    Most of Japanese mechanics love Snap-ON. KTC knew that Snap-ON is the top of tool manufacturer. Therefore, KTC created Nepros to beat Snap-ON. In general, Nepros is slightly cheaper than Snap-ON in Japan, but if you buy it from outside of Japan. It could be more expensive than Snap-on.

    • @testaccount2343
      @testaccount2343 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Snap-On is NOT the best tool manufacturer. Their quality is going down.

    • @qwertpoiuy430
      @qwertpoiuy430 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@testaccount2343 they might not be the best, but for sure they are the top.
      Now their ratchets are for sure to me the best out there. Better than Mac, cornwell, matco, proto, sk. Anything else usually is better value, but not better product
      But the rest are just fine imo.
      Now I have not handled nepros, just a little ktc. But I assume that the nepros are up there.

    • @Orr_s

      @@qwertpoiuy430 these ratchets for the money are definitely overall heads above Snap-On. I assume just because snap-on is so big now that quality, fit and finish, and so on isnt as good. Now you get the same warranty with Nepros and Snap-on but if course you pay a little for convenience of Snap-On trucks to get you tools back in a timely fashion and taken care of. These ratchets are little cheaper, the design and execution of them are absolutely high end. Theyre made like a swiss watch and when you open one and hold it you wont even want to use it or get it dirty or scratched lol i have the 1/4” stubby flex head and the teeth and so nice even not broken in right out of box

      @@testaccount2343it depends the specific tool. Everyone talks about brands as a whole, good or bad. In reality every brand has certain tools that are excellent and certain that suck. Their are certain tools that snap on makes better then everyone else and certain tools everyone else makes better then snap on.

      If you work on Japanese vehicles, I recommend getting a Vessel or other brand of Japanese no. 2 driver. They fit better.

    • @michaelmckay
      @michaelmckay 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@eXiteVideoMagazine Thank you!! Yes I LOVE Vessel, JIS works so much better than regular PH2 for US specs.
      Sounds like you came up big on Tone, no such sales around here in the US. The reviews I have read all said smooth as silk like the Nepros, just not the good finishing. The Tone was 72 tooth though, not a deal breaker.

    • @eXiteVideoMagazine
      @eXiteVideoMagazine 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike McKay I did! I also got their mini bit driver set, for like the equivalent of 14 dollars.
      The finish of Tone isn’t as good as Nepros, but it’s a little nicer than KTC’s standard line, IMHO. Both are still good though, because they don’t slip in a bare, greasy hand.
      Koken also has a “Nepros” grade set called Zeal.
      Hard for me to comment on longevity, as I’m just a weekend warrior. I do love a good tool, though. KTC is the factory tool for Toyota, at least here in Japan. I don’t know about their American factory tool provider.
      I’m still using a lot of my old Craftsman raised panel stuff I had from the late 90s, but I have been buying some stuff in Japan before I come back to America.

    If you think these american or japanese ratchets are good you should really try the Stahlwille ratchets for example the 3/8 locking flex Head is the 452qr. It is a flex head locking quick release 3/8 ratchets. I have Snap On ratchets and in comparison to the Stahlwilles they are garbage.
    Greetings from Germany

      I have the Stahlwillie flex head ratchet, and I like my Wera zyclop speed better. I am going to get some of these, they look like they blow them out of the water.

      i have a set of stahlwille flex heads 1/4 3/8 1/2 and the flex mechanism has been destroyed 3x and the chrome or whatever the coating the use has chipped noticeable flakes.. :/ i also have nepros and koken.. i think nepros is the best in my opinion.. the german tools are great for work but nepros are beefy and like artwork

    You got a ratchet that's not a Locking Flex-Head Comfirt Grip!!!!!! I'm surprised!!!! That nice though. Would a 3/8" Head fit in their 1/4" Body?

    Hello again Clay
    Those are amazing to look at. I am hoping that you actually use them and let us know how they are at work side of things. I would also like to know about there wrenches. I am looking to upgrade from my Craftsman wrenches. Especially the open end/box end wrenches. I am looking at the anti-slip teeth as a game changer. Thank you again for another Great Video.

    Just got my Nepros 3/8 long compact ratchet (90 tooth) and compared it to my Snap On 1/4 fine tooth ratchet (72 tooth) because the heads were about the same size. HANDS DOWN...SNAP ON WAS MADE BETTER!! I took them both apart and compared the internals. First thing I noticed was the backing place was VERY LOOSE on the Nepros compared to the Snap-On. I had to be careful because I almost stripped the little phillips head screws on the Nepros. Snap On hex were screws much larger. You could tell just by the backing plate the Snap On was machined BETTER! The Snap on plate even had a rubber o-ring seal for the head driver!! The best way to ruin a ratchet is to let liquid get inside the head. Obviously Snap-On knows this and Nepros does not. Nepros had oil lubrication, the Snap had grease. The paw on the Snap On was LARGER than the Nepros and you could also tell the tolerance on everything inside the head was much tighter on the Snap-on. Im glad I just bought one Neros just to try it out. The first red flag should of been the pretty box the Nepro came in. Sure the chrome was better than the Snap On, but chrome plating is probably one of the easiest steps in the manufacturing process compared to the fine machining. I was very disappointed with the Nepros.

      90 tooth stuff isn't made for being strong.
      Crack it with your breaker bar first, that's what it's for!

    You can order from amazon japan, www.amazon.jp, and get better prices. I have all the 3/8 Nepros sockets in shallow and deep, 6 and 12 point, about 14 dollars a piece with shipping 4 years ago. Cheaper if a set, than by the piece individually.

      You have no idea what you are talking about. You listen to what others say that are also clueless. I have been wanting a Nepros ratchet for at least two years. You guys really should understand that a guy can have more than one tool or like more than one thing. Every one of ya’ll should grow up
