    It is with great honor to watch my brothers dance. Such strength and bravery. Just like I. Thank you so much for putting these out. I'm so grateful to have found your channel. May the Great Spirit keep our Nations strong. A"HO

    I appreciate your housekeeping statement. I was really little when I saw powwow and prayed with my birth family. Gratitude.

    I have only been to one Pow Wow, it was just outside Winnipeg, Manitoba. I appreciate your housekeeping info, very educational.

      I say the same.
      However worse is shriapo painting their faces. But you see blue eyes and brown hair.
      Feathers and some leather.
      I'm thinking they are proud of a realitive,, but they don't dance correctly.
      Dances with Wolves style.

    Question 🙋🏻‍♀️
    The song where they had their feet together, and hopped .... was that a crow hop ?

      When the lakotas come back from war, they would dance in victory! It’s no rabbit dance

    May I ask what tribe the dancers/singers are from? I went to one pow wow years ago in Livingston Texas... Alabama Coushatta. I wish I had known the proper etiquette to observe for visitors... I know better now should I attend another one someday. There's so much to learn if you're a non-native so as to truly appreciate what you are seeing.

    je savais qu'il y avait des natifs barbus.. pourtant je suis très loin du continent mais je me posais la question de savoir comment s'appelaient les grands chefs connus portant la barbe à l'épopée des siècles passés..

    Is there a book that explains what is going on in a pow wow? Costumes? Songs? Dances? Etc.?

    • @everettute
      @everettute 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      not costume but regalia or outfit and traditional dancing is replicating war and what happened

    I must say as a non-native the music is foreign to my ears, but the dancing and costumes are magnificent. Maybe once I understand the meaning of the songs I would appreciate it better.

      Drums on an electronic device though good does not convey power as heard in person.

      That parts tough to do. The Family ask him to speak for them at this memorial. I don't know if he's speaking again this year.
