How could comics have existed without Comicsexplained? This channel is so important.
Bobble Bibble ComicsExplained has always existed, it's kind of like the Speedforce.
You'd have to either sift through hundreds of issues and search for the comics you wanted, or just have a really cool friend who knew his shit.

Jon Kent and Tim Drake. I love that Tim Drake is such a threat to the machinations of multiversal threat that they had to take him off the playing field. That just confirms that I chose right in making him my favorite DC Character.
ZENDEL Brown I think there are only 3 people can deal with Dr Manhattan, 1st the Presents, 2nd The Spectre and 3rd morning star. there is no chance superman or any dc super hero characters can deal with Dr Manhattan.
I don't really understand why you're making this so complicated. It's not. New 52 Superman existed and had his own distinct back story, and post crisis pre flashpoint Superman also existed with his own history. Whatever caused the New 52 to happen, whether it be Flashpoint or Dr. Manhattan, two distinct Supermen existed. Then New 52 Superman died and turned to energy, which later merged with pre flashpoint Superman, making an all new Superman with both histories existing in one person.
But it’s not both history’s in one it culmination of both origins making it one which means the timeline doesn’t add up because if he neve existed and simultaneously existed how does that make sense. New 52 Superman was macking with WW pretty hard yet he had a family with Lois at the same time. Like huh?

Was it really that confusing to readers for DC to say "We had 2 Supermen. One from the Pre-Flashpoint universe, one from the New 52. New 52 Superman died, and now Pre-Flashpoint Superman has come back out of hiding to replace him. There were 3 Clark Kents, but one of them was Mxy, who wanted to fix the whole 'New 52 Lois Lane revealed New 52 Superman's secret identity' thing". At what point did we lose them?

Pete Ross DID appear in N52. He made various appearances in Action Comics. Also the N52 wasn't thrown into the bin it's just that the continuity of Superman is now a combination of elements of the N52 AND Pre N52
Thank You! I was beginning to feel that no one else got that the idea was to make two parts whole. That they didn't just toss out all the New 52 stuff but had to take out some Post crisis things as well and mix the best parts.

If Superboy Prime took on Dr. Manhattan, as a heroic act.. WOW... WHAT A TWIST THAT'D BE! He's like the only other DC char, that could *actually* beat him. By the time SBP was a reality bender, at the end of the cosmos, he was prolly as powerful or MORE powerful than Manhattan.. WOW, I'd love to hear that story!
Love your vids. I'm less knowledgeable on the newer stuff, soi those are useful rto give me an idea of where things are now, but I used to read a LOT of comics. I can easily go over details of them for hours, but can't recall where I put my phone down. :p

When they arrived in The New 52 universe, Lois and Clark settled in Salinas, California with their son. When the New 52 Superman died, they moved to Hamilton County.
It applies to just Superman. It is his history merged. That is all. That is why Connor is not there. The other new 52 characters are not impacted directly or retconned.

They pretty much had to retcon stuff out or else how were they gonna explain Wonder woman's relationship with Superman after he fused with New 52 superman.
Well Wondie is together with Steve Trevor again, so they could easily just sya their relationship didn't happen in this timeline. I mean Wondies memories are screwed up anyways, so her just forgetting the N52 Supes would fit the bill.

One thing that the New 52 Superman does have over the old is the costume. I like the modern take on his armor's origin, and that it looks like a cool turtleneck
This particular story comic just makes explaining Superman's current canon history that much more confusing.
The split Superman theory was perfectly fine, it fit with the N52/Rebirth landscape and allowed writers to have their younger, more inexperienced Clark but also the old one we know and love.
Why does this "retcon" of his history exists when it creates more confusion than answers any questions?
Having 3 Clark kents/Superman just makes no sense in the long run.

Aaron Latta it actually provides history, you know that thing that most kids hated in school bc it was uncool, of Supes that was wiped away with New 52. Basically THE NEW 52 messed EVERYTHING UP. It was D.C.'s way of saying fuck comics and their fanboys, we want to bring the comics in alignment with the toys and ultimately the films and video games. Dan Jurgens is correcting the New 52 bullshit.
Except Jurgens already did that by saying "This is the real Superman. The other guy you didn't like? Yeah, he's dead now. Dead and gone forever." But New 52 Superman just _had_ to come in one last time and throw a monkey wrench into everything.

I thought New Superman was about him and how he decided to move to China to be away from Reborn Supes but no just random Asian guy Superman.
I think it might have something to do with superboyprime, maybe he found a way to trap superboy outside of the current timeline? Remember he turned into time trapper and was the last surviving being in the dc universe? Maybe somewhere in that timeline he figured it all out. Who knows, only time can tell. Either way, we get to see prime and dr manhattan soon and that is SUPER exciting.

Every event in Rebirth had raised more questions than it has answered. Hopefully we get some real answers with Doomsday Clock.
I dont know if it has been brought up but I rather like the idea that when Barry went back to fix time Manhattan decided to fix time himself and thus screwed things up because both "fixes" happened at the same time and blended together thus why you have the cross overs of characters of pre-new52 and new 52

the one thing i am hoping for in the future is that we can finally have Jonathan Samuel kent aka superboy and Conner kent aka superboy coexisting in the same universe and they can become brothers because that would be amazing and so adorable that it would make my heart sing.
Mr. Mxyzptlk broke free of the prison he was put in, I think Mr. Mxyzptlk is in fact more powerful than Doctor Manhattan, I don't see a reason why he wouldn't be.

In the Superboy videos it was covered how if any Supermen crossed over into alternate universes they weren't weakened by that universe's kryptonite only by it's red suns. Was this the case for the pre-new 52 Superman exsisting in the new 52 universe before he merged with the essence of his new 52 counterpart?
I like the new 52 superman more than the pre-new 52 superman. He was refreshing, inexperience, unwise and does mistakes. He was basically superman in his first few years of being superman and had to learn through trial, tribulation and error so that he can learn, grow and develope to the superman we all know and love. But Hardcore superman fans have such a hard on to the old, tired and known superman of pre-52 that they didn't give the knew one a chance to grow and develope, granted some of the new 52 stories were bad but it didn't mean all in general were, there were some that was actually good. Superman Unchained was my personal favorite. Wish they didn't killed off new 52 supes, he's my favorite incarnation of superman.

Dr Manhattan is maybe still changing things, as in ongoing reality changing, meaning the comics don't even have to be consistent lol but seriously that is what i'm getting from this, hoping from this, that's it is THAT meta.

Okay: Flashpoint is reversed when Barry allows his mom to die, which causes timeline to start resetting to post-crisis time. Dr. Manhattan uses the timeline changing to carve out sections of reality before reset, including removing roughly ten years of history from our heroes, or deleting the older heroes' legacy altogether. New 52 is born, that is the universe and it's history at that time. Convergence event happens outside of time, bringing cities from various timelines and universes together. During this event, Post-crisis superman has his child with Lois, and in it's climax flies into the void to prevent the first crisis for happening, taking his family with him. Post-crisis super-fam arrive in New 52 in the background of the events of Justice League #1. Super-fam live out about 5-10 years of quiet life, while New 52 Supes is Superman-ing around. New 52 superman dies along with New 52 Lois, and Post Crisis Super-fam take their place. Mxysptlk captures the essence of New 52 Supes and Lois, with the intent to swap them for Post Crisis Supes and Lois, Leaving Post Crisis Jon with parents that don't recognise him (having never had a child). The two separate energies, Post-crisis and New 52, combine into the Reborn Superman and Lois, with characters pointing out that they fit together like opposite charges of a magnet. This creates the Reborn history, combining elements of both histories. Post-crisis history seems to take place up until the death of superman arc, at which point the New 52 history mostly comes in, except removing elements that contradict the previous years, and Lois and Clark getting married. Then the Post-crisis "super-fam living on New 52" history takes over, except again removing elements that contradict previous years. Then The events of DC Rebirth take over, once more with elements changed to fit in with the new continuity. New 52 superman wasn't an impostor, nor was his history an illusion. In current continuity, there has only been one Superman, one Lois and one Jon Kent. Hope that clears some things up for people :)

I hope the New 52 isn't just an illusion, it may not have been amazing, but it had great stories, and it would be just a waste to belittle such great lore. Like seriously, Batman had a great run, so did my man Deathstroke, and a lot more of other stuff as well.

If you look at how masterfully Star Wars has brought it's Star Wars Legends into the new Star Wars Cannon we will see it's echoes in DC Rebirth i personally think it's brilliant.
I don't understand how Barry's mother dying is what made him the Flash. Does that solely apply to everything Post-Crisis? Because before Crisis, both of his parents were alive and old.

I feel like you kinda said this, but what I took away from Superman Reborn is that when the n52 universe was created Superman was split in two (he mentions multiple times how he's weaker during Lois and Clark) and then recombined and their histories were merged when the N52 superman's energy fused with pre-n52 supes thanks to Mr Myx.

Lee Weeks draws an amazing Superman
in Superman Reborn its revealed the pre-new 52 superman and new 52 superman were split in half when the new 52 started for whatever reason. In reborn, it was the 2 halfs becoming the whole again while also resetting everything back to how it should be(how everyone thinks of superman, the people who know his identity and how he has the Clark Kent peraona, etc)

Easiest way to think of it is it's the post crisis origin and stories with the ONLY thing they kept from the New 52 version was his parents dying his senior year...everything else was thrown out, no relationship w/ Wonder Woman, and none of the horrible stories that were told during the new 52.
Pretty good video. The only thing I would say is that during Superman: Lois & Clark, Clark & Co. were living in California. They don’t move to Hamilton County until the beginning of Rebirth when they change their names from the Whites to the Smiths.

Taking Convergence out of this basically confuses things. You HAVE to include it because it explains the Pre-Flashpoint Superman's place in the New 52, going forward. It's important to the story. Both Supermen were two separate people. But they weren't split. Pre New 52 Superman is the one WE grew up with.
Pre flashpoint Superman starts in Dc convergence Superman( Not Dc convergence adventures of superman ).

Pete Ross actually was a character, he was he only person who knew that Clark was Superman. Pete's kid was actually kidnapped by aliens but the Legion of Superheroes stopped him because Pete's kid was actually going to grow up with them and completely change their culture. Making Pete Ross go absolutely crazy.

I think that everything that New 52 Superman did (except dating wonder woman) are all still part of continuity as something else superman did in his career. As you can see in the video, Superman is wearing the new 52 outfit when Lois reveals that she's pregnant, which I think means that you can put all of new 52 superman stories as just another adventure for superman

Probably happend, but with the Reborn Superman instead of the N52 one. But of course some things could be illusions, Wondie's whole N52 backstory was an illusion too, completely false as it has been revealed.
The events of Darkseid War happened, but differently. This is evident in Rebirth oneshot#1 when we see Grail and her "baby daddy"

Huh, I like how in the reconning of pre-disaster Krypton, they mix the styles of dress: Some are dressed like the 'classic' Kryptonians (capes and all), while some are dressed like John Byrne's re-imagining of Krypton ('Space-Elves', for want of a better word).

I get what they are going for with the character (a real life whining fanboy), but it doesn't make an interesting read for me.
The only person with Manhattan level power was Hal Jordan when he was God of Light for approximately ten minutes. He brought the Green Lantern corp back to 3600 Lanterns but deemed himself too strong and that a god shouldn't interfere and whatnot.
Pete Ross did exist in the New52 but he only appeared in a flashback backup story during Grant Morrison's run on Action Comics.
With the quotes about "strings" as the end of Flash 22, I have to wonder whether Dr. Manhattan himself is being jerked around by an unknown big bad.
