- Here's a random video of one of my favorite new Rhythm games, Pistol Whip.
In this video I'm kind of just demonstrating how Pistol Whip is meant to be played, shooting on the beat and making your own rhythms and whatnot.

Man i purchased this last night and it is the most fun i have had in VR in a very long time. I highly underestimated how exhausting it would be though lol Expect ALOT of sweat.
It's kind of ridiculous how fun it is to exercise with this game. Beat Saber is great, but this is more my speed. Your thighs get a workout, and on harder levels you will definitely sweat. What a fantastic ride.
Tey racket nx if u wanna work out. Or even more the thrill of the fight is a real strain on your body..
Looking for an addon for an Oculus Rift S so we can have some ventilation fans spinning to cool our foreheads playing this.

@@void9907 I recently went back to it after playing it daily for like 3 months a year ago. It's still just as fun as I remembered, but I can't even come close to the scores i was getting back then. It's damn hard until you get good!
I was so confused cause I'm a drummer and I was watching other players play this and they weren't on beat with the music at all. I swore that's how it was supposed to be played but no one was doing it. Watching you play I now know I am right. haha
Ha ha, yep, people tend to be really bad at this game for some reason. It's way more fun when you shoot with the beat.
@@CircuitLord I don't think that's the players fault exactly, the game could definitely do more to show the player when it's the best time to shoot for maximum score.
@@Strikerdoodle I mean, it's not that hard. You shoot with the beat, and the music is there to show you "the beat".
And if you're still struggling, there's even a vibration metronome thingy that vibrates your controller a bit on every beat to help you find it if you're having trouble.
if you have a gun and bad guys... who wants to sync up there gunshots to the beat. just have fun with it and blast away, the music is awesome though. and each to their own. i guess since im in the minority that doesnt find beatsaber fun it makes sense i prefer to play pistol whip like an awesome fast paced fps with baddass music instead of a rhythm game..

Its because most reviewers will just take the game at face value and base their review on the 1 and only experience of the game they had.
Shoot to the rhythm, its a rhythm based game.
I never thought I would have to use the term "uncultured swine" in a serious manner but damn, some reviewers really are uncultured.

Finally made up my mind to buy a VR and just bought the game today and I had no idea it was a rhythmic style game. I would have eventually found out but first 3 hour play through.. I almost like the intensity of not knowing. Makes it more chaotic than following a rhythm and I thought the music was there just for background noise. Awesome game though no doubt, no matter how you play it. Anything to get the blood pumping.
You make this look so easy, when i was palying this mission I felt like I was almost gonna break my back as I was crouching and bending all directions dodging stuff put you do it so casually

I always thought pistol whip was just beat saber and I didn’t wanna spend another 25 bucks for a beat saber shooting game but after seeing this im gonna get it. Great video!

It's not hard to do this, also real firearms have weight to them and don't have automatic aimbot (atleast yet)
I feel like he was playing on deadeye wich means no aimbot actually hard if you wanna kill everything and not just trataratataratrt with dual pistols ending up with 3% accuracy.

Hi, recently aimbot bullets are being developped in the USA to help soldiers o the battlefield. Cyberpunk 2077 "smart" weapons are on the way, sir. hiding behind a rock won'\t be of any help soon
Do you even understand that this is nothing like shooting a real firearm an that the game use HUUUUUGE aim assist xD ?
None of thoses bullets will hit if that was a real gun.
Even after all these years. The fall is still hands down my favorite track to play.
This is amazing. The Fall is really the hardest song because the enemies shoot so fast, I struggle even with normal.
A rhythm game that doesn't force you to play with the rhythm but it feels so cool to do that that you just can't resist it
Sometimes when I play Pistol Whip I just looks straight forward and shoot the guys with my peripheral vision.

@@griz8540 The developers said a PSVR release will come at post-launch for PC VR and Quest, but not right now.

Wow, thanks so much for this. I'm surprised the in-game tutorial doesn't doesn't highlight playing to the rhythm. Having been a Guitar Hero fanatic in the 2000s, this makes the game so much better, and I can clearly see that the developers intended this based on when the enemies pop out, their armor level, and shot duration. The "on-rails" auto running actually seems quite similar to the Guitar Hero fretboard coming at you.
I think it’s because it’s so you decide how you play enjoy the game for yourself without putting pressure on you. I don’t think the developers want to have impact on your playstyle.
There's haptic feedback so you can feel the beat throb in your hands
Don't know if they changed it, but the tutorials on PSVR2 has a level for shooting to the beat.
I like how you're actually creating your own rhythm and playing along with the song. I'm able to shoot to the beat, but being able to throw in quarter notes or half notes and get creative is where the true depth of this game lies IMO.

I know this comment is very late but how do you shoot on beat so well, even after practicing and focusing on beat a lot I never can get a good score, I've only gotten a b once.
Virtual Saber make your own beat out of the beat of the song and it will come
You can go into the game settings and turn on the metronome function and that will cause your controllers to vibrate to the beat for you!
Rye in a way you have to remember to CONSTANTLY MOVE but make sure you’re moving to your idea of what the beat is. It took me forever but I can play this song almost perfect on hard now. Best song ever.
This is the stuff that's convincing me to get a VR headset.

Can't believe you would even think of being clever and shooting to the beat.. The game has cool music in the background to shoot to, totally not cool music for you to shoot TO the beat to.

(That was all sarcasm btw... and I'm actually really happy to see someone ACTUALLY caring about the beat of the song instead of just shooting the enemies as soon as they show up.. because many people don't realize, if you let them shoot at you, their shots and projectiles you dodge go with the beat to the song as well.)

pretty damn impressive. i personally prefer to just play it as a shooting game with awesome music. much more fun, and then dont feel silly with the syncing of my actions to music. but i am still very impressed with this. clearly the way you are supposed to play.
Honestly the hardest part for me is shooting on the beat when i know i'll have to dodge. I don't have any issue staying on beat but noiw seeing this i know i can do more as it felt at time slike i could not tap fire more than twice in time. No idea wher ei got that from. Ontop of that i'm fighting years of time crisis an dfps games wher ei just shoot as enemies appear on screen haha.
Yeah, it can be kind of hard to do it, but once you're good at it it makes the game a whole new level of fun.
one small detail i think a lot of people miss is that the sound that the bullets make when they pass near you tunes itself to the song based on the key. very subtle but makes the experience a lot nicer

A lot of people miss the point of the game and just spam bullets instead of shooting on beat.

You can shoot the armored guys a few times to get extra points before whiping them btw

Damn I really wish more levels were as bright and upbeat as The Fall.
No hate but ur supposed to shoot the armored enemies and then pistol whip for the extra points. A chestplated grunt is 1 shot then pistol whip, and a full armor grunt is 3 shots then pistol whip. No armored grunts u just pistol whip :)
This game is much more fun with aimbot off.

I stil dont get it. I play it like theres a beat like every single second there is "dum" and enemies go bright for a seceond and the I shoot them but it seems to be wrong
I don't care if you get additional score. All I know, is that I have to take Bottomless Burstfire and kill.

Just wanted to say, I saw this video and thought, "What a pointless video, how else would you play it? Of course you're meant to shoot on beat, who doesn't do that? (or at least try to)".
Then I read the comments, apparently there are a lot of videos of people who just shoot without going to the beat. Weird lol. Guess that's what I get for not really watching gaming videos.
Dat game needs mods/more better known tracks so it can blow up like beat saber, juuussttttt don't let it get bought by facebook and do as if you would not support modders whilst making it easy for them with an extra mod folder in the game files

I'm honestly impressed, whenever I play pistol whip I play with two hands for aiming a single pistol
If you play the game like this, it gets easier, so you SHOULD do that. But there are stages where you shoot in-rythm even if you suck, since they spawn in rhythm.
How are people playing if not like this? That's the whole point.
I focus on the drums and i use the gun as a snare sound to keep me in time
Dude has 15 bullets in magazine but plays like it holds 5
there is three ways to play;
1. you shoot on the beat with the right amount of bullets per enemy and do some sweet melee on beat aswell.
2. you add some modifier like deadeye and see how bad your aim is without the assist.
3. John Wick mode, fuck the beat. just kill and survive the lvl.
I am more of a 3 than a 1 but 2 is fun sometimes aswell.

This is why they need a more in depth tutorial: going over shooting to the beat , dodging, armored enemies, and of course, pistol whipping
There's also a bass sound for the pistols you can use that also sounds epic. Also great accuracy!
