There is some *light* confusion here: The MG3 SW (2008-2011) was the Chinese revival of the Rover Streetwise which was a more ‘SUV looking’ version of a car called the Rover 25 that were both discontinued in 2005 when MG Rover ceased to exist and were bought by some Chinese companies. The MG3 in Forza is the second generation (2011-now) that dropped the ‘Streetwise’ name and acted as a spiritual successor to the old Rover 25. There was also a sporty version of the Rover 25 called the MG ZR which looked absolutely fucking hilarious.
I actually like seeing cars like this get added to to FH5, sure it might be shit in game, but it would've been a great starter car, wouldn't mind seeing something like a Nissan Micra or a Peugeot 206 be added in the future as starter cars
Forza is an arcade, it a sim, sure I would wanna see some regular cars Mercedes cla for example, or Toyota Matrix xrs but forza doesn’t really focus on that kind of things and that’s why actual sims exist (assetto corsa for example)
TBF, That sort of "basic economy-class shitbox" Starter Car is something of a standard in the Gran Turismo franchise, and I think it really helps sell the progression of that series. The Horizon games _used_ to do this, most notably with the Corrado starter car in H1, but in more recent games they've really shifted toward the more casual consumer end of the market; especially now with H5 starting you out with a Modern Supercar in the form of the C8 'Vette.
these everyday cars are the most fun in forza i think, because you can make like sleepers from boring cars. like 1200 hp 2jz swapped audi s1, renault clio with a 600 hp rally engine or a honda civic with a v8
Only because it's been out longer. While the mg3 is nice and any other new mg, I think the day for mg cars ended a long time ago. Don't think they will ever make a comeback if that's what they are trying to do.
I honestly am glad they added two new mg’s but instead of the MG MG3 they should’ve added the MG ZS that would of been a more interesting car or the even could’ve added the 1970 MG MGB or the 1941 MG TB but they had to add this.
"I want more common cars in the game" that's actually why I added a quite common car to my racing game. although the most kind of "sh*t boxy" one, a car I call the Femto City, isn't actually in the current version of the game.
We need more cityboxes in games. Turning them into good cars is a real challenge, and it's really fun to see one go from 66/kph stock to 150 moded. You don't get as much change from supercars.
@@LutraLovegood yeah balancing hot hatches to go toe to toe with hyper cars (like the Bugatti veyron) is providing to be quite the challenge. Basic level testing for this was when I put a Takashi KuKei (think scion xB) against a Parsa Henui (think Ferrari enzo with a rotary) in a drag race together, and the KuKei not only lost, but spun tire in top gear..... with the traction control on. So it's proving a challenge.
Can’t work out why but if you choose the black with red stripe paint, then paint the stock wheels black, the red stripe disappears. Mirrors stay red though.
At least its good for something XD Drifting a lukewarm-hatch is the best use of it, especially since if you crash its all el-cheapo anyways so its cost-effective to repair XP

For a game that's all about freedom I want freedom to pick a shitty base car like the things us scrubby gamer boys own IRL and modify it like we would IRL. Not just have the absolute fastest cars from every car make.

I had an MG ZR 1.8 vvc 160bhp. Awful interior but really fun to drive.

Hot hatch came from the 80’s. MkI golf GTi. XR2. 205gti etc. 100bhp was the standard.
