May you guys please make a video on how to defense from the various spots on the field (I.E. defending from "X", or Defending from "GLE", or defending the crease.) . Thanks.
I love your informative videos, they really help me to understand what I'm stringing and why a stick is throwing the way it is! I was wondering if you have any new Optik U patterns? I've been using your first one but I was looking more for a midfield pocket. Thanks for all you do!
Can yall do a catch video? My past few string Jobs have been catching a bunch and I really want to know how to prevent that because I am not a huge shooter. Thanks.
Hey guys, I"m a big shooter on my team but I'm not shooting as well as I think I should. I've been trying to change my shooting styles from Ryan Brown at Hopkins to Sergio Perkovic at ND. When I do I just end up getting hurt so could you guys make a video on different shooting strokes of help me out on my problem? Thx Amigos ;)
Sergio's form is not actually considered to be that great in a classic sense/style. He's utilizing primarily a 3/4 arm motion with a very large front step and big pull through. It's sort of pushing motion more compared to the classic flicking of the arms and wrist. Most of it is actually bio mechanics and not something you can sustainability change without back and wrist injuries. You may find that there are elements of your more Ryan brown like motion that could use changes or tweaks that would improve your velocity and accuracy. Over time, for any good shooter, you want to get yourself holding your stick away from your body to the side while still throwing overhand. This will protect your stick while moving and also improve your overall shooting form. Watch how Kevin Rice or Rob Pannell shoot the ball and than compare it to Ryan Brown or Sergio or even Mike sawyer. They all start from relatively the same stance and are just changing how they release the ball from both direction (overhand, side arm etc) and form (amount of core engagement, wrist flicking etc). Body type, strength and size play a big role in determining which style is best for you. The last big variable is distance: as shooters get better they tend to hold the stick into their body the closer they get to the goal all the way from doing pump fakes at the crease to wind up with the stick 2 feet from your body at 20 yards. If you want more help or explanation I'd be happy to help; I see your comment is pretty old.
hahahah, i thought my coach was you, then i realized i live in az
