It's fascinating how cigarettes after sex can transform any experience into a nostalgic, melancholic, and dreamy song. A lot of people say this music is for lonely people but I can't help but picture myself listening to this stuff with someone I really fucking like. Every. Single. Time.
Us sharing earbuds while we sit under a bridge while its raining. Us eating fastfood in a car while it's raining outside with this on the radio. Us laying together on a couch as we play this on a speaker when it's raining outside.
Tons of rainy coziness.
I recommend listening to Kid A by Radiohead, if you want more. That's the band that birthed this song in 2000 and the album is all about personal issues and feelings, very powerful
Listening to this with your closest friend while lying in the grass watching the stars. That's what comes to my mind when I hear this song.

I am from The Netherlands, I am now 25 years old but everytime I hear CAS it overwhelms me with pure nostalgia, melancholy and also a weird sense of calmness. I've had 2 girlfriends in my life and they both played a CAS song on the first day we spent together without friends around. I will never forget these magical moments but CAS also helped me go through some tough times. When I was 17 I did an internship in Malaga, Spain. It was a nice time but also one of my darkest and depressing times in my life. I was addicted to weed, felt alone and felt like I wasn't enough. I had this nice window frame (idk what it's called I'm dutch lol) but at these moments I would sit there in the warm Spanish breeze and just watch the people walk by and play CAS on my phone, one song after another until I almost finished my pack of Marlboro golds. These moments felt like time wasn't real, it both felt like time flew by and time has stopped completely. It really takes you to another realm of life.. So now, once in a while I take the time to listen to CAS songs and sometimes I feel like the happiest person in the world remembering the great times and sometimes I just sit down, smoke my cigs and just.. be.. CAS will always have a place in my heart. I wouldn't even consider them as my favourite artists but nobody has ever come close to this aesthetic and the emotions this band can give you. Truly, truly magical..

I was an exotic dancer in Waikiki from 1987 to 1996 - probably before the members of CAS were born and I can so clearly see this song as part of the soundtrack to my story. I wrote a book (#FaceValueBook) and will definitely be reaching out to CAS for collaboration when my book morphs into a film. xo

Ésta banda es tan importante y especial para mi. Literalmente me acompañó en cada día de mi vida desde que los conocí. Podría recordar con cada canción más de un momento vivido. Las pocas personas que conozco que les gusta no los consideran parte de su vida, excepto por una persona. No sé si algún día vuelva a encontrar a alguien que le pase lo mismo que a mi con Cigarettes After Sex, pero es increíble el sentimiento y cariño que le tengo a la banda.
