I want to think all these demos as alternate reality version of LP's most iconic songs. And in that parallel world, Chester had a beautiful childhood and still lives happily with his friends, family and fans.
@@BG12sofia Probably he wouldn't have written almost half the most iconic LP songs. Perhaps LP would have been popular for whole other new reasons. It's a parallel world.
I’m glad the version we have on Hybrid Theory doesn’t have the distorted, canny-sounding verses. I actually think having the quiet “so insecure” would’ve made the chorus we know much more powerful if it was introduced right before the last chorus. I think it was good choice to do away with the pre chorus layering of Chester’s voice. I’m indifferent on the bridge. I like how the vocals were brought forward in the final studio version, all in all.
My god, there is so much more meaning when the original sentence "fear is powerful" is connected with "confusing what is real". Well, crawling is a gem, this song is amazing in any way, specially the One More Light version. Thanks Linkin Park guys for sharing the demo version as well.
During the chorus, the vocals get lost in the mix. Its good that the final mix had the vocals brought out a lot more. I like the adlibs during the verses though, which I think adds a lot. I like the vocals during "so insecure" (the layering).
I like the version of crawling without a rap verse but the rapping here does sound so cool I wish they would have took Mike's flow on that and made a separate song instead of trashing it. I think it's one of his best flows even to this day

I remember hearing most of these demos back in 2003 when eBay was not even a decade old, I begged my parents to buy these two (obviously pirated) CDs containing most of these demos released in the 20th anniversary Hybrid Theory re release along with some live tracks (that are on here as well lol). In The End and Crawling demos to this day are still some of my favorite LP songs, along with Dedicated , Carousel, And One. For some reason I was expecting QWERTY to be on here, can’t find that on the mainstream music services. I’m just glad I can add these demos to my playlist now. Also there are a few more Hybrid Theory/Xero demos floating around that I wish were included, but I can see why they were left off. I really hope they release the Meteora demos some day. RIP Chester.
I love listening to old demos, and the ones I've heard from Linkin Park have been amazing - in a different kind of way from the "real" release versions. The thing that becomes very obvious is the songwriting qualities, and the search for That Sound. Wonderful to hear!
It feels weird, after the dreadful day of July 20th 2017 I never thought I would hear a new Linkin Park song. It may not be new but it still gives that feeling off with the different lyrics but the same voices
Back in elementary school I recommended Crawling to my friend. Later he said he listened to it but didn't seem like a real LP song. He said it sounded like 'a girl talking through a phone' and it was 4 minutes long. It is now that I realize he listened to this version. I didn't even know it existed until now.
I feel like my perception of Crawling underwent a full arc from meme status to sincere enjoyment as I listened to more different versions of it over the years.

I want to think all these demos as alternate reality version of LP's most iconic songs. And in that parallel world, Chester had a beautiful childhood and still lives happily with his friends, family and fans.
But then, if Chester had had a beautiful childhood, would he have written Crawling?
@@BG12sofia Probably he wouldn't have written almost half the most iconic LP songs. Perhaps LP would have been popular for whole other new reasons. It's a parallel world.
That’s a nice thought. I just hope he’s happy now wherever he is.
Yeah that’d be nice but… Would he have ever wrote songs like crawling, one more light, numb, almost every lp song?
@@BG12sofia Mike wrote the majority of the songs so I guees we would be alright.
I thought so, too!
My god, there is so much more meaning when the original sentence "fear is powerful" is connected with "confusing what is real". Well, crawling is a gem, this song is amazing in any way, specially the One More Light version. Thanks Linkin Park guys for sharing the demo version as well.

This version is way better
@Yagnesh Prajapati jesus fucking christ
@@HitlerGaymes123 it isn't
Crawling is my fave song of LP's and this version really does NOT disappoint! wow! Well done guys. thank you for releasing it to the world now
This version is way better.
I like this more. The song really needed a bridge and this delivered. A combination of the two would be wonderful.
I love the feat is powerful part
During the chorus, the vocals get lost in the mix. Its good that the final mix had the vocals brought out a lot more. I like the adlibs during the verses though, which I think adds a lot. I like the vocals during "so insecure" (the layering).
The beginning of the song gave me chills when I heard his voice, I was like wow.....
02:28 Wow! Why the producer removed this part? Too strong and awesome!
:O
It slows down the song
I like the version of crawling without a rap verse but the rapping here does sound so cool I wish they would have took Mike's flow on that and made a separate song instead of trashing it. I think it's one of his best flows even to this day
Listen to step up, high voltage, or any of the fort minor projects and you’ll definitely change your mind regarding his flow...
Mike is definitely better than many rappers we see today stop questioning his talent
Agreed this hits super different but I imagine so many people loving it if they heard it
I liked the rap from And One too and they let that go to waste.
@@gingaming_gg I like all of those bruh
Wow wow it's like 2015. LP posting a song and I hear Chester singing 🥺😍 you haven't gone . My Soul Saviour 🙌😍
1:23 they should have kept that for the first verse/chorus transition in the final product. It's so eerie and cool and works so well with the song.
I like this one
Love Mike's little solo that got cut and having Chester in the back towards the end of it 🙌
i like how the chorus builds up and then all the instrumentals are stripped besides the beat and mike has a verse on this

Rest in peace Chester. We love you!
QWERTY was written between Meteora and Minutes to Midnight I think. I love that song though, would love an official release of it someday
Somehow this happens to me too, i got all their (pirated) demos back then
Это офигенно. Спасибо из России!
why does the beginning sound so creepy, almost reversed..😭😭
Rip Chester and literal shoutout to Kelis for the reference at the beginning.
This should have a post production 💔💔💔
Linkin park , это рай для моих ушей! From Russia this love!
i love you Linkin Park
Damn, I was waiting to scream "CRAAAAWLING" at 2:27 and then Mike randomly starts singing
Much better than the original.
@@HitlerGaymes123 Debatable
@@HitlerGaymes123 i prefer tge original
Lol me too.
@@HitlerGaymes123 honestly I agree with you. Like it gave the song major variety and Linkin Park was known for that. RIP Chester❤
This is already so polished it’s nuts. They were already right there.
I’m still obsessed with the fact that Chester is stuck within these songs
That’s a dark concept to think about... like his soul became the lyrics he wrote years ago. That’s kinda scary. R.I.P. Chester
AHHHHHHHHHHH, I HATE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW
-Chester whenever the heck this demo was made
Чес, помним тебя. Покойся с миром.
why do we love the raw expression of these dark thoughts so much? 🖤
мурашки по коже от их музыки))))))))
Back in elementary school I recommended Crawling to my friend. Later he said he listened to it but didn't seem like a real LP song. He said it sounded like 'a girl talking through a phone' and it was 4 minutes long. It is now that I realize he listened to this version. I didn't even know it existed until now.
I feel like my perception of Crawling underwent a full arc from meme status to sincere enjoyment as I listened to more different versions of it over the years.
Very beautiful.
I don’t understand how 3 people dislike this?!? Seriously? Love the whispering Mike behind Chester.❤️🔥❤️

Love the demos, so creative and real.
Tem como não se emocionar com isso? Slk, LP será lembrado pra sempre.

Так непривычно слышать это в 2020, ощущение дежавю. Вспоминаю, как когда-то давно услышал релиз современного crawling. Даже появились нотки ностальгии

Or he voice in the chorus, but Chester fanboys arruined every Linkin Park video.

OMG!! I LOVE THIS SONG!👌✨ LP FOREVER!

this song is in my head !!!!
in your head only anime
I’m currently reading Jeff Blue’s book “One Step Closer: From Xero to #1”. I’m at the part of the book where the band brought this demo in among others. I can’t imagine that day for Jeff. That must have been a magical moment! And I totally agree with Jeff’s problem with the song (Mike apparently had a thing for rain metaphors a little too often for Jeff). I also think this was the first demo where Chester really shined........
Goosebumps and headlights? Linkin Park hasn't done that to me in a while. Yes. I love it.
this is so different and amazing, i love it. RIP Chester Bennington you are loved and missed dearly. sincerely your fans

This brought me back to the times when I used to be a confused teenager under the immense pressure of out performing others academically who always found comfort in linkin park's song.
