Can we just take a moment to appretitate he’s giving all of this knowledge for free
I have never been to a judo dojo but thanks to your videos I have done these moves in bjj. That makes you my sensei
Sensei the world needs more people like you 💪
Danke!
Thank you both so much, Sensei and Big George. OSS. The details in this video are perfect.
Thank you. I love osoto gari in self defense but it hardly ever worked during grappling. This will help to finish it during training.
Thank you Sensei Shintaro for that in-depth explanation of osoto-gari. Body mechanics are important to understand, and you explained it very well.
Osoto gari kenka yotsu🎶🎶🎶👣❤️❤️
Oh wow. I can do the osoto gari now. Do the uchi mata next!
OSoto gari is a huge part of MCMAP and it shows up in GU women empowered and obviously I learned it in Judo too. Bro! I watched Jason Morris's wrestling highlight video! That dude just did osoto to people st will from every direction. I'm totally fascinated now and want to know more SO BAD!
Thank you Mr. Higashi. More and more, I’m finding that I wanna start on the feet instead of the knees when it’s time to roll. Thanks to your videos.
Amazing
Please more No gi Sensei Shitaro Higashi
Peace
Amazing resource! Can't wait to try these out in randori
totally like the details, thanks so much
Thank you Sensei ... Oossshh❤
Thanks for all the information. Great stuff sir.
As a LEO this was my favorite throw on the street. Devastating!
This was great for me.
More of this type of vid.
Pls
Thank you sir.
Thanks Shintaro I feel like this happens a lot in randori
Thank you great info!
O Soto Gari works very well in self-defense and street fighting. 1. It’s one of the most simple techniques and easy.
2. It’s what most people least expect.
I learned this hopping trick from Jeff Chan, but he used it with Uchi Mata. Never knew i could do this to increase Osoto gari effectiveness, genius
Thank you
i watched this video before a competition and hit this osoto for the win
Sensei, what is the purpose of practicing 'traditional' osoto with the large step if it doesn't look like that in randori or competition? My dream is to have an osoto gari like Yasuhiro Yamashita and Ono. Could you maybe make a video of Ono's variation of Osoto?
I would also like to see some variations that great modern judo players use
The last one he shows is pretty much how shohei does osoto
The 'traditional' approach is better for self defense, and emphasis on stepping up to the uke is important when you are fighting with striking involved.
@@wikingagresor Agreed! The traditional approach in self defense, also allows you to apply your own strikes during the execution. 💮
Emil Montes has the Ono osoto gari on his channel. Great breakdown.
The step is proportional to how far your opponent is, judo is always harder when you are further fro your opponent. If a big step is needed you are probably to far away.
Nice!!!!!
If head control is the most important factor on the upper body side, would it be effective for me to plant my palm under my opponent's jaw and push from there? That would seem much harder to resist than any collar grip.
Bought a shirt!
Does crossbody osoto create a risk of damaging Uke’s knee? 1:40
Nice techniques, but Osoto Gari is hard to execute in randori since we can be countered
99% of osoto gari tutorials or "how to fix osoto gari" on TH-cam are still teaching the traditional way. We're finally seeing a turnaround where more people are realizing there's literally 0 evidence traditional osoto gari works against a resisting opponent at all, but it's a very slow, change-resistant situation. It seems even the adaptive sport styles have some bias towards adhering to tradition.
Is he going to stand there while you hold his knee and hop forward?
If you have proper head control like Shintaro demonstrates the he won’t be able to move cause all of his weight will be on his leg.
Early!
all that about the title of the video and its not even the title
