With almost being forced to play a monk the past season I really fell in love with the monk, but DH, Necro, and Barb are all looking like they will be a lot of fun with the new angelic crucibles. May be the first season I try to gear every class. Can’t wait for the new season to hit.
Raxx i always enjoy this kind of videos but in the future could you include a hardcore tier list as well? Ranking on the softcore factors + survivability
The reason I don't include a hardcore tier list is it is virtually the same as softcore. Most HC players use the exact same builds with a pinch more survivability.
@@Raxxanterax Don't some builds sacrifice more power for survivability than others? I think it would be interesting to see approximately how much they lose to their softcore counterpart. Now to clarify i'm not requesting an entire separate video, but maybe you could include a point for HC solo pushing in the tier lists. No matter what you decide i'm still going to watch your videos, i just think it is a good idea.
Last time I played hardcore I used the very same builds but just added some more vit using paragon. It is what rax said and does not impact that much. And even losing a passive for a cheat death is not such a big thing (when classes and builds vary by 10 to 20 gr tiers) ... none of both has such an impact 😉.
Dedicated Crusader main. Phalanx has been something I've been wanting to play since Preseason 1. Buff or no buff, I'm playing it. However, probably going to start a zBarb to farm up first. At this point, they need to give Sader the DH "Odyssey's End" or WD "Horrify Aura" treatment at this point. Its been since like Seasons 1-2 where zSader was a thing. CRUSADER. HOLY KNIGHT. PALADIN. HELPFUL. THIS CLASS SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE A RELEVANT SUPPORT BUILD. Replace one of the powers with "Enemies hit by Smite take 10% increased damage for 4.5 seconds, stacking up to 20 times". Promotes as light speed, active support build. Also Smite has been useless forever, and its such a cool skill.
I always enjoy these videos. They are part of the whole new-season-incoming experience for me. DH is my favourite class. I have played it when it has been 7th in this list. Great to see that it's in such good shape for yet another season - the last two years have been very good for DH.
Literally the top two DH specs for GR (cluster arrow Marauder and Strafe GOD) are getting their own superpower from the new angelic items, so yeah they're gonna have a huge season again ^^
I really want to see if I can clear a 150 with helltooth. What would be fun, is if restless giant was included in the season power. However a better season starter is DH for farming paragon
"Necro Hardcore Good Luck" got a laugh out of me hahaha. Just curious, how's the Death Nova build for all types of play as a whole if you're tired of Rathma? Is it going to be good enough to bounty or speed solo (g)rift?
I only do solo speeds. I maximized every one of these builds on the PTR and I don't understand how can one consider the MonkBell to be #1 for speeds over DH Strafe/Impale. Monk's bells kill stuff quickly, but everything else you have to do feels extremely slow compared to the other top 3 classes/builds for solo speeds.
Had already narrowed my choice to barb, necro or wd before the ptr, and after taking in all of the ptr info and this that you’ve posted…it’s still a coin flip (literally) between barb and necro… Thank you for all the hard work you and the maxroll team do!
whirlwind barb is gonna be hilarious this season I think, with that power sucking all monsters to you it's gonna be worth some good laughs and it'll never be bad ! xD
I feel like I say this all the time, Raxx doesn't get enough credit for how much time and effort he puts in to the Diablo community. Blizzard should be happy they have a community of content creators that are still passionate about the game 10 years running.
I really appreciate the Casual rating in there. While I like all the detail just because it's interesting, I'm probably never going to play enough for the really high end stuff to matter and knowing what will work well with less time investment is awesome.
Sounds like I might go DH speeds into solo monk speeds. If anyone hops back on and wants to group the DH will be good for that so its not wasted effort.
Haven't touched D3 since the release of D2R. Was about to play today because I knew a new season started and so I came to view your tier list to decide what was fun to play this season as a casual. This tier list convinced me not to play. Everything is still basically the same and there doesn't seem to be any fun new builds or a good class to play that I haven't already grown tired of. I'm not interested in an endless grind if it's going to be boring. Back to grinding runes for me!
I'm just trying to figure all this out. Some of its nutzo. Some is understandable. Where would you guys recommend a beginner to start understanding seasons. What to do? What's important? What is a waste of time? How to acquire a set? Beginner stuff. I played D1 and D2. Im playing D3 on switch and its vastly different.
play adventure mode instead of campaign, hit max level then do season's journey (shift J to bring up) . then farm keys by completing rifts. use keys to farm greater rifts for gear and leveling of epic gems. watch people on twitch to get used to it
@@offill1 I'm maxed with like 40 par. And can run rifts for the most part. I cannot beat them in the time on torment 1, but i can complete them eventually. If i could ask you 1 question, id ask you "How to complete sets in season?" I have a few crafted sets but i don't understand seasonal sets and how to acquire them?.
im a necro main that plays necro no matter what and dont cheat farm paragons with other heros either and they look so spicey! but I always wanted to try the barb, so thats where its gonna be at for me next season its time for some change some He man! damage. hota bby come to me! :) glad for the video

Thank you so much for all your guides, Tier Lists and all the help in general. Maxroll and your videos got my number one source of information for everything regarding Diablo 3. I myself would say I am a rather casual player. Yeah I can grind if I am having a lot of fun, but never even managed to top GR Level 120 or so. I am not really sure what to play in Season 27, I really fell in love with the Inna monk, and now I am scared that it was nerfed TO much. Additionally I really can't stand to master Sunwokos Set Dungeon again for the Season journey (yeah that's the only monk dungeon I managed to master...but now I am trying to follow your Set dungeon guide in non season. Maybe it will help). I guess I'll end up with Necro or Barbarian. Played a whirlwind barb one time to farm Ethereals back in season 24 and I had a lot of fun. So I guess with the new super power it'll be even better :)
Raxx, EXCELLENT as always. My wifey is super pumped about WW Barbs. She always plays that class and she loves it. Me, on the other hand, will probably join her with DH. I use to only play Wizard, but they sucked so bad I switched to DH and love playing this class. Together, along with my brother-in-law who always plays Witch Doctor, are going fly outta the gate in Season 27. I really wanted to play wizzy again, but the lack of power in Tal's set has in season 27 has really let me down. I wish Blizz would buff this set at some point. Hopefully next season we'll see something, but I'm not holding my breath. Thanks for the insight and will be looking forward to your future build videos. 😉
Oh, man. I was initially excited by the Wizard changes. It sucks to see them not pan out. Now I'm stuck with a Sophie's Choice of DH, Necro, or Barb. I love the "Spin-to-Win" playstyle of Strafe and Whirlwind, but Rathma's AotD looks like a lot of fun.
just to be clear the barb ww power DOES apply DR, the skill itself just doenst care about it. this is super important because necro still needs a hard cc for krysbins, and you cant stomp if you have been ww'ing. pull barb still seems better at the very top.
Really good list Raxx, only thing I would change or add to it would be a leveling category. For people like me that are semi casual because of work schedule it's important not to have to spend a day or two just to lvl to 70.
i'm so happy barb is among the top for next season. i already wanted to play barb for the first time in 3 or 4 seasons due to the hota super power, not knowing that the WW build was gonna be this good too..

I would love to see a Roland’s shield bash and punish build that does great area damage. Keep Roland’s the same, let the punish belt also increase punish damage as well as give all runes,change one of the shields to allow punish attacks to buff shield bash, increasing its damage, area damage and range of attack. This essentially turns it into the semi mobile explosive nuke whereas the old method was using shield bash 5 times and then shield glare which felt clunky in both animation and use. This allows for more of a use shield bash to charge in like a barb, power it up with enhanced punishes and then destroy everything around you with the next shield bash. Cleaner animation, less clunky, funny style and fits class fantasy more imo. Buff shield bash damage with increased damage on Justice lantern ring and potentially cube depth diggers. Speed builds could use squirts, focus and restraint. Pushes using travellers pledge, Justice lantern, and either COE of RoRG depending on if you use crimsons. Work out the damage to either make it on par with what sweep can do or make it strong enough to be an A class build
As always, I'm grateful for this list. Being a more casual player, I've taken Monk, the last 3 seasons, because Inna's is quick, and my goal is, mostly, to complete the journeys and get the rewards; however, I'm interested in trying to do a bit more this season. So, I don't know. I could like playing a Barb, DH, or Necro; I'm, also, very interested in the WoL. I might start off with Barb, just for fun, and then transition into Monk. This was the first season I was gonna try not playing barb lol. Would you still say that DH is the best for 1-70 and season journey solo considering how bad the monks journey set is?
In what way are the archangels bugged? They seemed to perform exactly as stated. The problem is their damage is difficulty dependent and is too high at the highest GRs.

I mean, when they are exploding after activation, are they doing the damage like the monks normal bell would do, or is the damage calculated with the attack that activated the bell..? Or what ever. I finally wanted to play a Heaven's Fury crusader during a season, but the new skill for it and you ranking really put my motivation down a few levels. I hope it will be changed a litte.
As an avid WWRend Barb and GOD / ClusterSentry Marauder DH player, I really look forward for this season... The WW superpower will make it even easier to mow down all trash and dish out the most Rend damage, and both the Strafe and Cluster Arrow powers look interesting for their respective specs. Not to mention the Angelic Crucible mechanic itself basically guarantees you one useful Primal level item for your builds, which is huge (hello primal Yangs or Dawns for DHs, for example...) XD
@Raxxanterax DH Impale shadow mantle built question? Would it not be more optimal to cube the Karlei's point knife and use Burizo as the weapon for the 2 pierce with Fire Impale rune. I tried this and no damage and no pierce.. is this a bug?
Would there be any value in having an Uliana monk using the 7SS power with the WoL monk? 15 seconds of just hammering the bell seems like it might be good.
hi Rax, I tried some builds with my lame skills and potato items from goat trader and for me Rathma with new power is not even close in speed to WD angry chicken. Am i missing something?
Playing the PTR, I agree with the list. The monk definitely kicks ass but even witht he PTR vendor it took a long while to get the gear up to par to dominate, and of course this will be even longer in the season as getting the strong gear will take forever, unless you bot :(. I think I will try Barb next season just due to the fact that you start with the whirlwind build. Thanks for the upload!
As someone who only plays one class per season. How weak is inna Ally now? Is monk complete shit apart from WOL or is Inna still good enough for early season speed/xp runs? What is the GR Level for Inna Speeds?
I wanted to start with and play wiz ... but it is a sad story with tal rasha and the magic missile nerf. Looks like I will start with dh (sadly) as usual :-/ and might switch to wiz some time during the season.
“They’re fantastic at everything, but they don’t win at anything” (or something like that). Reminds me of season 26 tier list where almost everything about dh was 2, with a 3 and a 1.
Could you please also ask them to like look up Monk's other seasonal powers? (I mean to comment at least a bit on it in one of your videos - they might be watching, but I doubt they'll read the comments) It's like really dumb that other classes got multiple usable powers while Monk got just one, and on top of that for a build that didn't need it...
Glad necro got some love haven't played one since college about a decade ago. Same with barb. Played DH and Wiz my last season so hopefully get to try something new

Is this list assuming Crusader Falling Sword Angels get further nerfed? Because if not they blasting 150's not exactly last. Would put Wizard last.
Really suprised the wd jade build didnt get a mention for speed builds. The auto haunt with 2 piece jade set could be a sleeper speed build

Barbs run out of gas too quickly for solo speeds, ceiling at 110s instead of 125s for DH.

I’m gunna play necro main for the first time, and then work into a WD alt. WD is my fav class and it’s nice for them to not suck for another season!

What exactly makes DH this strong for farming paragon? Is strafe shooting knives faster than you could do it manually?

This was the first season I was gonna try not playing barb lol. Would you still say that DH is the best for 1-70 and season journey solo considering how bad the monks journey set is?
In what way are the archangels bugged? They seemed to perform exactly as stated. The problem is their damage is difficulty dependent and is too high at the highest GRs.
Necro is my favorite class by far. Happy to know it's my time again, even though they haven't really been bad anyways

Could you explain how the new monk bells are working?
I mean, when they are exploding after activation, are they doing the damage like the monks normal bell would do, or is the damage calculated with the attack that activated the bell..? Or what ever. I'm not very good with English, I hope you understand what I mean. Peace and love
I finally wanted to play a Heaven's Fury crusader during a season, but the new skill for it and you ranking really put my motivation down a few levels. I hope it will be changed a litte.
As an avid WWRend Barb and GOD / ClusterSentry Marauder DH player, I really look forward for this season... The WW superpower will make it even easier to mow down all trash and dish out the most Rend damage, and both the Strafe and Cluster Arrow powers look interesting for their respective specs.
Not to mention the Angelic Crucible mechanic itself basically guarantees you one useful Primal level item for your builds, which is huge (hello primal Yangs or Dawns for DHs, for example...) XD
@Raxxanterax DH Impale shadow mantle built question? Would it not be more optimal to cube the Karlei's point knife and use Burizo as the weapon for the 2 pierce with Fire Impale rune. I tried this and no damage and no pierce.. is this a bug?
My mains are DH/Wiz and I'll play them but I'll also play Barb this season.
Would there be any value in having an Uliana monk using the 7SS power with the WoL monk? 15 seconds of just hammering the bell seems like it might be good.

I tried some builds with my lame skills and potato items from goat trader and for me Rathma with new power is not even close in speed to WD angry chicken. Am i missing something?

So for general rifts, bounties, paragon farming ect i want shadow demon hunter with the strafe and a bell monk for pushing.
Does the pet damage buff on WD's angelic not count towards corpse spiders?

Playing the PTR, I agree with the list. The monk definitely kicks ass but even witht he PTR vendor it took a long while to get the gear up to par to dominate, and of course this will be even longer in the season as getting the strong gear will take forever, unless you bot :(. I think I will try Barb next season just due to the fact that you start with the whirlwind build. Thanks for the upload!
As someone who only plays one class per season. How weak is inna Ally now? Is monk complete shit apart from WOL or is Inna still good enough for early season speed/xp runs? What is the GR Level for Inna Speeds?

I wanted to start with and play wiz ... but it is a sad story with tal rasha and the magic missile nerf. Looks like I will start with dh (sadly) as usual :-/ and might switch to wiz some time during the season.

I play barb WW due to energy issues so simpler is better, glad to see them raise in some power this season.
“They’re fantastic at everything, but they don’t win at anything” (or something like that). Reminds me of season 26 tier list where almost everything about dh was 2, with a 3 and a 1.
I skipped the last 10 seasons but I'm coming back because this one looks actually really interesting. Rax having a list ready so early is amazing.

It's like really dumb that other classes got multiple usable powers while Monk got just one, and on top of that for a build that didn't need it...
Glad necro got some love haven't played one since college about a decade ago. Same with barb. Played DH and Wiz my last season so hopefully get to try something new
