This is a huge promotional exercise to make the Perth Mint look good after the mess they got themselves into. Buy Silver if they have any left, and don't let them "store it for you", take delivery.

Why can't customers take possession of 1000 ounce bars? Why are large North American dealers and the Comex shown preference over the people of Australia? Why is there report after report of customers who are being told it will take 4 months to secure physical? Are you counting leased metals from other vaults as allocated? Are you running a fractional system? Are you charging storage fees for allocated metals and customers can't take delivery on? Are you or have you been affiliated with the Rothchild banks? Where are the tough questions Sky? Sounds like an infomercial for the Perth Mint. At 5.32: "silver market is very deep...billions of dollars traded everyday...been a move to squeeze the silver market and create an artificial shortage...for profit". Fact: there is around 100 times more 'paper silver' sold than actually exists. This is what is traded. Many think they own silver, but if everyone stood for delivery only around 1% could actually get their silver. People are waking up to the fact that their silver does not exist and are demanding the product they paid for delivered - how is this "creating an artificial shortage"? If there was no actual shortage the Perth Mint and others could simply ship the silver. And dah everything everyone does in the markets is for a "profit" why else would you invest?

Shocking to hear the last part about silver. The interviewer says "The silver price has been really rocketing lately, and it's been driven higher by Reddit Investors, similar to the Gamestop price earlier this year".
    That is complete nonsense.
The first thread on Reddit was the last week of January, and the price of silver is down 5,6% in usd terms in 2021. The increase of the silver price was the spring/summer of 2020. The Reddit users would not have any chance to change the paper silver price, the price movements in the SLV-market are driven by giants.
But what people could do is to buy Perth Mint's beautiful coins. The CEO should be happy and try to sell more. But in stead of saying so, the CEO compares the situation with the Hunts brothers in the late 1970's. And he does not say anything that the reason why the Hunts failed was that the rules were changed, only allowing selling of new contracts, forcing the price down. As a CEO he should know the history. The situation is not the same at all, there is now a huge future need for silver to meet increased demand for electric vehicles and solar panels.
The paper silver market is deep, but the physical silver market is not deep at all.
And it is mind blowing to hear a CEO that sounds like he does not want to sell his physical silver. Short?

The crypto crowd say that eventually gold and platinum etc will see a big drop in value due to metals recovered from asteroids but there are two things they overlook, that process is self limiting as recovering the metals is only worth it if they are valuable and the chance of us having an asteroid mining industry in space before general purpose quantum computers wipe out a lot of the crypto currencies is unlikely, so gold is still a safer bet for now. Ultimately the most valuable thing in the universe is _time_ as almost everyone wants more of it in the end and it is the limit that places a value on anything computed or constructed if we have AGI and nanofabrication systems that can make anything we want, combined with advanced nuclear physics capable of transmutation of elements, a technology that is already being developed for nuclear power and waste processing using particle accelerators and fusion based neutron sources.
