    A reminder that the As were told by Fisher to leave the field early.
    They didn’t and paid respect to their fans.
    This was the right thing to do, and mad respect to them for doing it 👏
    Screw Fisher- way to make Oakland proud one last time!

      Same here man. I have zero emotional investment from Detroit. Somehow, our teams never get relocated (I thought the Lions and Pistons just may buy it never happens) so you don't have to worry about that but also teams get relocated every day (look at the Arizona Coyotes now Utah Mammoth/Yeti) but for some reason this one stings a little.

    Oakland fans/residents I feel your pain. Especially with a HORRIBLE owner I understand the frustration. Being a SAN DIEGO charger fan it broke my heart when our owner dean spanos gave the middle finger to the city of SD and shipped them to LA! I haven’t been to a charger game or any NFL game since! Nor do I ever plan on going! The Spanos will never get another dime out of me! when the city of San Diego demolished the Murph (Qualcomm Stadium) I teared up! Just nothing but memories now. when my dad would take me to go watch Seau and Bolts or Tony Gwynn and the padres in the 90s! It’s a shame that ownership only cares about filling up their pockets instead of looking out for their loyal supporters! Sorry Oakland fans, but you deserve better!

    • @nelson0005
      @nelson0005 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I was about to comment about it, but it seems you've made the comment first. In truth, this will be the third time in A's history they'll be moving, having played in Philadelphia between 1901-1954 and Kansas City between 1955-1967. By that stretch, the A's actually lasted pretty long in Oakland.
      It makes me think about your Wimbledon situation, when they moved and became MK Dons. Though it seems most North Americans like us are used to teams being moved, it seems the reality is that a lot of fans are deeply rooted in their teams being based in their hometowns.
      Though it's all business in the end, I do feel sad for their fans. At the very least I hope a new franchise opens in Oakland, so they'll get to watch the MLB in their own backyards.

    I'm from Philadelphia, and while the A's aren't my favorite team, my father is a lifelong A's fan and my grandfather was around for the Philadelphia A's. Some of the best memories of my life are going to A's games on the east coast with my father. I didn't expect watching this to hit me this hard, but I feel such a strong connection to those fans and my heart is broken for that community.

    As a Padres, Red Sox and baseball fan I was there at the Coliseum to support the Oakland Athletics and the fans one last time. It was sad and emotional to see the fans say goodbye to the Oakland A's.

    Greetings from Spain. The Oakland A's are the team that got me into baseball, and it's sad to see them leave their home. At least the last game was a good one.

    Goodbye Oakland I hope someday who get a new owner who actually loves this baseball team and treats it with the reverence it deserves.

    "OKLND - It wouldn't be the same without the A's"
    - an old bumpersticker in Oakland in the 90s, the first time there was talk of the A's leaving.

    As much as I wish they could stay in Oakland, at leats their last game at Oakland was a win. This doesnt mean I am pushing off them leaving but I wish they stayed.

    As a Pirates fan, I’m constantly embarrassed and let down by my team but this game made me realize that I should be fortunate that at least I have a team. Sorry A’s fans. Sorry Oakland. You guys deserve way better

    The Oakland A's have given me so much as a diehard fan of the team since I was around age 10 or so. I stuck with them through and through. The team was always adverse to the 'bigger' teams, though much of my admiration for them was based on that. I have pity over those 'higher ups' of which we surely all know who has committed this against the team and its people. There has been much of this recently. We know of what will come to them and to us.
