    Lol...
She didn't tell her mom that she was going to drop to her knees, and her poor mom had her heart skip when Billie went down 😅 . She's edgy and creative... but above all else, still loved. :)

It almost looked like she tripped on her pants, but it worked! Her mom commented she probably did it on purpose but her knees were super bruised afterwards.

I don’t read into the lyrics as 100% literal . In the beginning there are 3 people behind her. I take them to be her family ( mon dad Finneas) who, even when she can’t see them they’re there and they have her back. Conversely The figures behind her in the second verse have multiplied; I take those to be the things that follow her( see or not): fans, stalkers, all the management, agents, stylists etc .
In the first half the cars are coming at her- fast and blinding. The cars = the fame. In the beginning one craves the fame but when it comes in the way that it did for her , it’s the darkness in which you can hide/ disappear. It also drove her into a very dark place emotionally and mentally. When she says “ you hit me so hard, I saw stars” YOU = FAME. And it drove her into deep darkness ( which you need- literally- to be able to see the stars.

At first I thought the last part was about a relationship but now I think its more about her career. "Did I take it too far when I sold you my heart. You hit me so hard I saw stars." Feels like her thoughts about how fast fame hit her.
Honestly I think this album is going to tell a story of all the things she's had to go through fighting for happiness. I cant wait for it. Good reaction 👍

this is exactly how i interpreted that line. The "Did i take it too far, when i sold you my heart" maybe was about how excited she was when she started blowing up but then it turned out to have some mayor repercussions? specially with the other line "I can barely go outside, i think i hate it here"
      idk lol

Just 3 things: You should hear it with headphones, because there's a lot of things that can only be heard with them, and 3D sounds and stuff. There's people behind her in the video that go away when she looks, that represents stalkers and people watching her all the time, as well as she standing in the middle of the road means her fame and carreer with constantly adversities coming at her.
The end of the song is the same as the beginning of Therefore I Am so in the album it sounds fluid.
    I loved the reaction 🔥

Billie always has several different meanings behind her videos. And she wants people to interpret it how it makes sense to them.

I saw a film maker react and he said he thought the cars were in sync with the emotions expressed in the song. When it was hectic, they were, etc. I hadn't noticed but it really makes sense.

Love this song! Definitely hits deep on the fact that people don't even have to be famous when living a blue collar lifestyle & able to buy things others can't while certain ones get jealous keeping a close eye on you from a distant hoping to weasel there way into your life to take advantage although your fully aware of there hidden deception. 🎸⚡⚡⚡

I feel like you have to look at the songs on the album in order that they're presented to get an idea of what they might be about. NDA is preceded by Your Power and it blends into Therefore I Am.... "I'm not your friend..." followed by Happier Than Ever - "When I'm away from you I'm happier than ever..."
I feel like the album explores maturation, what she likes, finding independence, strength and self acceptance. Boundary setting and distancing from toxic relationships are on there too.
The album has social commentary in Not My Responsibility about the bizarre absurdity of the scrutiny public figures face; she saying those opinions of her are not her responsibility.
In Male Fantasy, she freely acknowledges that she has been or continues to attend therapy. She has said in an interview she was addicted to pornography. The song sounds like it was to distract herself from a breakup and depression.
It seems like she's been through a lot and is more centred now that she's coming to terms and dealing with issues.
It feels like she's found her power and is demonstrating that it's okay to feel how you feel, that you need to give yourself permission that personal growth takes time, and even she needs help with these things. She expresses a range of emotions from outrage to hopefulness about the future.

I really enjoyed your reaction, I interpreted it a bit differently, but that's what Billie likes. she wants people to take away what ever they want from it. seriously though, you should learn more about her and do more reactions! I really enjoyed this reaction, some people get way too crazy and ruin it. love your vibe! do more reactions to her ❤
