  • In this video - Convert HO Scale Truck to a MOW Truck - I'm going to dive into an HO Scale Utility Truck, more specifically a maintenance of way truck and how I did it. I used several items I had on hand, some extra styrene, wire, and anything else I had that I thought would work. This was a super fun and pretty easy (not quick-quick) but quick enough. The build was not hard at all. If you do give it a try - just take your time and remember to have fun. I got the flatbed truck from my local train store - Blue Ox Trains - and they always have some super cool, but cheap vehicles. I grabbed a couple of these a while back and recently modified them out. Modifying Scale Model Cars (HO scale for this one) adds that little bit of extra realism to your layout or diorama! I just love doing these types of builds.

Hey man, love that 1st. Cav hat. I was with the Cav in Vietnam back in 1970. And I dig your MOW conversion. It inspires me to build something similar. Thanks!

Amazing work! How many trucks do you plan to build? I can't wait to start scratch building trucks for my Mammoet Yard on my layout! Cheers Brian

Came out great! What thickness of styrene did you use?

Very nice truck. Wondering if N scale wheels would be a good match for the guide wheels?

@@ProScaleModels kinda hard to know when you focus on HO scale. Who has extra scales kicking around?

Awesome tutorial! I am using this for a custom model I am working on as a guide.
I have to ask though, what kind of styrene are you using and what size is it? I bought the dremmel already, I felt like I needed that. Thanks!
