@@Denzeru8 Sigma has severe mental issues after the accident he had trying to contain a black hole. He used to be a renowned scientist and had frequent interactions with the like of mercy but those all stopped when talon took him out of the asylum and turned him into a criminal.
The interaction itself is sigma thinking he had just had a conversation with mercy recently when in reality it's been decades a sign of his mind deteriorating

Oh wow, I always thought he was being sarcastic towards Lucio saying that his music was distractive as a bad thing, I see now that it was a compliment, Lucio's tunes are a distraction for him from his mental mayhem.
Faeries are big in Gaelic beliefs, so Moira taking about faeries talking with Sigma is akin to speaking with tricksters that take your soul.

Another thing that you may have not known sigma actually was a friend of mercy before the incident and the reason he says what Melody is that when he uses his ult is pretty sad he's actively insane due to his abilities and mourias experiments on him he's sad but one of the most wholesome chacthers
Overwatch somehow has both the best character writing and no good writing and I think Blizzard should be held criminally liable for not letting that story become something.

I think Sigma is my favorite character in the game.
Arguably, he's canonically the most powerful character in the roster. He has full control over gravity, but little control over his own mind.
Worse, he's in the hands of Talon and Moira. Making them seem more dangerois and cruel by implication alone.
I still can't believe how a studio could craft and world and characters with so much depth and story but do nothing with them. Truly such a shame to see what greed will do to a once great company.
He stays in talon because they convinced his age addled mind he has to stay ☹️

Probably would've been able to get more about him and a bunch of other characters if Blizzard had actually done the story mode they originally said they'd do. The only way you can get other info about characters is through cinematics or the comics.

Yeah, it's probably a combination of both talon and his own mind and since he can't see the difference he accepts them as his reality

Well, since Moira is Irish, it's more than likely just a sarcastic remark. There's a saying in Ireland that goes like "Oh him? Nah, he's away with the fairies." It's a saying that means someone is just kind of insane or has no self awareness.

Sigma is the perfect character. He is not inherently good or bad, he's just a shattered person who is trying to keep himself together after a tragic incident. Kinda like Tracer and her Slipstream accident.

You never really notice it with the actual heroes because their interactions are usually just "You're evil" and Moira responding with some snide remark but every interaction she has with her Talon teammates, Sigma especially, reminds you there is literally no one she won't try to exploit. Even Sombra, who's legitimately playing both sides, won't mock or deride Sigma the way she does

A thing to note is that whenever Sigma seems to be talking nonesense, it is somewhat related to the situation he finds himself into, and sometimes that nonsense is a good reflection of reality trough a weird prospective of his.

Even in the moments where he seems to be just spouting absolute gibberish, or acting as though a situation entirely separate from the one that's actively happening in front of him, even those interactions he's seemingly having with himself or whatever entity key views as the extra stuff he sees in his head, allows him to basically interact with the situation with the proper insight to come away from it having had what amounts to that interaction normally, but from his perspective it's something weird or hallucinogenic. So he might say something weird and crazy but when you actually pay attention to what it is that he said, it becomes apparent that even in the kind of gibberish talk the thing that was said actually makes sense for the situation still @@vinyoghost1846

It’s so sad to think that Sigma is just an innocent old man who had something horrible happen to him and now he’s essentially being tricked by Talon somehow, and he’s just incapable of seeing it for himself, yet everyone else can see it plain as day and can’t do anything about it, because to Sigma it’d be like they’re trying to force him away from the people he knows and trusts, even if they don’t all trust him back, if that makes sense.
