Hey Jason! Very cool tut and plugin! Ended up buying it. One question - do you know how to do a dollyzoom with this plugin? Haven’t been able to pull one off
Another amazing tutorial! I've learned so much from you and gotten so much useful plugins that have made life in AE so amazing! HandyCam has been on my watchlist for a while but seeing it in action is mindblowing. Also, another shoutout for Deep Glow!! Everyone should get it!
Hi! I love ur tutorials about maps but i dont have enough money to buy Geolayers. Can you do a tutorial on how to make a historical map WITHOUT geolayers?
Greetings, Dear! If it's not too difficult for you, could you tell me what program do you use to add sound to video from After Effects? Thank you for your work! Health to you and your family! Greetings to you from Russia!
Hi :) I just bought the plugin. Do you know why I dont see the "camera red "triangle" " that is projected in the camera view? It will only show if I have the camera layer selected. But I see you shy the camera layer. If I have the null object controller selected, I can use the camera controls but the camera view wont show the camera projection. How can I fix it?
@@BooneLovesVideo Yes, I have activated 2 views, one of them is the "Classic 3D". Selected "left" but I can't see the projection unless the camera layer is selected (highlighted). If I select the null object it won't show the projection.
Hey Boone, thanks so much for sharing this. With Handycam, do you know if it's possible to circle/fly/orbit around a POI on a map? In AE proper, I use a null and null-parented camera, tilt the Null's X rotation 45º, and animate the last number of the Null's Orientation parameter. I only have a trial version of Handycam and haven't figured how to do that with Handycam. Perhaps the trial version has some limitations that get unlocked when you purchase?
Hey there, thanks for sharing, a question, since create null from path is not working well with 3d, I just tried your method, key frame from path and paste it to position in a new null, the thing is how can I slow the path for certain focus ? The way you have shown in the video prolongs the total duration but cannot make some spot focus in the time, for example, I want to go from point A to D but in the middle, when reaching point B I want to focus 5 seconds and when point C 5 seconds more than continue with the same speed.
@@BooneLovesVideo Figured it out in the end. You just go: View > View Options, change “Camera Wireframes” from the default setting (“When Selected”) to “On.”

Thanks Boone! You taught me a new trick with the 3d null position on the path. Cheers.
Best place to learn about after effects pluggins!
Hey thanks!
Very practical way of controling camera move in AE, thank you Boone.
You're welcome!
I can't thank you enough for this tutorial you are doing a really good job right here all respect
Look at that, working with the Cantino Planisphere at the same as my favourite tutorialist (is that even a word?)!
Tutorialist is a great title. I'm changing my LinkedIn profile immediately...

Very cool! Glad you're going to pick it up. It's pretty fantastic. And yeah, Deep Glow is great in almost all situations, haha.

The basic panning features of Handy Cam for free just parent your camera to a null and animate the null position.
Thankyou boone ❤️
You're welcome!
thank you
yes this good tutorials. And I get more idea from this. thank you
Happy to hear that!
Great Video!
So good!. Thank you so much for your videos. Ive learned so much from you. Starbucks on me next time.
Awesome!!!
very helpful
Any tips on adding depth of field?
What about if you want to animate from looking at one Null to another Null - like VCP's SureTarget did?

hey man, wondering if you can pull focus with this - so if I have focus locked to a layer is there anyway of THEN moving focus ?! Thanks

All this without even touching any settings, just took a null object, applied the handycam effect, click setup, and that's it.
I have AE 24.0.3
I hope you make more tutorail with that camera control with many photo.
Example The Israel-Palestine conflict from Vox.
Great idea, I'll add that to my to do list.
Did you also make drown cartoon animation thing's too, like ben marriot?
Nah, I'm strictly maps. I've done a few things for other channels, but nowhere near his level of course. 🐉🔥

Orbiting always seems to be a headache. Let me play around and see if I can come up with something simple via HandyCam.

How do you get the camera in the top down view to be permanently visible? I lose it every time i click off the camera layer.
Hey Simon. Did you already switch to 2-view mode in the comp panel?
