I first knew him when we moved to North Country, Redruth in 1968. People used to send him to town for shopping then they would let him keep some change. He would drink steaming hot cups of tea out of tin cans. He slept in an empty cow shed in the corner of a field, felt so sorry for him.
We used to see him most days when l was at school in camborne in the late seventies. Some say he used to be a teacher. There was an in joke in camborne if your were scruffy or dishevelled you were called a kitch. An expression some may still use today. He also used to have a friend of sorts, peter perv everyone called him.

His shoes are immaculate, ex-forces trait they say...maybe he was at Dunkirk, Normandy or who knows where.
