My mum always cooks pumpkin with crab. Looks excellent as always! She fries the crab a little with salt (softens the shell a little), removes the crab, makes the curry with the pumpkin then adds the crab back in towards the end once the pumpkin is done. That makes sure all the pumpkin is done evenly to your preference. Some like the pumpkin lumpy and some (like me) like it smooth 🙂
