These are such good ideas. I want to make all of my children’s dogs and this will be very helpful. I guess a black dog might have shades of black, grey and blue maybe? Black seems to be challenging to get the contrasts. Thanks for the good tips.
So many things a person can do with wet felting and needle felting, I wish I started this years ago. My poor head is swimming with ideas and things I want to make! Thank you Marie for tons of information and how to's!
Thank you!! I got partially the way into a project the other day before I remembered I could blend to achieve variegation!! The color blending and viewing window tips in this video are indispensable!!
I can't believe how lucky I am that just as I was asking how to approximate my daughter's hair for a doll you responded that you were doing this tutorial. Seems magical. Thank you SO much!
This was VERY educational. Thank you. I am new to this hobby so I have not tried a realistic piece (yet). I look forward to trying it. Please do more Wooly Wednesday's on needle felting realistic projects!
Thank you for this video. The viewing window idea is a great tip. Also thank you for using the batting fibers and the long fibers in your demonstration.
What a great ideal to set up a color swatch library. It is amazing the variations you can come up with to really bring your project to life. The viewing window and project information are really great tips.
The greyblack swatches seemed even more telling than the browns…sometimes I have a hard time imagining how the greys will look., and I really appreciate your reminder to save the darkest shades for detail
Fab WW! Love the focus window idea. Much easier to see the actual color blend on the subject. Also the scale to weigh the wool for a consistent blend. I knew I had one of the Wild and Tame packs but found it was the medium so I'll be ordering the fine. Also found your 3 year old video on blending fur and am watching that now. You mention blending both the NZ Corriedale and the Merino Top together as an option. If I did that, would I cut the Corriedale to the same staple length as the Merino before blending?
What an interesting session! Really appreciate the ideas re organizing swatches for future reference. This applies to any blends we create for our projects. Thx!
This has opened up so many avenues to improve on my 2D portraits! The window method is one, and actually swatching my blends, instead of trying to guess how I got my color is a brilliant way to organize myself! Do you plan to sell those clips with the tags?
I lovbe how color is made and how you file and organize the swatches. If I haven't worked in a medium in a while I make color swatches ( watercolor/acrylic" and now felt! Basics will be found in any medium.

Yes, blues really help with "black" subjects...as can purples.
Love this Swatch Library!, thanks for sharing all of these great ideas and all the helpful tidbits that go with them 💕

Im so glad you guys are covering this again. Its been a few years maybe. Mixing the wool is key!
I love how each week you break whatever you teaching down into easy to understand steps to achieve great success.
Thank you!! So helpful. Is there a video on getting different animal textures?
The elephant class in our school is excellent for the wrinkly skin, we have fur videos, what other textures would you like to see?
Such beautiful colors and options to mix!!!

Great idea on the swatches! I love it. And the download chart is great too!
Thank you for this video. The viewing window idea is a great tip. Also thank you for using the batting fibers and the long fibers in your demonstration.
The swatch ring is such a creative idea! And the viewing circle to see the colors works so well! Those are my favorite takeaways!
Love the idea of the focus window and palette. I will definitely be making them.
Really great suggestions for blending and making samples! I love the focus window! This came at the perfect time for me! Thanks!
That viewing window idea is fantastic! I remember doing that years ago when I was taking a quilting class. It's so helpful to isolate colors!
Great ideas for making up blends and for creating/storing swatches. You always have such helpful tips, thank you Marie!

I love the idea of putting together a color swatch library! And I will definitely have to try the viewing window.
What a good idea! I don’t make 3-d, but I make multiple pillows and often forget what I’ve used. Also, I’m a big fan of your fibers.
İt should be "analytical or systematic" felting, good idea.🙏

It could be helpful, but I often cut after :)

Can you use a thin sharpie on the back of the felted sample. Number it to match the tag.
That's a great idea Lawanda!
Good thinking
Learned so much! what a great way of creating new colors and storing them. I learned so much about color focus for fur and hair! thanks!

Un grand merci pour ce partage 🥰😘
