    My favorite character is Iroh I like how patient, knowledgeable, and caring he is putting his past aside. Also I would love to be a water bender because of how useful it is. Ex: running late and don’t have time to dry your hair just pull the water out of it, on a run during a hot summer day turn your sweat into ice

    I already commented but we consider the fact that Kyoshi uses fans even though she was born Earthbender? I know that she was the avatar and she could also airbend but wasn't it said that airbending would've been the most difficult for her?? It's awesome and iconic but still, a bit ironic, lol that ryhmed.

    • @etellan
      @etellan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +197

      You're spot on, she actually found it hard to master her birth element. She used the fans as they were her mother's, her mother being an air nomad. She found difficulty in mastering her earth bending as she couldn't focus on precision, so her fans help her be in control of the element 🤗

    • @kmt3256
      @kmt3256 4 ปีที่แล้ว +47

      Agreeing with the previous reply, Kyoshi was born from an air nomad mother. This ties into what Iroh teaches Zuko and what you see in the LOK series. Oh, and Toph. If you are a bender, you Are born with the innate ability to move that element. you are taught how to do so by others who have done it before you. They are just teaching you how they were taught. Whether you use those fighting stances or others you developed on your own, it is you connecting with that element that moves it. Toph’s Earth bending style is entirely different it is never seen anywhere else in the entire series. When Kora becomes a pro bender she is taught in entirely different style of fighting. Iroh Learned how to redirect lightning by watching water benders. Bending and elements is putting your spirit into that element and moving it based on your will. that requires a lot of concentration as to why martial arts is linked to bending the elements. It allows you to connect your will, or bending, to a physical movement.

    • @Kul3girl
      @Kul3girl 4 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      etellan Kyoshi actually only had trouble earthbending small bits of earth. She could naturally move giant rocks, which is usually what earthbenders have trouble doing

    • @danielutzon4870
      @danielutzon4870 4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      The hardest element to bend is more dependednt on personality than origin element. Remember how Korra struggled with air even though she was by nature a water bender, and fire should be the hardest? She is more of an earthbender in her way of being so air is the biggest struggle. Just adding to what the others said

    • @kirbygipson1056
      @kirbygipson1056 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mookie air would have been the most difficult for to learn because it is the opposite of earth. The element opposite of the Avatars natural element is usually the most difficult for them.

    As for my element, I always wanted to be a water bender. I've always loved the mystery of water and the moon and Katara was always my favorite. Earthbending is definitely my favorite bending element and style. After seeing toph i really was drawn to the angelic way that she interprets her way of bending into the earth bending ways. In general, I like how the earth benders use a punch and kick technique but what I admire the most is tophs technique, a bunch of quick and smooth motions including the fact that she has seismic sence. All in all, earth bending is my favorite and I don't even have to explain how Kyoshi made me love earth bending even more. Honestly, the whole avatar franchise has brought light into my life even though people think its just a silly kids cartoon show.

    WATERBENDING FOR LIFE!!!!!! Katara is a character that I see so much of myself in, so that kind of drew me in. But also I just love everything that it stands for. It’s the element of change. Considering we're both aussie and roughly the same age I'm guessing you had the same amazing experience of watching Rollercoaster and Elliot. So many amazing cartoons that I wouldn't have gotten to see if it wasn't for that show. Love all you dolls but this one is definitely special. Would love to see more avatar characters!

    there's definitely an 'atla renaissance' going on right now, and this is such a beautiful contribution to that. I think you really captured Kyoshi here, and I appreciated the commentary, too :) I'd love to see more; I feel like Katara is an obvious choice, but there are so many strong characters to choose from and I'd be happy to see any of them.

    I think the bender element I was always drawn to was water. I always loved the kingdom they lived in and their fashion and culture. Plus I thought that the actual ability to bend water would be amazing.

    I have many fond memories of my cousin and I playing ATLA in my basement when we were kids. She would always be Aang. Sometimes I’d be Katara, but mainly I always wanted to play toph. It was so much fun, we could play for hours and hours.
    What drew me to toph was her blindness. But not “poor her” - she was so self sufficient and strong and stood up for herself. She was the embodiment of thriving to me. Which makes sense looking back. I’m studying occupational therapy right now. But yeah, toph always ❤️

    I have been looking for videos like this. Avatar The Last Airbender doll repaints. This is by far my favorite tv show. I would love to see the whole team. Zuko would be amazing. Or Katara as The Painted Lady. Zuko and Sokka are my favorite characters, they were never the strongest, or the chosen one. They had to work harder to be on the same level, and still often wasn’t acknowledged for their achievements. Zuko was the older child, but his sister was a better firebender. This cast a shadow on Zuko’s still impressive bending ability. On top of that, he was a mater swordsman in a difficult sword art. He mastered duo swords and was a effective fighter without ever using his bending abilities. Sokka was the only non-bender (not counting suki) on the team. Katara, became a water bending master and fought for women right. Toph blind earth bending master whom created a new form of bending. Aang was the avatar and defeated Ozi without killing him. This shadows the fact that Sokka was skilled and a difficult weapon, the boomerang. And when felt inadequate, learned how to HAND CRAFT a sword AND mastered how to use it! Zuko and Sokka was to work harder, and be better just to be acknowledged as equal.

    I have printed tapestries and rugs for small scale dollhouses on my Epson printer. I take 8 1/2 × 11 printer paper. I put dots of glue stick around corners edges and center randomly. Then I lay cotten fabric over the paper and press down. Flip it over and trim to the edges of the paper, and print as always. Fabric for dolls can be made to scale and pattern.

    A good practice for using spray paint or any "rattle can" in the cool weather is to warm the can before spraying. You can put it is a bowl of hot tap water a few minutes before you are going to use it or wrap it in a hot towel when you take it outside. I work with rattle cans a lot and live in a often cool and rainy climate. Warming the can has made all the difference to getting projects finished in a timely manner.
    Another way, if you know you are going to be using it, is to put the can between your legs (got this amazing tip from Seasonal Frostbite - youtube channel name), or you can put it at the back of your chair and sort of sit on it.

    I loved to be a fire/air bender. The fire was strong, dangerous, lively, wild, yet it only lasts in the way one would interpret it.
    In the air aspect it was free, swift, playful, but piercing with pain that it would poison one's view to see on what kinds of change shall stain it.
    I don't really remember on who inspired me in ATLA when it came to these elements. But the adaptability that can shape these elements for the better or worse.

    I've always been very connected with water in general. I remember sitting in the bathtub as a child imagining I could water bend, and when even now when I'm swimming I just feel safe. Like the water is my friend. It's kind of funny how I've never really left it behind and now work as a swim instructor for children.
    I'm not quite sure where this passion for water and swimming comes from, but it's just a part of me. Plus I'm also a Pisces so I'd like to believe it's all somehow connected lmao.
