legendary time in music) but even a mass majority of his music videos painted the picture and got his point across and was a "different view" on his own personal outlook on life. His songs and even videos were very descriptive and very detailed to where you could see what he was saying by "painting the picture" it was more than just finding words that rhymed and throwing a best over it. He broke down each and everything he said to tell a story and even branched out into different genres and COULD have done alot more for the music industry if only his following and rap industry would have backed him instead of holding him back from continuing to create the direction he wanted to face. It's a shame everyone whined about him branching off into other genre's wether it was the kids that were like "oh he's better at rapping he's a rapper, this song or album sucks cause I wanted him to rap in it, he's the best rapper alive.. he needs to stay away from rock and the other genres" or the music industry saying "we don't wanna endorse you going to other genres, we want you to be the rapper that we paid for. We want the traditional lil Wayne to be a rapper.. we don't care about your musical interests, we want you to rap and be unhappy being a musician" they did NOT care that he loved music so much and wanted to be a true artist and make his own tunes, they wanted him to make them a quick buck and do the easy way out... and after a while when you're being held back from being the artist you are and become unhappy... you lose things to rap or talk about because the interest in it is no longer there. His interest was to grow as an artist and explore new ideas and that's where his heart and head was at.. lil Wayne could of still been a hot commodity and making fire new music if people would have trusted his artistry skill. His love for music would of still been there and he could of continuously broke records and make even more art than what we all as a whole kept him from doing. No wonder he wanted to break free from the record label he was in. They were only holding him back from being an artist but at the same time, THEY were his platform and attention grabber at the same time. He practically bought his way OUT of the label so he could become a free artist to do what HE wanted to do but they stripped him of all his tools he had and probably had to sign contracts on what he could and couldn't say and use. And probably feared his life at the same time because they don't like when their money cow becomes free from them cause he longer can make them any money, and also don't want him doing better without them and if he WERE to do better without him.. they would only hunt him down because they feel like they made him but at the same time HE MADE them as well. I'm glad Wayne is free from it, it's sorta bitter sweet if you think about it because I'm glad he's free from them but I'm also sad to see him go because together they made awesome music if only he had more freedom to do what he really wanted to do. (I hate to see her go but I love to watch her leave). There were many messages to us, other artists, to the industry and label as well in many songs that fit well into songs that fell into the illusion that the song was about one thing, but his feelings made the song to be actually meant for another if you listen to them. Many many messages in here, just like his friend Marshall Mathers otherwise known as Eminem, did this very thing too... sometimes alongside WITH Wayne. Lil Wayne is and always will be a legend even after he is long gone, no one will be able to touch lil Wayne (AND Eminems) artistry talent. Both of them really complimented eachother well in their two very different styles and approaches in a similar way that Biggie and Tupac took over for a while. The only difference is Em and weezy got to live to see it come to and end (while leaving us hungry and eager for more) but Em and Wayne did it even BETTER, for the sheer fact that Tupac and Biggie just rapped better than their peers and got attention where as Wayne and Eminem took the rap game by the balls rapped better, had the attention, kept the attention, painted pictures and took what was rap, and changed it into something NEW. The one thing I wish before I die, that would mean more than the world 🌎 to me before they, or i am gone.. would be for them to make one more big hit together to prove the world they the STILL are and ALWAYS will be the best rappers alive... and to meet them both (even if it was at the same time) maybe have something signed by them and have a 20 or 30 minute conversation with them because I appreciate their music and talent THAT much and could go on even longer about everything I have noticed about each of them individually and their achievements and talk to them one on one, not even just speaking to them as a fan or fans point of view but as a person. I'm a military vet, I'm no longer in the service due to my medical discharge and have had a tough life that many people have told me they can't believe I've made it alive out of. From years of extended abuse and hard times that I would actually feel comfortable sharing with them just for the sheer fact that THEIR music (not ANY other artist) and I mean THEIR music alone took me out of the bell that I lived in and put me into a place that was okay for the time being for those few minutes each of their songs put me into. It made what I was living in just bearable enough to push through and continue simply existing without ending my life on multiple occasions during this time in my life because I felt like someone "gets it" I'm not alone I'm feeling the way I do, and someone else feels it and has enough courage to not only put it on paper, but to voice it for the rest of the entire world to hear it (not only hear it but be able to recite every dam word) to how they feel. Almost like it was to let me (the listener) know that it's okay to feel and overthink EVERY little thing that happens or is said. Because I do. If I could have anything in the world, it would be to be IN THE PRESENCE of what kept me alive... and kept me going. . . And even in 2021 I am still going through and going back to ALL of their music and appreciating each of them and each of their songs and albums the way that I did when I heard each of them for that very first time. I love you Wayne and I love Eminem for what they did and sacrificed for themselves to be happy and for the music brought forth for us to enjoy in a time of hell and nothingness. Before you guys it was like a black and white television. You Wayne, and You Eminem brought color to this colorless bland life that we all were trapped in. The world has not been the same when you started and will never be the same when you guys finally feel like retiring the mic. If you never see this comment, it'd be a shame... because you deserve to know how much you ARE appreciated and have done for a lost fan (a random simple human) in the crowd, and how much your art has impacted a single person. I hope you do get to read this before the chance is gone, because this means to me enough to be possibly made fun of or laughed at on social media over cause you just deserve to know. Thank you. ❤ - a true Stan and a Dear Anne. 👀 👁 .
