My wife just won me one of these guns at a gun bash! I'm eager to shoot it and to eventually mount a little scope on it. I think the scope really adds to its already very cool look and character. Thanks for showing us how to do this and what we need to get the job done.
I done this some 17 yrs ago! It was a beauty! Golden boy 22 mag and Malcolm 3X scope! Tack driver at DISTANCE!! But due to an economic downturn had to part with it😢..hope whoever ended up with it appreciates what they have!😢😢
Sorry to hear you had to sell due to finances. Im facing something similar with my Golden Boy these days as well. Hard to part with it. $500 - $600 isnt much these days but can be enough to make a difference
The Rings Hi-Lux if your watching are indeed extremely way to high and need to be much lower this should be an option because who really feels like attaching a cheek rise. I realize your trying to stay nostalgic with this set up but low med and high would fit the bill for all.
We do! We call it the "Malcolm Optics Marlin '94/'95 Mounting Kit", but it can also fit the Henry Big Boy. If you want to double check - do you have a dovetail on the barrel (back near the receiver) and two holes drilled atop the receiver?
Unfortunately, we're out of the no-machining kits for the Henry Big Boy. Should have them back soon. The blocks can still go right on the barrel with a bit of drilling and tapping, though!
If you can drill and tap, you could put some holes in the base to match the holes in a rail. Alternatively, you could drill through a picatinny bar to match the 4 holes already on the base. I haven't put a picatinny on it personally, but it certainly looks like it would work
That's one of my favorite cartridges with these scopes. I've taken a High Wall in .45-70 out to 600 yards with this setup. I think I fired 65 rounds in a single day (maybe 60?), and probably 500+ total since I've installed the scope on the rifle. Still works great.
I'd have to check the measurements, but unfortunately I don't have one of those models in the office. If you've got one in hand, give me a call and we'll figure it out!
man, thank you so much! you re the only one who shows how to properly take the original buckhorn sights off!

All I needed was how to take the original sight off, thank you for sharing your wisdom
You are awesome brother! And that’s a beautiful old school scope! Thank you

After loading all day Sunday that scope with prove excellent for shooting all week.
Can't agree more! What've you got it on?
Thats the wrong gun for that saying...ur thinking of the henry original 44 rimfire
I got one for 22 golden boy, looks good. I'd recommend utilizing the two additional holes on future versions!
thats a really cool optic, it looks great on that rifle
13:11 where can I get that mount my golden boy is not drilled for scope model H004m made in Brooklyn NY
We have them on our site!
Very nice and very effective
Does the golden boy mount work for a 357 Henry big boy?

Do you have one for the Henry classic in 45-70?
Where can I buy like this one?
Hope you have a mounting kit for Henry big boy 44-mag ?

I have a brand new henry big boy .45 colt. What do you have as a mount for it?
Unfortunately, we're out of the no-machining kits for the Henry Big Boy. Should have them back soon.
The blocks can still go right on the barrel with a bit of drilling and tapping, though!
I think you like your job and I'm jealous
I am indeed guilty of liking my job
So, was the Henry dovetail cut faulty?
Yes. There was a rather large (and sharp) burr left behind from the cutting process. Not an insurmountable problem.
would it be possible to mount a picatinny rail on the base?
If you can drill and tap, you could put some holes in the base to match the holes in a rail. Alternatively, you could drill through a picatinny bar to match the 4 holes already on the base. I haven't put a picatinny on it personally, but it certainly looks like it would work
And just HOW did you “trim” your dovetail block?
Dremel is the easiest. A file would work fine too. I tend to use a dremel for anything like this.
it dos'nt cost no more to make this scope than a 3 x 9 x 40 centerpoint from walmart 80 dollars vs. 779.00 why ?
There’s a whole lotta “that’s what she said” going on in this video 😂
Which scope is this on your site?
Could you do this on a 44 big boy
We have a different mounting kit for that - but otherwise, yes!
Do you ship to canada?
Where can I get this I want to mount a scope on my .22
We sell directly through our site!
If only they could make the rings lower. It would afford a much better cheek weld and would look ultra cool.
Is it just me or does this just look like itll snap if you tap that 2 foot long scope on a tree branch or something
It'd have to be one heck of a tap! Maybe including a hammer.
Steel tubes are pretty darn durable.
Easy there Hatchet Hitchhiker you almost hit your barrel!
Priced this on another dealers site and the scope and mount cost more than the gun.
I was just about to comment about how overpriced the scope and mount is.
thanks man
?
Don't like the speedup. Some of us dummies like to see things done in regular time.
That looks disgusting
How well would these scopes hold up to 45-70 ?
That's one of my favorite cartridges with these scopes. I've taken a High Wall in .45-70 out to 600 yards with this setup. I think I fired 65 rounds in a single day (maybe 60?), and probably 500+ total since I've installed the scope on the rifle. Still works great.
Will this work on a henry frontier. 22 long barrel?
I'd have to check the measurements, but unfortunately I don't have one of those models in the office. If you've got one in hand, give me a call and we'll figure it out!
