Primary school was never the same. I remember during break time and lunchtime we would gather at the school grounds to compete who would pull off the rare watts move exactly as they did! Nostalgia!

Hey 80’s and 90’s babies. Here we meet again. All we need is maziwa ya Nyayo to drink and enjoy the festivities because primary school was awesome! Then watching Safari Rally on Saturday. What was the name of the famous Kenyan driver? I think Patrick something...? 🇰🇪

'Win-a-car' talent competition show united the country. It was a collective escape for kenyans on sunday nights just like another tv show, omo-pick-a-box, was. The dictator Moi was all over us breathing hard and this tv moments temporarily gave us a respite. Unbelievable that all that build-up and suspense for the finale was toward winning a little Italian car called a fiat uno (well, it was worth it because the pope also owned one nearly 25 years later). And then the Kenyan in us kicked in with rumors that the winners didn't really get the car after all etc. We Kenyans with conspiracy theories and all....unfounded claims, stories that just don't make sense etc. It was a nice way to start the 90s I think.

Yes bro, I used to enjoy this program on tv too despite Moism which choked us to death. This was among the only shows young kenyans didn't want to miss on Kbc which was the only monopoly at the time

This was the talk of all the 90's kids. I was lucky that the 3 rarewatts dancers were from my primary school. I was in class 5 then. We used to go see them practice on satos. Man it was fun. And then their trainer was our business education teacher - Mr. Bosco Onkoro. Sadly, they didn't win. No one thought jamcity would win... Lollest.

They deserved to win...they were unique no disrespect to jam city but rare watts should have won.

Remember them guys like it was yesterday.Too bad they didn't win though i thought they were better than jamcity.Remember it caused a mini riot as pple opposed the verdict. Also sokous party were not that bad.My opinion it shud havbeen 1. rarewatts 2.jamcity 3. sokous party .Thanks for the upload

Honestly, Rare Watts edged Jam City on creativity as far as their costumes were concerned. But i think they were evenly matched when it came to dance moves and choreography

Weren't they three? And were they real Masais?
Can you upload Jam City, if available...? That FIAT UNO car was a big deal!
This was the first time my parents allowed us go to a "disco-like" outing, at the KICC.
