There is was about to cry and now here I am laughing like an idiot, I love the guy who cracks a joke and lightens up the mood when everyone's so serious and sad
As the Sakura blooms Death opens a tomb A father drowns in regret Asking for forgiveness he can never get A warlord who never ceased Now no longer knows peace The petals fall down, Shaping an empty crown.
Lyrics: There's a war inside my head And I'm drowning in regret When the lights come down Got an empty crown My body's missing pieces Can't pull it all together My body's missing pieces I wish I could remember My body's missing pieces Can't pull it all together My body's missing pieces I wish I could remember There's a war inside my head And I'm drowning in regret When the lights come down Got an empty crown
Her bed of stone, Crafted by her alone, She lays with hair tangled, While petals lie mangled. She lays in a rest unknown, With her warrior of stone, Keeping her calm, And safe
time turned her to bones while war turned him to stone in his arms she lays both yearning for happier days still, they find comfort in each other keeping their memories alive forever
From what I know which is little, there is an old tale in Japanese lore. That if a man sits still for a long enough time he will turn to stone and remain in place forever. Because of this I think the man failed to protect his love so he sat, with her in his arms, and could not leave, he stayed so long holding her that he turned to stone.
this sounds like it would be the actual explanation for this image and it's a story behind an image like this that can move your heart in your chest with emotion, you could imagine an entire novel with just one image, like this.
Humans may be foolish, selfish and arrogant but nonetheless their still human capable of both good and evil. No one is all bad same as no one is all good we all have both good and bad, some people just choose one over the other Btw i love your comment
LYRICS There's a war inside my head And I'm drowning in regret When the lights come down Got an empty crown My body's missing pieces Can't pull it all together My body's missing pieces I wish I could remember My body's missing pieces Can't pull it all together My body's missing pieces I wish I could remember There's a war inside my head And I'm drowning in regret When the lights come down Got an empty crown

He held you For centuries, waiting for you Your eyes never waved He stayed still Hoping to see you smile one more time Waiting, slowly hollowing away Season after season He still waits
Where death is, you are not and where you are, there is no death. We gonna die some day anyway, its not that big of dead if somebody dies. Its only natural
Whispering tales of love Forbidden thoughts, below and above I carry you my bride my other half Until the arrows shaft Found you and I wasn't able to protect Now our bodies we have left We can dance in the starry delight Comets and galaxies entwined I am yours and you are mine Sitting beneath the bodhi tree Secret seductive silent thoughts are stemming from thee Your crown of life has faded My emotions are hardened and jaded but I will seek you life after life Passing on the endless night 🌙
He wanted more power, she loved him the way he was. She was dying, he was blinded by his empire. He didn't know what defeat meant, Until he lost a treasure he didn't care of. All meant nothing, he lost in the first place. Gold embroidered thrones, silver plates. A crown that's empty of happiness. Filled with self hatred, he cursed himself. "I'll hold every piece of you, for eternity. Until we're reborn, and I'll love you better than the last time."
Under the blossoming tree His hands wrapped tightly around her Putting her close to his heart Wishing that maybe after death she can feel the heat of his palms Feel the familiar heat of his skin The familiar beat of his heart To the emptiness that follow And to the pain And maybe under a different blossoming tree In a different life Theyll find each other again
This is one of the most beatiful things ive ever seen created, this song, and with the drawing, its something a person could live for I hadnt listened to it for an year, and now so many memorys of emotions and thoughs are returning and replying again in my head, this is a priceless expirience
@@lavis4448 so basically means she sacrificed her life for him. He said he'll sacrifice for her tommorow. But if dying for her tommorow is impossible, then he will crown her or give her the rest of time he has left
Noticed that most of these comments and poetry focus more on the statue holding the girl in a sense which creates him refusing to let go even after death when it really should be focused more on the girl who internalized his already passed existence by sculpting a wooden statue of him and then committing suicide in his arms to join him in the afterlife so they could be together. So +1 for the random girl in the pic.
The love between this warrior and the maiden was forbidden, and when they didn't abide they were cursed , the women would never be able to bear children. They didn't care about the curse and they thought their love exceeded everything, so the women got pregnant and they were happy because they the curse was false ,time went by and one day, the women was feeling immense pain in her stomach, the lovers tried everything but the pain wouldn't stop, the warrior tried carrying her to the shrine on top of the mountain to seek help, on the way the maiden now sings the song: "There is a war inside my head": meaning she is confused questioning her decisions, not knowing if she would make it, not knowing if HER child would make it alive. "And am drowning in regret": she is regretting ignoring the curse and bearing the child The pain now stopped and she feeling dizzy, she knew her child died, she puts her hand on her stomach , and the song continues: "My body's missing pieces": referencing to her baby whom she just lost "Can't pull it all together" it's something that time can't heal, it's not a situation where one can pull himself together. "I wish I could remember" (this is up for interpretation): she is trying to remember how her life has been like what people usually do on the brink of death but she can't remember anything. "When the lights come down": her vision is getting bleaker and darker, she is losing consciousness. "Got an empty crown": the crown is being a mother, the dream she so truly wished for, and empty meaning that that dream she had was in the end nothing but a dream. The warrior now noticing his wife was dead, there was no point in taking her to the shrine instead he took her to the place they first met, he sat with her between his arms, her hands were on her stomach. "The warrior turned to stone The maiden now of bone Together for eternity Shall never be alone" *I took this last quote from the comment section*
This image has a lot of different meanings that can be taken from it. Many seem to think that the man was a warrior turned to stone while the women died of sadness. However I see it a different way. She’s curled perfectly into his grasp. If he were turned to stone in battle he would have on armor and be stood in defensive position. But he’s not. It almost seems like the women was mortally wounded, and in grief the man carried her to the top of a mountain before she passed, where afterwards he felt so hollow that his body was turned to stone
He slowed as he felt the blood seeping through his clothes. Panic ran through his mind. He prayed it was his own. Seeing a tree in the distance he hastily made his way there. Leaning against the trunk fear welled up inside him as he stared down at her fragile body. His heart fell as he saw her robes soaked in blood. Nestling in closer to his chest, grabbing a handful of his robe, she looked up at him with sorrow in her eyes but smiling nonetheless. "It's okay.", her voice hoarse as tears streamed down her face. "I'd die for you", he gasped. "And I would live for you", she replied. Reluctantly her eyes slowly closed. The end in sight. With a faint whisper she pleads, "Please, will you stay with me?". Mustering all his strength, his voice trembled replying, "Til the end." And as she passed he would stay. Like statues they'd become. The maiden fades to bone. The warrior stands encased in stone. His soul never to be freed. Never to have roamed. For eternity he stands watch. All so she might never be alone. I put three top comments together to make a complete story for myself. Here's a peek into what I see when I hear this song. Credit/Inspiration: @Atomic Dynamite, @Strawberry Milk, @Chillamanjaro and @Osamu.
It's crazy how years ago when I listened to this, I thought it was bad, because then I was scrolling mindlessly for interesting songs to stack up, I didn't consider the emotional aspect of a song. Now, everything just changes, I have learnt how to truly feel music.
I can relate. When I was a teenager I would only listen to heavy metal and dance music. But now I only listen to emotional songs which are mostly really sad or songs with sad lyrics with funky music.
The samurai embraced its death so the end result being that the soul never left its vessel, meaning its eternally immortal. How we should all feel when we age and see flaws in ourselves no matter the circumstances.
It also makes sense when reversed: He died as a soldier/hero in war and got honored with a statue. She didn't want to accept his death and refused to leave the statue's side, eventually dying there. Now they are together physically AND in the afterlife. Why am I crying?
A picture speaks, when it is heard in more than just a thousand words, so senseless is the fool's endeavor endless misses, tried for clever verse in rhyme to capture essence of the timeless art it lessens naught, for when the poet sings Joy to one, their poem brings.
"Till death do us part" Yet that was the start He whispered to me He'll never ever leave. Then a letter fell upon us A fight or a promise? I was left at the door No trace of his warmth. A mason I find and I plead and I cried Till he carved in his lines A face set in stone. And beyond all sense & reason In his embrace passed the seasons Till the blossoms fell even On his head and mine
Thanks. I am going through the worst breakup of my life and this is my version of your poem. Till death do us part Yet that was only the start She whispered to me, that she'll never leave. Then it fell upon us, a fight, a broken promise. Somehow we still find eachothers warm embrace, beyond all sense & reason, there is still a trace. Can love that is lost, be found again? If the blossoms fall, can you let me know then.
The code of Honor and War, Brought me Blood and Swords Afar, Leaving my Lovely Maiden, Slowly Fading. What brought me Victory, Was only a dust of History, But my love who was a perfect Harmony, Left me behind with a cruel, lonely Tragedy.
"I'm scared of death," she whispered. "Will you hold me tight?" As my tears fall down, and her breath weakens, the sun give us a farewell hug at the last day of autumn. "Yes i will. Forever."
here is a 3 years later version of my last poem. Maiden and Her Stone Warrior "Will you feel lonely once I am gone?" she asked, "Who said I will leave you, even when you are past?" With a gentle smile, the maiden laid her head to rest, The warrior pulled her close, in his everlasting embrace. Beneath the sakura tree, an old stone warrior stands, Holding his lover's skeleton in his gentle hands, A testament to love that endures time's vast expanse, Their bond still holds as centuries of seasons dance. Like a candle's soft and mild steady glow, Their love still burns, with a flickering radiant flow. In this timeless stance, their bond remains, Love like flames that never wavers or wanes.
"When I come back from the war, wait for me here". Every day she visited that same tree hoping to be reunited at last. Days turned into weeks, turned into months, turned into years. Yet the light of love shone brighter than ever. She built a statue of him out of clay, carving every memory she had of him through her hands. She grew weak and ill yet she never stopped until her memory of him was set in stone. Finally he was finished. Beautiful as ever yet cold as ice. Her illness now took over her whole body so she resided in her lover's hard cold arms, but at that moment, felt warm, and waited and waited until her last breath.
Waw that's beautiful ! so he did die during war after all ? Anyway thats so different from the other stories in the comment section yet thats very beautiful. I'm impressed how a single picture can have multiples stories to tell
I come back here every once in a while. The music and image bring me inner peace. I think what it is that I see in this image now is a woman that's hurting or dead inside, but she's held by her true love who is there for her as her rock. He comforts her and she comforts him when she finds peace. How else could two non-living beings, a skeleton and a statue be so alive?
Lost to war she carved him into stone Forever gone she'd lay in his arms, her home The cherry bloosom tree where they used to sit In his arms she'd swallow her last cherry pit
As the petals fell, He looked at her stone cold face. He smiled and kissed her forehead, And remembered the first time they met. 'Farewell, my beautiful', said he. Turned out, he was just as alone as he once used to be.
"My physical body is gone, but my soul is still alive. You will never be alone.. So please do not forget. I'll always love you. Even if I can't say it. I'll never leave you. Even if I can't comeback."
she is to be alone, he is to be born, from a tree thy bone, shall sprout forward, her corpse sheltered, his mission concluded, her wish fulfilled, their story unfinished.
No one will ever truly know the true meaning to this, some people have interpreted differently than others, but whatever it is, it is tragic yet beautiful at the same time.
Never had had it been so quiet, yet so loud. Alone in the battle field stood a tree of blossoms, and beneath it a final farewell. "Please... Please... don't go." He cried, nails digging into the seams of her clothing. She was a mistake, something that should never of happened. A bond that he couldn't help making, one that left him mellow every departure, and beaming every meet. She cupped a hand to his face, smiling bitterly, "Will you leave me too, my Warrior of Stone?" He bit back tears, body shaking in disbelief. Why her. An innocence hated for existing, for wanting to make a change. He forced a smile, voice husky as he whispered, "No... I won't leave. I'll always be here, standing by your side." She stared at him, her eyes widening in momentary shock. Her face scrunched as she tried to wipe away the tears rolling down her whitened cheeks, "You i-idiot... p-please don't torture yourself like this. Please. Just for...get... forget ab..out me..." Eyes grew dull, colour left the face, and her outstretched hand slowly fell to the blood ridden ground. "Eda...? EDA! You can't go, not until you win - WE win. You p-promised... you said..." A flutter of blossoms flew across the broken field, and a warrior held the lifeless woman that was once his everything. She swore she would get her revenge. She promised him... He gripped her tighter, sword in hand. He would wait.
She was always in love, But his heart was cold as stone, So when the sickness got her soul, He rushed to hold her bones, Under the tree that blooms in dawn, Because his sadness could have never been controled, His heart turned him to stone, And after centuries had gone, His statue remained alone.
Beneath the cherry blossom tree War went into peace Held by the other Somewhere far away Wrapped around their lover A tail like no other Now just an empty crown But will live on forever
This is my story adaptation of the photo. Yumiko was a young girl of just sixteen summers. She had long black hair that flowed ever so easily in the wind. She would spend most of her days, playing in the field outside her home. It was the only place she could go to, to be alone. The field was covered in luscious green grass and in the middle - stood one tall cherry blossom tree. Her mother would always tell her stories of that tree - how it housed a spirit named Yasuo who has been watching over their family for generations. Yumiko, of course, always believed that it was just that, a story, one you tell gullible little children. Even so, everyday, Yumiko would lay down against the tree, and fall asleep. Whenever she needed a place to relax and to think, she would come here. She didn’t know the reason for doing so, but whenever she came to this particular spot she would always be able to clear her mind of all troubles. One day, Yumiko got into an argument with her father - the Emperor. He wanted to arrange a marriage for Yumiko, so that they could sew ties between a neighboring country. Yumiko believed that she should be able to fall in love on her own terms, with someone that would love her back, and not just for political gain. “You will marry anyone I choose and that is final, you are my daughter and you have no say in this matter!” Yelled the emperor “This is what is best for our country! Do not be so self centered that you believe, you could have anyone of your choosing, Yumiko.” Yumiko looked into her fathers eyes, tears starting to freely fall down her pale, delicate skin. “All you care about is yourself” Yumiko retorted. “I wish I wasn’t born a princess, I feel as if I cannot breathe with all of the restrictions I have in my life!” Yumiko ran past her father and went straight to the field, with the cherry blossom tree. She leaned against the tree, still crying softly to herself. “I wish I was never even born.” She sniffled while wiping the tears from her eyes. “Whatever is the matter? Why is such a pretty, delicate flower weeping?” A strange but melodic voice whispered. Yumiko jumped to her feet, frightened by the sudden words. “W-who’s there?” Yumiko asked suspiciously. As she said that, a man with a white painted face, and white kimono, emerged from inside the cherry blossom. He walked over to her, his pale hand reaching over to wipe a tear from her face. He smiled. “What are you..? Who are you?” Yumiko stammered taking a step back. “I am a spirit, named Yasuo. I have been watching over your family for a long time now. I have seen each and every one of you grow up and become something great.” He said. Yumiko gasped and said, “my mother would talk about you often, I just.. never believed her stories.” The wind blew and as it did, his white elegant kimono, billowed outward, the leaves from the cherry blossom blowing past his face. “Tell me, why it is you are crying.” He said, with pity in his eyes. “It’s my father. I think his greed clouds his judgement. He cares little for me and only cares about what he can gain. He is trying to arrange a marriage I do not want so that he can gain more territory.” Yumiko said simply. “Tears should be saved for when a loved one passes from this world.” He said gently. “Come here, child” Yasuo said in a caring tone with his arms outstretched. Yumiko stepped closer to the mysterious tree spirit, stopping only inches from him. He held her in his arms and she wept more. “I’m sorry.” Yumiko said desperately trying to wipe the tears from her face. They stayed like this for hours until she fell asleep. When she awoke, she was laying against the trunk of the tree her face still puffy from all that needless crying. Yasuo was nowhere in sight. The night before made Yumiko realize that she needed to talk with her father. Make him see reason. She knew that her kind loving father was still there - somewhere. As she began to walk back she sniffed the air, it smelled of charcoal. Smoke billowed up from her house and she ran towards it, panicking. The entire estate had been burned to the ground. She fell to her knees in the ashes. Her kimono turning black from the soot. There, in front of her face were her dads - the emperors charred remains. The crown that always remained on his head, lay next to his bones, now empty. She felt as empty as the crown. No tears, no sadness, she felt - nothing. She stood back up on her feet and as she did so, felt a hot sensation hit her stomach. Warm liquid covered her hands as she looked down to see an arrow head coming out of her stomach. She turned around, slowly walking back to where she came from, the cherry blossom tree. Blood poured from her wound as she walked, leaving a trail in her wake. The grass turning crimson as she walked through it, finally falling against the Cherry Blossom Tree. Her eyes felt heavy. She looked up, to see Yasuo cradling her in his arms. Tears slowly fell down his face. She smiled and cupped his face in her hand and said, “Why are you crying?” He held her hand against his face and watched, as she went limp against his body.
I love making up a story to fit the artwork in these videos. I think the two were lovers. The man being the son of a godly being, and the woman a mortal. The woman died young and the man, held onto her body, weeping for centuries. He never moved from that spot and the pain in his heart grew until his father, the godly being, took pity on him and turned the man into stone so that he may always hold his lover on Earth and join her in death.
He fought for her love She fought for her life A mind broken by the battle A soul frozen by the loss Waiting an eternity Empty crown in hand For a woman that already has a throne Six feet underground...
The father said to his sickly daughter: "When you die, I will die with you." The daughter choked back bitter tears, desperately pleading. "No! I need you to live forever. Strong, unbending, unbroken. The last pillar of my existence. The last one to remember my name." The goddess of the tree was moved. She called to them: "I have heard both your prayers. Stay with me." And every year, the goddess looks upon them. She remembers, and weeps a thousand blossoms.
I’m so proud of Yas and my son who produced this song for her. Her music style is very ethereal and allows the listener to wander through their inner self!
“Stop. Leave” “No. I can’t.” “Leave now. Please. For me.” “I will stay for you. Always.” The girl has long since decayed. The man has long since hardened. Her body became bone. While his became stone. To forever be carried by him alone. The magic spell can never be undone. It is his wish, To never relinquish.
This fits perfectly out of every strory and poem i read in this comment(no offence to other commenters, i loved everyone's poem) but this one touched my soul.
Kriti Shrestha Oh my gosh thank you! To be fair. It took me forever to write this poem. I kept deleting rough drafts. And leaving this video. And then I came back and decided to write another poem. AND LIKE THEY ALL FAILED. And then while I was just zoning out, this Poem came to me. And I finally felt it was THE ONE. And so I shared it. : D! Thank you so much!
I remember very little from my infancy, I don't know why. But this makes me remember when I was a kid and my mother cared for me. She is still alive, but I'm a grown up man, I have a wife and two kids of mine. This is the kind of confort that I know I'll probably never feel again. To feel impossibly secure in the arms of your mother.
Also to say" we defy what is right" is a ambiguous subjective opinion of yours. For who is to say what is right and what is wrong. I definitely know it's not you or any of us of that matter.
my dog recently passed away. you can see her in my profile picture. i miss her so much. i can’t stand to look at her collar without balling my eyes out. the house feels empty and quiet. she took a piece of my heart with her when she left. this song reminds me of her idk why. ik she’s up in doggy heaven playing in the snow cuz it was her favorite. ik she’s happy and young. she passed away so suddenly. it was so unexpected but she’s happier now. i will see her again soon. i will just have to wait till that time comes.
If you truly want, you could see her again. Just saying, theres hope for you Jesus loves you more than anything else and he is waiting for you. You will see your dog in heaven if you are in heaven. I lost my twin brother, *theres hope.* ❤️
“She is a beautiful piece of broken pottery, put back together by her own hands. And a critical world judges her cracks while missing the beauty of how she made herself whole again.” ― J.M. Storm
@@the_parthenon it's become one of my favorite quotes : ) I read it last year, loved it but forgot about it. This song brought it back again, resurrected it from memory. Now I'll always remember it 👍🏻
this song for me is about holding on to the memory of someone who no longer exists. someone that loved you and cared for you yet circumstances made both of you distant and now you don't even talk anymore. you see her in your dreams, you see flashes, memories and your mind rushes with possibilities of what could've been. it's when you can't let go of something or someone that isn't there anymore. you've lost her. let her go man. just let her go. yet you can't. you hold onto the hurt. let it teach you. let it carve you into a better person. so you are sitting there under the oak tree with a dead body of your love and waiting for things to bloom again. this is where i am. i hope it blooms for me one day. i will not let go. i will not give up. i will be better.
She finally found him. Just as she remembered him. Placing herself in his arms as she would do long ago And feeling safe and complete She faded away...
Hold my beer: In his embrace, she slumbers. A lovely face, but time alters. They look upon the world, Behold its wonders. Eons have passed, And more fly past. The years are countless, Beyond any numbers… And so are mortal blunders.
It seemed to me like he’s unwilling or unable to change, stone cold, set in his ways. While she continues to wait for him to, all the while silently rotting away in his arms Yet, he cannot let go- Nor can she find the willpower to leave his embrace And so they continue bound together; he holds her bones in a tender embrace for eternity As soft petals fall all over them through the seasons, quietly, finally peaceful.
5 years later and I'm still enjoying this video being played on my screen while I'm chilling in bed or the couch. At first I didn't get the picture but I think I got it now, after all those years. And the music fits even more now. Some noble man/hero/warrior that made history, his name carved in stone and a statue made in his image, a legend. He's holding his love, the sole thing we often don't see or think of when we see the great, but the sole thing that kept him going and will never forget himself. I think the skeleton (his love) in his arms resembles the fact that her image will be forgotten by many but not by him, the one that, due to her involvement, was able to do something truly great.
Pregnant with child, she fell ill. Nothing could be done. "I don't want to die in a hospital, surrounded by sickness and sorrow. I want to be with you, where we fell in love, under the cherry blossom." So he carried her there, sat with her for hours reminiscing their love. Until she slipped away, taking with her their unborn child. Hand on her stomach, hole in his heart, an empty crown was laid upon his head; and he turned to stone as the Cherry Blossom wept.
So far the top comments couldn't make me cry but yours got me in the first second. Honestly you should write more like this, you have the perfect knowledge of what to write to grip the readers. I'm a fan.
Their love was sure divine But rejected like a whine And before the cherry bloom She could only see gloom The death wish for atone Made the warrior turn to stone As he sacrificed his life For the remnants of his wife
This is the view from her. Nobody is there. Samurai is dead. She understands that completely. But she really wanted to see him for ages. Spring has come. She became thin with grief. The warm breeze that blows in spring. The scent of an ume flower. She was reminded of her promise. "Let's meet again under the ume tree when I get back from battlefield." An ume flower in full bloom in the garden. She spoke to the tree. "Be with me forever." The warm breeze that blows in spring after a moment. She was smiling and said nothing. She fell into a deep sleep.
She smiled weakly to her lover, who's cheeks were stained with tears. "My love...Do you remember what i told you about this tree?" She muttered weakly "Of course...That life is almost overwhelmingly beautiful but is also tragically short..." He spoke with a hushed tone and he looked down at his smiling lover,a shaky grin pulling at his lips "You have always smiled for me my dear.." He added The woman brushed her fingertips against his warm skin "I'm so happy it is your embrace in which ill lay" She whispered as her vision got blurry and her eyes closing for the final time "And for eternity you will stay...In our next lives we shall be together once again.." He said and held her lifeless body close. The gods above pitied the fools, for their fate was inevitable and would only happen again and again. The man was once a powerful god who left his kingdom for a mortal and he loved her in each and every life she had. He was forced to see his lover die,but she always lived a happy life with him...Until next time...

Welcome to the poetry club 🙌😂
:p
It's a beautiful poem
i have a feeling that you are a lone existence like me and so that you can reveal just what it wants to say.
As the Sakura blooms
Death opens a tomb
A father drowns in regret
Asking for forgiveness he can never get
A warlord who never ceased
Now no longer knows peace
The petals fall down,
Shaping an empty crown.
Beautiful
Love this!!!
I dont comment often but this is such a great short poem. Thank you for sharing your insight in this song.
This is deep as the abyss...
Great
Lyrics:
There's a war inside my head
And I'm drowning in regret
When the lights come down
Got an empty crown
My body's missing pieces
Can't pull it all together
My body's missing pieces
I wish I could remember
My body's missing pieces
Can't pull it all together
My body's missing pieces
I wish I could remember
There's a war inside my head
And I'm drowning in regret
When the lights come down
Got an empty crown
I almost wanted to say there were no lyrics until it came later 😂
@@starShowXO Sameeeee😂
I thought the same but I waited, I thought it was a perfect fit for the vibe and then it came true xD
Thanks a lots 😍
I don't know why I sang this in rap before listining to her singing, the rap style sounded better in my head
Her bed of stone,
Crafted by her alone,
She lays with hair tangled,
While petals lie mangled.
She lays in a rest unknown,
With her warrior of stone,
Keeping her calm,
And safe
You deserve an award. Like I really liked this, good
This is really nice haiku
That was really good! ☺
I'm not crying.....☺😭
Omg this is so beautiful!!!
time turned her to bones
while war turned him to stone
in his arms she lays
both yearning for happier days
still, they find comfort in each other
keeping their memories alive forever
💯 Nicee

From what I know which is little, there is an old tale in Japanese lore. That if a man sits still for a long enough time he will turn to stone and remain in place forever. Because of this I think the man failed to protect his love so he sat, with her in his arms, and could not leave, he stayed so long holding her that he turned to stone.
this sounds like it would be the actual explanation for this image and it's a story behind an image like this that can move your heart in your chest with emotion, you could imagine an entire novel with just one image, like this.
like in Pokémon when that lady turned to stone waiting for her lover
Beautiful and profoundly heartbreaking
Two inanimate beings show more feelings than some humans ever do. This image with this song shakes my marrow.

Humans may be foolish, selfish and arrogant but nonetheless their still human capable of both good and evil. No one is all bad same as no one is all good we all have both good and bad, some people just choose one over the other

Forbidden thoughts, below and above

Found you and I wasn't able to protect
Now our bodies we have left
We can dance in the starry delight
Comets and galaxies entwined

Secret seductive silent thoughts are stemming from thee
Your crown of life has faded

@@lavis4448 so basically means she sacrificed her life for him. He said he'll sacrifice for her tommorow. But if dying for her tommorow is impossible, then he will crown her or give her the rest of time he has left
Noticed that most of these comments and poetry focus more on the statue holding the girl in a sense which creates him refusing to let go even after death when it really should be focused more on the girl who internalized his already passed existence by sculpting a wooden statue of him and then committing suicide in his arms to join him in the afterlife so they could be together. So +1 for the random girl in the pic.

mangalover0149 scythe??
The love between this warrior and the maiden was forbidden, and when they didn't abide they were cursed , the women would never be able to bear children. They didn't care about the curse and they thought their love exceeded everything, so the women got pregnant and they were happy because they the curse was false ,time went by and one day, the women was feeling immense pain in her stomach, the lovers tried everything but the pain wouldn't stop, the warrior tried carrying her to the shrine on top of the mountain to seek help, on the way the maiden now sings the song:
"There is a war inside my head": meaning she is confused questioning her decisions, not knowing if she would make it, not knowing if HER child would make it alive.
"And am drowning in regret": she is regretting ignoring the curse and bearing the child
The pain now stopped and she feeling dizzy, she knew her child died, she puts her hand on her stomach , and the song continues:
"My body's missing pieces": referencing to her baby whom she just lost
"Can't pull it all together" it's something that time can't heal, it's not a situation where one can pull himself together.
"The warrior turned to stone
The maiden now of bone
Together for eternity
Shall never be alone" *I took this last quote from the comment section*

This image has a lot of different meanings that can be taken from it. Many seem to think that the man was a warrior turned to stone while the women died of sadness. However I see it a different way. She’s curled perfectly into his grasp. If he were turned to stone in battle he would have on armor and be stood in defensive position. But he’s not. It almost seems like the women was mortally wounded, and in grief the man carried her to the top of a mountain before she passed, where afterwards he felt so hollow that his body was turned to stone
Wow
Would make sense. The streaks on the stone are tear-like.
yesss
I’m not crying YOU’RE CRYING!
Thanks for this
He slowed as he felt the blood seeping through his clothes.
Mustering all his strength, his voice trembled replying, "Til the end."
And as she passed he would stay.
Like statues they'd become.
The maiden fades to bone.
The warrior stands encased in stone.
His soul never to be freed.
Never to have roamed.
For eternity he stands watch.
All so she might never be alone.

But now I only listen to emotional songs which are mostly really sad or songs with sad lyrics with funky music.
the samurai did not accept her death and did not let go of her body and eventually became a statue to hold her body for eternity
Omg 😭😭😭 stop cutting onions
The samurai embraced its death so the end result being that the soul never left its vessel, meaning its eternally immortal. How we should all feel when we age and see flaws in ourselves no matter the circumstances.
I see it much the same way. And in a way that she chose to protect him from the weather and countless storms as the newly blossoming tree.
“He became a statue
holdn’on to her body -
she became a tree,
to protect him from the storms.”
It also makes sense when reversed: He died as a soldier/hero in war and got honored with a statue. She didn't want to accept his death and refused to leave the statue's side, eventually dying there. Now they are together physically AND in the afterlife. Why am I crying?

Maiden and Her Stone Warrior
"Will you feel lonely once I am gone?" she asked,
"Who said I will leave you, even when you are past?"
With a gentle smile, the maiden laid her head to rest,
The warrior pulled her close, in his everlasting embrace.
Beneath the sakura tree, an old stone warrior stands,
Holding his lover's skeleton in his gentle hands,
A testament to love that endures time's vast expanse,
Their bond still holds as centuries of seasons dance.
Like a candle's soft and mild steady glow,
Their love still burns, with a flickering radiant flow.
In this timeless stance, their bond remains,
Love like flames that never wavers or wanes.

She cupped a hand to his face, smiling bitterly, "Will you leave me too, my Warrior of Stone?"
He bit back tears, body shaking in disbelief. Why her. An innocence hated for existing, for wanting to make a change.
He forced a smile, voice husky as he whispered, "No... I won't leave. I'll always be here, standing by your side."
She stared at him, her eyes widening in momentary shock.
Her face scrunched as she tried to wipe away the tears rolling down her whitened cheeks, "You i-idiot... p-please don't torture yourself like this. Please. Just for...get... forget ab..out me..."
Eyes grew dull, colour left the face, and her outstretched hand slowly fell to the blood ridden ground.
"Eda...? EDA! You can't go, not until you win - WE win. You p-promised... you said..."
A flutter of blossoms flew across the broken field, and a warrior held the lifeless woman that was once his everything. She swore she would get her revenge. She promised him...
He gripped her tighter, sword in hand.
He would wait.

“You will marry anyone I choose and that is final, you are my daughter and you have no say in this matter!” Yelled the emperor
“This is what is best for our country! Do not be so self centered that you believe, you could have anyone of your choosing, Yumiko.”
Yumiko looked into her fathers eyes, tears starting to freely fall down her pale, delicate skin.
Yumiko gasped and said, “my mother would talk about you often, I just.. never believed her stories.”
The wind blew and as it did, his white elegant kimono, billowed outward, the leaves from the cherry blossom blowing past his face.
She smiled and cupped his face in her hand and said, “Why are you crying?”
He held her hand against his face and watched, as she went limp against his body.
Pure Perfection.
I wrote this story in 30mins so if it feels like it is rushed, it is. I still felt I should post my story though, hope you like it.
awesome
This is amazing! If you wrote a book I would definitely read it!! ❤️
Totorororororo thank you!
Kamomile Tea Dang thats tragic... all these adaptations are well crafted

That is a beautiful thought.
Kamomile Tea Well done u managed to make me shed a tear
short, sweet, bitter and beautiful just like dark chocolate.
He fought for her love
She fought for her life
A mind broken by the battle
A soul frozen by the loss
Waiting an eternity
Empty crown in hand
For a woman that already has a throne
Six feet underground...
To you, I simply say Thank YOU.
You simply touched my heart ❤️
Beautiful words ❤

In my case I fought for my love, but the love betryed and I went wild (cry) :P

The father said to his sickly daughter: "When you die, I will die with you."
The daughter choked back bitter tears, desperately pleading. "No! I need you to live forever. Strong, unbending, unbroken. The last pillar of my existence. The last one to remember my name."
The goddess of the tree was moved. She called to them: "I have heard both your prayers. Stay with me."
And every year, the goddess looks upon them.
She remembers, and weeps a thousand blossoms.
This is just so beautiful 😭😭😭 i loved it so much

I’m so proud of Yas and my son who produced this song for her. Her music style is very ethereal and allows the listener to wander through their inner self!

“No. I can’t.”
“Leave now. Please. For me.”
“I will stay for you. Always.”
The girl has long since decayed.
The man has long since hardened.
Her body became bone.
While his became stone.
To forever be carried by him alone.
The magic spell can never be undone.
It is his wish,
To never relinquish.

Oh my gosh thank you!

I clicked this vid because I was captivated by the illustration and here I found the music is beautiful too.

"Humans are foolish creatures, for they defy what is right and let their emotions take over their mind".
Also to say" we defy what is right" is a ambiguous subjective opinion of yours. For who is to say what is right and what is wrong. I definitely know it's not you or any of us of that matter.
But hey good job at being edgy and trying to sound smart you almost made it.
Sometimes it's just a matter of if you saw it or not.
and that's when you'll decide if you'll believe or not.
Who defines what is right and what is wrong?
my dog recently passed away. you can see her in my profile picture. i miss her so much. i can’t stand to look at her collar without balling my eyes out. the house feels empty and quiet. she took a piece of my heart with her when she left. this song reminds me of her idk why. ik she’s up in doggy heaven playing in the snow cuz it was her favorite. ik she’s happy and young. she passed away so suddenly. it was so unexpected but she’s happier now. i will see her again soon. i will just have to wait till that time comes.
If you truly want, you could see her again.
Just saying, theres hope for you
Jesus loves you more than anything else and he is waiting for you. You will see your dog in heaven if you are in heaven.

@@the_parthenon it's become one of my favorite quotes : ) I read it last year, loved it but forgot about it. This song brought it back again, resurrected it from memory. Now I'll always remember it 👍🏻
T'y men I lived this cotes
The violin combined with chill Electronic and with this singing .. that is a real masterpiece 👌
this song for me is about holding on to the memory of someone who no longer exists. someone that loved you and cared for you yet circumstances made both of you distant and now you don't even talk anymore. you see her in your dreams, you see flashes, memories and your mind rushes with possibilities of what could've been. it's when you can't let go of something or someone that isn't there anymore. you've lost her. let her go man. just let her go. yet you can't. you hold onto the hurt. let it teach you. let it carve you into a better person. so you are sitting there under the oak tree with a dead body of your love and waiting for things to bloom again. this is where i am. i hope it blooms for me one day. i will not let go. i will not give up. i will be better.
She finally found him.
Just as she remembered him.
Placing herself in his arms as she would do long ago
And feeling safe and complete
She faded away...
She REMEMBER WHO SHE REALLY WAS&IS😘😘😘
Hold my beer:
In his embrace, she slumbers.
A lovely face, but time alters.
They look upon the world,
Behold its wonders.
Eons have passed,
And more fly past.
The years are countless,
Beyond any numbers…
And so are mortal blunders.

It seemed to me like he’s unwilling or unable to change, stone cold, set in his ways.
While she continues to wait for him to, all the while silently rotting away in his arms
Yet, he cannot let go-
Nor can she find the willpower to leave his embrace
And so they continue bound together; he holds her bones in a tender embrace for eternity
As soft petals fall all over them through the seasons, quietly, finally peaceful.

after this comment, i watched all parts of Interstellar again :)
I want to be with you, where we fell in love, under the cherry blossom."
So he carried her there, sat with her for hours reminiscing their love. Until she slipped away, taking with her their unborn child. Hand on her stomach, hole in his heart, an empty crown was laid upon his head; and he turned to stone as the Cherry Blossom wept.
aweeba1 AMAZING!!! So hardwarming. I love it

Their love was sure divine
But rejected like a whine
And before the cherry bloom
She could only see gloom
The death wish for atone
Made the warrior turn to stone
As he sacrificed his life
For the remnants of his wife
DAYUM THE RHYMES

"All she could see is gloom"

This is the view from her.
Nobody is there. Samurai is dead.
She understands that completely.
But she really wanted to see him for ages.
Spring has come.
She became thin with grief.
The warm breeze that blows in spring. The scent of an ume flower.
She was reminded of her promise.
"Let's meet again under the ume tree when I get back from battlefield."
An ume flower in full bloom in the garden. She spoke to the tree.
"Be with me forever."
The warm breeze that blows in spring after a moment.
She was smiling and said nothing.
She fell into a deep sleep.
This is legit my cool down song every time I teach kickboxing, my students love it. Thank you.

How clearly
they cared dearly
for each other when they passed.

She smiled weakly to her lover, who's cheeks were stained with tears.
"My love...Do you remember what i told you about this tree?"
She muttered weakly
"Of course...That life is almost overwhelmingly beautiful but is also tragically short..."
He spoke with a hushed tone and he looked down at his smiling lover,a shaky grin pulling at his lips
"You have always smiled for me my dear.."
He added
The woman brushed her fingertips against his warm skin
"I'm so happy it is your embrace in which ill lay"
She whispered as her vision got blurry and her eyes closing for the final time
"And for eternity you will stay...In our next lives we shall be together once again.."
He said and held her lifeless body close.
The gods above pitied the fools, for their fate was inevitable and would only happen again and again. The man was once a powerful god who left his kingdom for a mortal and he loved her in each and every life she had.
He was forced to see his lover die,but she always lived a happy life with him...Until next time...
