  • Learn how to install your new High Impact Protection tape on your bike. Wilderwild's Protection Tape can be used for a variety of applications including cars, skis, kayaks, motorcycles and more! Application surfaces included aluminum, carbon fiber, steel, glass, plastics, painted and powder-coated surfaces.
    Installation Instructions: Wash hands and surface with soapy water to avoid contaminants and fingerprints on the adhesive. 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol can be used for surface preparation, this will soften the adhesive and create an instant bond. Wilderwild’s High Impact Protection Tape can be installed wet or dry. It is recommended to install the tape on a wet surface so you can easily make positioning adjustments. When installing on angles or bends use a heat gun (on low) or hair dryer to activate the glue. Using the provided squeegee, in a pulling motion remove solution between the tape and surface, with a pushing motion use the squeegee to compress the film and remove bubbles. Ambient and surface temperature for install must be between 55°F and 90°F.
    Removal Instructions: For best results, we recommend using a steamer to remove the adhesive tape. DO NOT REMOVE the tape without properly heating the High Impact Protection Tape first. A heat gun (on low) or hair dryer can be used to soften the adhesive. This method may cause the adhesive to split which will require more adhesive to be cleaned off the surface.

    I'm now wrapping my second frame with your amazing tape! I love your product. I also have a suggestion. Rather than cutting the tape to a pre-determined width based on your current pattern, consider that using the full width of the tape on some frames would provide more protection and less waste (of your awesome product). *also, I would love a Celtic or Viking knotwork pattern...:)

    Just purchased the dragon scale tape and it looks and feels high quality. Can’t wait to get it on my frame.

    Hmmm. I used the clear gloss tape so bubbles probably show easier. I have some bubbles and tried lifting the tape and reapplying. That didn't entirely go as planned. That was the left side of the bike. The DT side looks much better. Hopefully the bubbles close some as the heat dissipates.

    Has anyone tried to add this on top of existing clear protection tape? Or doubling up for extra protection?

    @Wilderwild- I store my bike in a I closed trailer and in the summer it gets pretty hot. Do you think your product would peel off from heat of trailer?

    Update: I finished putting it on. They're always a pain regardless of brand. This time I struggled with removing the air bubbles despite numerous attempts. It's good enough for now..LOL. Hopefully the Sun will do the rest...LOL
    Awesome video! One of the best explanations I've seen! I just bought a clear version. I'm installing it on my V1 Ripmo. For now, I'll put it on the Swingarm. Thanks!!

      Did the sun help?

    • @mikeboggs7548
      @mikeboggs7548 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dr.emilschaffhausen4683 I'll be honest the sun only helps a little, you really want to get out as many bubbles the first time. If your struggling with to many bubbles try again and use way less water/soap. I mean 80-90% less solution. Always lay down the center of the tape first with no bubbles, then use hairdryer on all floating edges (activating the glue), push out toward the edge of the tape 1" at a time ( alternating left side right side) using your squeegee. Good luck. Send me a message through our website if you're having any more issues! Thanks

    Is it safe to use a heat gun on a carbon frame bike ?

      I did use a heat gun on mine. Just don't heat it like you are going to grill some chicken.

  • @rodrigomendez2356
    @rodrigomendez2356 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I got this wrap for my fuel ex and end up having to heat the tape to be able to installed it on top tube, I followed the steps on the video and just didn't worked. The film is little too thick so it didn't adhere to the frame "that's why the heating part , make moe malleable "
    I'm afraid to even try the rest of my bike, is too difficult and LOT orlf work , for something that according to the video should be super easy.
