I suggest making an account on Lace Market! You can sometimes get really great used brand dresses for a good price :3 Closetchild is another great one too! They have physical stores in Japan but ship pretty much everywhere and they do a really great job of disclosing any damage to their items. Plus, a dress could have absolutely nothing wrong with it but because it no longer has the price tag attached it’s “used” and goes for much much cheaper!

I wish we could have cons over here in the UK, but the only anime con near me has been postponed both last year and this year. I have to wait until June 2022 until I can go to a con again. T^T
Anime cons have fallen a bit in my opinion, like 15 years ago (god I'm getting old) the Melbourne anime festival was held at Melb University so there was a lot of opportunities for anime screening in dark projector rooms, then it got waaaay bigger and they moved to the showgrounds and made it almost exclusively about the cosplay contest and the market stalls. After that it died after a few years because from what I understand all the people that were passionate about it left and then there was nobody that could truly run it and the con imploded. I think I know the con you went to and honestly it just seems like paying to go buy things. I think it was a cute haul all the same.
