Amsterdam is home to people from 180 different countries outside of The Netherlands, making up more than half the population of city, about as multicultural as you can get. Great job in pointing that out. Its one of the big things that make the city so interesting but its often overlooked by travel vloggers.
That Lebanese pizza looks rich in texture. I’m curious what the black sauce is?
I'm more curious, did you eat the Pomegranate seeds? Don't your teeth hurt when you bite them?
Watching you eat Herring, it feels like watching a baby seal eat, haha!
Thank you for sharing such a great market, way to go! 👍🤩👏
Pomegranate sauce
It’s pomegranate molasses😋
@@007JNR At 3'29", it is not!
@@jeanine3039 At 3'29", it is not!
@@giannishen then I guess you are talking about the beginning of the topping, that’s olive oil mixed with za’atar.
Always fascinated by the Netherlands....and I'm surprised by the foods from various countries there...to suit everyone...also the gentleman starting his own shop is really to be admired...always love to see markets...so colorful and tulips...so pretty!!!...enjoying this series....Thanks David...be safe....Peace.
Great to see you in the Netherlands and speaking dutch words ❤
Everyone should get a double espresso at Darras😋
your Dutch is getting better and better
I said it before & I'll say it again Dutch herring is delicious AF.
Yes! Albert Cuyp is my favorite market ❤️
Love the sweater and make up on you Melissa
Again a great video!
Thank you! ❤
How come I have never seen you before...great enthusiasm, and you know your food! Groetjes uit Nederland...
Hi David, I hope you come to the Netherlands more often to as there are even more foods here. Like in Den Haag
(Den Hague) is also called the big market and next to it is a roundabout, wich has a Surinamese Chinese to take foods. It is so good that even i had to stand in line that go's all the way outside. You should try pork with bread extra spicy 🌶️ if you ever go their. But also in The Netherlands you have Egyptian restaurants/ Mediterranean restaurants. There is also a Shoarma recipe created here in The Netherlands called Kapsalon (barber) they named it that because it is like a bole and a pitta with Shoarma and Fries. That is also a delicacy of The Netherlands. For me Surinamese food is best next to real Dutch foods. 👍🏽😇
Such a great diverse City :) Great food making me hungry time for breakfast :) Hope you have an amazing day ♥
Amsterdam MOKUM is the place to be. I enjoy your video. You shows the best places of Amsterdam. Thanks🎉
Hi David. So you went to Amsterdam and ate Middle Eastern food🤔. And finally you treated us to some Amsterdam treat. So all this time I have been pronouncing 'gouda' wrongly when it is actually pronounced 'howda'. Well, I'll be. We have the cookie-sized stroopwafels here in Toronto but, sadly, I can't eat any of them (diabetes). Very nice visit and video. Enjoyed it very much. Be safe and be well.🙏🏻❤️
Well yes Howda is almost right, now you just have to pronounce it while you pretend to choke to get that real gutteral "G" sound. Then its truly Dutch. :D
@@ageoflove1980 ok. Thanks
Thank you Judy!!!
@@Davidsbeenhere De nada. Mucho amor. Have a blessed weekend 🙏🏻❤️
Amazing markets!!😄❤
When I did my nurse training in Amsterdam at the beginning of the seventies, you had to go to the food specialities shop at the corner of the Ferdinand Bolstraat to get a pineapple. Now you have to go there to get a cauliflower. How times do change.
1 more thing though, if you want real authentic dutch food, it is mostly simple but not that simple. You would have to go more inland and find Dutch farmers that can make you traditional old Dutch food. Like 1 is green P soup with pork paws, a pigs nose, ears, tails. Allot of Surinames that came into The Netherlands made dutch friends in the north east of The Netherlands. And so like my parents teached them how to make Hindi Surinamese food and they teached us traditional Dutch food. And we modernized it abit with hot a pepper garlic etc.
🏆✅the best internet channel of the web ✅🏆 thank you Mr Hoffmann
The best commenters Gar Wing Cheung!!
That outtro was very funny :) Doei :) You pronounced it very well by the way.
The Lebanese pizza was utterly outstanding! All of the vendors were fantastic!
Welkom David, hope you enjoy your stay in the Netherlands. Great vid, rediscovering my own city :P
Leaving your over half hours ads to keep playing 😂😂😂😂😂
Great vlog
Omg you were in Holland and I missed it? Would have loved to meet you 🤗🥲
Nice video, subscribed! Your pronunciation of Dutch vocal is pretty good!
Thank you so much!!
Amsterdam ❤
Suatu saat nanti aku juga akan datang kesana😊, sehat selalu
The voice ;Goede morgen, hoe gaat met jullie, also we talk suriname🇸🇷🥰
That lebanese food looked delicious!! Will try for sure.
Wonderfull
22:28 the poor guy must have corrected thousands of tourists.😅
That za'atr on that bread omg ❤❤❤❤
Mmm pomegranate sauce such a good idea, yes we Armenians we love pomegranates as well 😊 I need to go to his stand, will be in Ams in a week 🎉
Top 👍🏻
I knew Belgium was famous for its waffles. I didn't expect to find them in the Netherlands also! 😁
Waffles is different then stroopwafels
I love stroopwafels. I wish I could get it like that. I get them in Publix
Goed gedaan Melissa!
Dank je wel! ❤
Het was een geweldige tour samen met David en Mike.
We hebben geweldige food ondernemers ontmoet en natuurlijk het heerlijke eten maakte de hele tour compleet. ❤
They export small versions of the Stroop Waffles cookies to the US. I'm not a huge fan of the combination of the strong cinnamon flavored waffle with the caramel but it is fun to have once in a while for a change of pace. The Lebanese veg wrap with the Zaatar spices looked scrumptious!
Uhm cinnamon? Idk lol I don't really taste that
@@d.6593 Well in the video they say it is one of the ingredients and if you ever buy them like I have, it is on the ingredient list.
short bearded David you are missed it makes you look younger in a good way
Yeah? You like your men shaved yeah?
There is an absolutely fantastic Vietnamese stall at the Albert Cuyp Market #completeamsterdam
finallly a video if the actual food of Europe and not what everyone else's culture....i hate seeing places that sell thiings i can get anywhere
What food from other cultures can you get anywhere? And I'm what country?
If Dutch people speak slowly then Afrikaans speaking South Africans can actually understand and some Afrikaans people can have a conversation as the languages are so similar. Afrikaans is basically a simplified Dutch.
I had a conversation with a girl couple years ago. I spoke Dutch and it took a while for me to notice that she spoke Afrikaans 😅
Recently came back from south africa and i honestly had hardly any trouble understanding people around me as a dutchmen
You should come during the Summer, then the Albert Cuyp Market is really nice.
I suggest you also visit the Dapper Market in Amsterdam East and some areas in South East Amsterdam!
The food in Amsterdam is mostly foreign though, but there are places you can eat pancakes.
Unfortunately nowhere that I know where you can have typical Dutch dinner. It’s mostly connected boring and mainly consumed by traditional Dutch people at the comfort of their home. ;)
Afrikaans comes from Dutch and is easy to understand compared to most languages and dialects in the Netherlands, especially when it comes to Frisian and Limburgs
@williaell Andrew Zimmern of Bizarre Foods had a episode in Amsterdam and found some traditional places to eat
Omgg u finally here, please i want to invite to our home and taste some iraqi food!!!!!
Halo saya pendatang baru salam kenal.vidionya bagus sekali❤🎉
Nice video, but little correction: a ‚winkel‘ means actually a corner !- 😎
Champ 👍
😊😊
No cafe reviews looool😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
oh you know thats coming soon my friend lol. Honestly I have a full video running a shop for the day but it'll get demonetized and hurt the channel so likely I have to release it members only. I'm trying to figure out how I can do this without getting a strike on my channel but to be real its an epic video, at least from what I remember 🤣
@@Davidsbeenhere 🤣🤣🤣🤣 wen in Rome brother xxx
David, when was this film.??
18 October
You need to let the stroopwafel cool down a bit.
Damascus 🇸🇾🇸🇾let’s goo 🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾
Are there more videos coming from your time in Amsterdam / the Netherlands?
yes many many more!

Just Curious David.....Have you been to Germany or Austria or Spain.??😒
I've been to all 3 however I've only filmed in Spain and I lived there for a long time also. I did do some Prague stuff a long long time ago! Germany I do need to revisit as well for a more modern series!

The biggist markt of Holland is in den haag, the Haagse markt, not Amsterdam
I like the poffertjes woman..Tourist put on really everything Nutella, and we dont put Nutella on pannenkoeken, stroopwafels en poffertjes
The best zaatar comes from Homs Syria 🇸🇾
I can only imagine! So good...wish I had some right now. Wishing you 10,000 blessings too Malikeh!

This guy legit said "all traditional Dutch street food" *and then the first thing we're shown is Turkish coffee! being made in hot sand like in Turkey .. with Turkish coffee pots.* As a Dutch Turk, my Dutch bros better not start claiming Turkish coffee like the Germans have been claiming they invented Doner lol Aww no, Syrian brodi didn't just claim our Coffee... Someone bring out the Ottoman banner.
I grew up at the Albert Cuyp market, the last 20 years it has changed into a market focussed on tourists only. Nothing there reminds me anymore of the original Amsterdam style market anymore.
Just one note: you are showing the fake Stroopwafel Vendors, there's only good Stroopwafel Vendor (father and son) who is located at the middle of the market. (which you did not show in the video).
I do not think the other stroopwafel vendors are fake.
Everyone has a different favourite vendor and that is ok but to call other hardworking vendors fake is simply not fair.
The father and son who also sell stroopwafels where not there at that day.
I love there stroopwafels as well ❤
And yes, hungry again after watching this!!!Your making me FAT David
Welcome to amsterdam. Come to east, Javastraat for great multicultural (cause colonialism 🙃) melting pot cuisines. I can show you around
🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇱🇧🇱🇧
Doesn't seem very Dutch to me!
Oh well🤷🏾♂️
Jouw zaak
Embrace for sharia law Europe 😂😂😂
Why make comments like that here? SMH
People in the Middle East don't even want to live under Sharia, let alone people in Europe
They often fled from Sharia law countries , i am sure they don't want to make it so they need to flee again. Basic logic you seem to lack.
Its not the real fooddie market ,the Albert Cuyp, overpriced and boring.
