  • In this 6th video training segment Jonesie covers procedures to "Winterize" the jetter by purging all water from its pump, hose/reel, and plumbing via the optional Anti-Freeze Circulation & Recovery System, and then covers how to recover the Anti-Freeze solution back into the on-board anti-freeze tank, before resuming jetting operation.
NOTE if your jetter does NOT have the optional Anti-Freeze Tank System, you can:
    a) Pour Anti-Freeze Solution into the main water-tank and draw it into the jetter's pump system
    b) Apply compressed air to purge out water via the included Air-Inlet Schrader-Valve (under the hood & below the pump on the right).
[the next/final video #7 will be a LIVE Jetting Demo of this jetter in a 6" pipe]

Here is the full Winterization via Anti-Freeze Procedure for Eagle-300 & 600 ‘DWR’ Jetters with Anti-Freeze Option:
Take your time in learning these procedures; it will save you Anti-Freeze Solution and make sure that the system is protected properly:
    *Wear Eye-Protection always!*
    • Fill the Anti-Freeze Tank with 100% un-diluted "RV" Anti-Freeze Solution that has a below-zero temperature rating of at least -50 degrees Fahrenheit.
NOTE: as you use and recapture the anti-freeze several times the solution will
dilute a little each time. Periodically test the solution to make sure it will protect your machine according to the weather in your location.
    • With both engines turned off and the trailer on level-ground, drain as much water out of the system as possible: (A) drain the main water-tank by opening the Drain-Valve located below and just forward of the engine-hood curbside, and then (B) remove the water-filter housing and clean its strainer/filter. Wait until all water is drained, and then close the Drain-Valve AND reinstall the filter and its housing to the jetter.
    • Close the T-handled Water-Tank Valve (behind the water-filter) to the "down"
position, which will close off the water-tank so antifreeze does not drain backward into the water-tank.
    • Open the White-Handled Valve at the base of the Anti-Freeze Tank (handle-position will be parallel to the trailer-deck) - this will allow solution from the antifreeze tank to enter the jetter’s pumping system immediately upon starting the engines.
    • Remove the jetting nozzle from the hose so water can flow freely from the
hose-end. Connect the hose-end to the threaded connection on the Yellow-Handled 3-way Ball-Valve (near the top of the Antifreeze Tank), then move the Yellow-Handle to the position that will send water to the clear drain-hose (see the arrows on the yellow handle for correct positioning)
•BEFORE starting the engines, lower the engine-throttle to minimum/idle
(throttle is on the control-panel), and then:
-Start both engines in quick succession, #1 then #2
-Wait 5 seconds, then turn ON the Water-Flow switch on the control-panel (jetting flow on). keep throttle at IDLE; do not increase engine speed during winterizing
•The jetter will now be sucking in antifreeze and purging water out of the clear hose next to the antifreeze tank (water should be dumping to the ground - if not check the position of the Yellow-Handled Valve immediately!). Allow the unit to run, discharging water from the hose…
•As soon as Anti-Freeze Solution begins to flow through the clear-hose, quickly turn the Yellow-Handle near the top of the Anti-Freeze Tank so the anti-freeze solution will be directed back into the Anti-Freeze Tank; the solution will then be circulating in a “closed loop”.
•Open the Pulsation-Valve (on the main panel below the pressure-gauge) 2 full
turns. Wait 10-15 seconds, and then close the Pulsation Valve. This will winterize the pulsation-system.
•Turn OFF the Water-Flow switch (on the control-panel)
•Wait 3 seconds, then turn both Engines OFF.
-Your Jetter is now winterized -
NOTES: During winterizing or re-capturing of anti-freeze some anti-freeze solution may spill. Use of a RV style anti-freeze solution is recommended, or a windshield-wash solution that carries at least a -30 degree f. rating (do not use engine glycol).
Winterize your jetter only where spilled anti-freeze solution can be directed, or rinsed to, an appropriate drain for disposal. A location such as a car wash or equipment-wash facility is best. The jetter operator and/or owner is responsible to comply with any local environmental regulations.
