Unfortunately, this channel has been demonetized by TH-cam for the third time and therefore the Game Movie Vault has been closed. It was fun for over 10 years but I can no longer afford to spend the time to make these videos without being reimbursed by TH-cam. I have started a second channel that focuses on Diablo 4 and I am thinking of starting another separate Game Lore channel very soon.

i don't think people realize how dark, sadistic and sick Diablo 1 is until they play the whole thing. Diablo 1 makes the second one look like a normal action game and makes Diablo 3 looks like Dora the explorer.
Diablo2 is pretty scary but I very much agree there is a tonal shift. There is more story in the second HOWEVER more CHAOS 🔥in the first (making the pacing fast and unknown with no angels to guide you).
Nah Dora the Explorer is definitely darker than the atrocity that is Diablo 3.
Diablo 1 is like a fkd up sadistic horror movie, Diablo 2 is like a better, more in depth sequel and then you got Diablo 3, a light hearted marvel film compared to the rest.
From a lore perspective d3 is a buffet, that, I'm glad for. Drop rate is too abundant, runes are unacceptable, classes are great, I can't accept Cain dying to someone Adria considered lesser, ladder/seasonal play is better utilized, gold is too plenty, skills are too flashy but I think people have d2 on too high a pedestal sometimes. We're more overpowered because of the resurgence, edyrem are reawakening their power - there's a lore explanation at least. It's not "as dark" because it's been years since the darkening. Idk man, it's up to your tastes.

@@GawainSSB Yeah the story telling is so in the face. I personally liked the world 🌏when it was originally thought to have been ours -- because "Sanctuary" is not even well written enough. Best leave the world named "Sanctuary" omitted; and play on more well known Gothic horrors such as gargoyles and nymphs and shit gone demonic style. SLOWLY introduce new elements. Expand on what the world stone is LATER when you have enough story and reasoning.

When you play Diablo 1 online at the time of Diablo 1 you can't like the rest at all. That sadistic horror movie actually what is going on. You are fighting with the darkness for god sake. The atmosphere should be sadistic. Also at online you can't be a player killer in Diablo 2 and 3.. I mean come on...That was the point of the game. You can be betrayed or you can kill diablo together with friends. But you never know.

The second Diablo is the best. But I did enjoy the eeriee horror feeling you get from the first one. The third was just a Mhe wich just turned into a lootfest.

I played the first Diablo and finished it in 37 hours straight. I put that in my resume and it got me a job for Ubi Soft in 1997! :D
Diablo and Diablo 2 had an actual evil feel to them. They highlight just how bad D3 is.

Okay. The video at 2:00 is one I have never seen before and have played Diablo 1 countless time through. It is obviously the Butcher but I never got that in the game. What did I miss?
I've heard that the butcher did make an appearance first in diablo I and then in diablo III again. But I've never played the first diablo so I don't know.. Just heard rumors

Na-Krjl and Hellfire were fucking awesome, even if unofficial (the cinematic starting from 4:20 is from Hellfire). I hope Blizzard canonized it eventially.
the monsters were more INSECT looking so I am indifferent to that (Hellfire). I Love Diablo 1 cinematics.
I've put 5 hours into hellfire in the last week or so and man...it has not aged well. I was planning on finishing it before d2 resurrected comes out but I don't think I can force myself through it

@@NPC-bs3pm You progress through the Cathedral. Just keep going down until you reach the final floor.
I'm a level 13 Warrior and only have reached level 6 so i'm not close to having endgame gear. The gear I currently have was either received from doing the side quests (poisoned water supply, ogden's sign, arkaine's valor, etc.) or buying from Griswold in town.

d1 and d2 are so dark and metal...the newer ones...not so much.
D3 is like the best
D4is going back to the older Gothic style - darker than D3 and D2, if not as dark as the original.
@@russingram8101 wtf are you talking about. Look at Diablo 4 gameplay. Anime animations, mobile phone effects, and so on.
D4 isn't a good old western, gothic horror ARPG, it looks like an Asian mobile phone game.

Can anybody give a brief synopsis on Diablo 1 and 2 love the cutscenes but never played the game
Diablo 1 is an RPG adventure involving a hero descending deep into the bowel of a desecrated church in search of the Demon (Diablo) to kill. Diablo 2 is the sequence where the hero made his quest to travel to three different locations (a European-looking town, a desert town that looks like somewhere in the middle east, and a jungle settlement that looks like somewhere in the Amazon) in search of Diablo's three demonic brothers.

D1 was more relatable to real life (aside the magic). I know a lot of Christina kids back in the day were afraid to play this game lol. When d2 came out, it turned into dungeons and dragons/ full fantasy adventure game. D3, we just don't speak of it....
D3 honestly sits better on console. PC version was just sad

I know its way after the fact but the hellfire cinematic doesnt really fit here. sierra did the diablo1 expansion and it wasnt authoritzed so blizzard doesnt even acknowledge diablo1 now because of their lack of business knowledge and allowing sierra to get one over on them like that. and you missed the Diablo 2 Cinematic Trailer - E3 1998 which was a really bad ass cinematic thats not in the game itself

@@GameMovieVault i never play d2. Try it but didnt like graphics. So was blow away with D2R and play closed and open beta. I do like the story of diablo universe.
