This is the finale of "Hans Westmar", a film about an SA trooper based on the life and murder of Horst Wessel. The last shot of this scene which was cut shows communists attending this parade initially protesting, only for their clenched fists to gradually turn into an extended hand roman salute.

I like the rare footage. Though I have some heavy criticism.
It's kind of not educational if you censor the symbols.
If you want it to be educational, you must do it the whole way, not halfway it.
So what if it's offensive? It must not be censored for the right of education.
I've seen it be done before with many other videos when they were for education purposes.
I would do if it wasn't for the fact that TH-cam takes down videos for showing the symbols, claiming it falsely as "hate speech"
It has happened to me before so sometimes unfortunately I need to do it.

PS...I'm 43 and just wondering if anyone my age still reads(yes they are mostly fiction) the Sven Hassel series of novels. Oddly Assignment Gestapo was the first adult book I read,given to me by my......grandfather! We later found out shortly after the war he had a kid with a German woman so I have German relations.
Though I don't agree with your opinions , ideals or your gender orientation , I have the utmost respect for your grandfather and I thank him for his service , their generation was something else , so brave and chivalrous , boys in their teens off to war to fight for their fatherland and most never made it back and those who did make it back had to suffer the mental trauma that they endured in the battlefield till their last breath . But unfortunately everything that they fought and died for is being undone now with every passing day
