    I always come to your videos looking for a solution to a specific problem but always learn a lot more just by watching the way you go about things. This brilliantly short video answered my query but also showed me that by right-clicking on a part of a character Daz offered a number of selections (e.g. whole character, arm, arm bone, sleeve, sleeve bone). You didn't explain it you just did it and it saves me so much time as I was constantly running up and down the tree in the scene tab. Brilliant. Your videos are the best. Many thanks.

    Been using DAZ Studio for years and I didn't know about the Fit to Mode option. Thanks, Jay.

      Same! 10 years in myself, (almost!) save a few months (time of writing) and I'm like _whaa?_ at 2:28 "it also works on groups". I use groups _a lot_ in my projects and yet sure enough... didn't know this ;)

    Wow - I've been trying to find out how to do this for literally a decade or more! Thanks Jay!

    Wonderful! I knew there had to be a way to manipulate fitted objects but for years couldn't find out how. So helpful! Thank you!

    This was decisive. It allows me finally to re-fit G9 hairs etc to an "unsupported" G8 figure using "Fit to Mode" changed to "Auto Follow Transforms". It still needs some tweaking and scaling then, but before watching this howto, I thought this is impossible and I was stuck, thinking G9 and G8 would be finally incompatible. They are, but one can play with it. Thanks!

    I've been messing around with Daz for a couple of months now, and just like with Blender, I'm always learning something new. Great information! I will say, it would be nice if Daz incorporated some kind of metrics in a side panel (like Blender), so that we could manually enter coordinates for objects and their pivot points. This would make placing something at the origin more precise, as we could enter "0" in all the fields. Eyeballing it can be a bit tedious at times, especially if the object is obscured from sight in one of the views by something else. I really do enjoy using Daz for custom character creation. The options are outstanding. I just think it could use an upgrade on its interface to something more modern and/or user-friendly. The current setup gives me vibes of starting up an Apple computer in the early 90's: insert the floppy disk and perform a warm/cold boot.

    thanks Jay, this is very helpful especially the duplicate tool, by the way, is there any way to implement cheek dimples to a character ?

    Thank you Jay. Keep up the good work. I do have a couple of problems though. 1. How do I find and fix the duplicate file problem? And 2. Why do my morphs revert back to normal figures when I save the scenes and reload them? This effect often occurs with genesis 3 and 8 figures.

    Is there an auto center to geometry option like "Axis Center" in Cinema 4D? or even a script to do so? I need to center the pivot super accurately in a car wheel that wasn't rigged perfectly.

    Tried this on a character and it just moves them. Would be great to know how to fix this for characters considering how poses can be really bad at putting it in a bad place.

    Hi Jay,
    do the pivots have to do with the zero point of the character, because I am currently trying to import into Unreal Engine 5 my character, but constantly in DAZ my character makes an immense offset and the character floats entirely in the air. Don't understand this at all right now.

    • @Daz_3D
      @Daz_3D  ปีที่แล้ว

      In the character in Daz Studio in the centre of the scene? If not, try to put it there and see how the transfer works to UE. If you want to adjust the pivot point in UE, you can use ALT+Middle Mouse Button to adjust it (using the translate tool), then right-click on your object and choose Pivot - Set as Pivot Offset.

    Does anyone use 4k monitor? I can't get daz3d UI in 4k it works fine in Photoshop, Blender but the daz UI is like very pixelated 😵
