Then Magnum PI traded his 308GTS Ferrari for it and did a complete restore to the Herbie car...as long as it was all documented, the history is worth more than the car. Imagine when some kid in 2083 gets this thing, does his homework, finds some history on the way-back machine ... World Famous Go Kart TH-camrs modified this thing 60 years ago, and he has all the parts for the basket-case Tin Lizzy. After restoration it is appraised at $456,529,683.11 (equal to $684.56 in 2022 dollars). Hypothetically of course.

Good job on keeping the integrity of the go kart guys. Red Beard's Garage is doing something similar, and I winced when they took a cut off wheel to the fiberglass arches on theirs.
Yeah things like steering bushings could be upgraded, same with steering wheel connection. Get the slap out of it and its different animal all together. For more upgrades i'm bit mixed.. since you just cant get the original stuff no more so upgrading it fully is kinda ruining it, but other hand you get more usability out of it.
you guys are doing something that imo, even tho appreciated is under appreciated. for example, some guy is modfiying his go-kart, same engine, maybe has the same problems, needs the same fixes, is stuck. he cant find your video with one search, but if he keeps digging he should and all his problems and 12-24hrs of trouble shooting is corrected in 30mins-1hr. I hope this channel stays up forever and helps people for decades if not centuries to come. keep goin!
I like this cart. It's a neat lil cart. I love how you guys DIDNT DRILL THE BODY, and made everything reversible. I don't think the wheel style goes with the body though. And way to much poke in the rear. Either way. Another fun one from the cars and camera boys

Dad and I reworked a small model T parade cart for a friend. We had a ton of fun working out all the gearing to make it suitable for his young grandchildren. When we were finished it creeped for their young age but, we left growing room to make it fun for adults when needed/wanted.... Great video, thanks for sharing! it was not a Shriners Model T, this was a fiberglass body and the truck style.

Love those 10" wheels on the front, I've got three of them on different mini bikes. Here in South LA, The trend is gear them real high and make the motor stout. Its pretty scary on a 5" or 6" turf tire, the 10" Azusa and MoPed tire makes them way manageable above 40 mph. My go to bike has the GPS front fork kit as well, made a huge difference. That thing needs a Pick Up Bed and a couple of big square lantern headlights.
It looks killer with the new wheels. It was fun watching the transformation. I always wanted one when I was a kid. I remember the Shriners would zig zag in the local town parade with about 5 of them.
Fellas. Been watching for years. This Model T is a hot rod. Don’t apologize for changing anything. You are doing this in the spirit of hot rods and this has been done for decades. From my experience in the custom automotive world. Originals are nice, but kustoms have always sold for way more than originals. Idk why but there always seems to be those 6 figure people out there that see the kustoms and are like i gotta have that! And pay up for it. Great vid as always guys!
Hey C&C That model t body looks relatively simple to build my thoughts are this used sheet metal for the body and a custom 2 or 4 seat frame maybe engine and drive train you have a lot of options Lawn mower transaxle Normal gocart drive train Maybe modified automotive drivetrain Be really cool if yall built a Model t inspired cart that yall could thrash on or drive around at swap meets hell even a parade car to adverise the channel or advertise go power sports
its not a mower transaxle all mowers are vertical drive and use vertical shaft engines (besides a couple 70s cub cadets which have a 90 degree gearbox to run the belt drive) this is a custom built system

Could you get a more positive engagement on the reverse pully by filling the pulley's belt groove up with a piece of belt just the circumference of the groove so that the friction is more efficiently transferred for reverse?

You guys should try and build two more and do your own Shriners show. I remember the old guys putting on a show with about 20 of these little old cars with their red Shriner caps on their heads, raising $$ for the children's hospital. Maybe you guys could find some other cool Shriner vehicles for sale. Build your own a bit bigger with better suspension would be cool too. Those rims and tires bring it to the next level man, gorgeous
There was an amusement park called Ky kingdom and I went almost daily as a kid and they had a dozen or so of these and I rode them several times a day….. always wanted one and recently found out a childhood friend is a Shriner…. 🤞 he is looking into it for me so hopefully I can score some cool old Shriner carts
I'd love to see you guys put a Wisconsin v4 in the front and have the headers come out of the body down the side like a rat rod, it's killer the way it is already but that's just an idea
@@dougscott8161 nah eveyone does that, a v4 would be unique and alot more cool. The Wisconsin v4s have a forged crank cast iron block forged connecting rods and aluminum pistons, so simple but yet so strong. Some new tech like valve springs and a dual carb or quad carb setup would make this 38hp motor make like 50 or more easily
my only gripes are 1: The regular washers you used to secure the rear wheel hubs to the axle. I personally would have used hardened washers instead. 2: Adding that much HP I would do something to repair/replace the front axle control arms. Other then that this project is awesome. I used to love seeing the Shriners in there carts during parades. I've never seen one this cool though. The tires make it for me. I would love to come work on a project with you guys. you guys should do a raffle for a fan to come help on something. Just a thought
Remember . Axles are considered semi consumable . Which means you eventually have to replace axles just like bearings tires and whatnot . You didn't hurt a thing . In fact you've improved on an existing product . Awesome
Those wheels looked like they came off of a kids bike. There’s no way they would have held up driving it in those conditions even at 7.9mph. You have basically preserved that go cart by doing those bolt on mods. Looks badazz

I was thinking along the lines of a 670 Harbor Freight Predator engine, then whatever mods you might throw onto that.

I used to love seeing the Shriners in there carts during parades. I've never seen one this cool though. The tires make it for me. I would love to come work on a project with you guys. you guys should do a raffle for a fan to come help on something. Just a thought

Remember . Axles are considered semi consumable . Which means you eventually have to replace axles just like bearings tires and whatnot . You didn't hurt a thing . In fact you've improved on an existing product . Awesome

Those wheels looked like they came off of a kids bike. There’s no way they would have held up driving it in those conditions even at 7.9mph. You have basically preserved that go cart by doing those bolt on mods. Looks badazz
