    So interesting! I love the scents, sound, feel of walking through an ancient house. Beautiful in the day but maybe a bit spooky in the night!

      Isn’t it amazing that sometimes these old properties seem to retain those smells and sounds - as if they’re still alive with souls of all the previous inhabitants! And yeah, I’d feel u comfortable wandering around after dark 👻

      I was so happy that the volunteers were happy to talk to me. Goes to show that it’s worth asking them to share their knowledge.

    I've never understood why moat water doesn't undermine the foundations of a building. We're always told excess moisture is deadly to a building.
